Nar Shaddaa

It was a bit of a winding path that Zan took Naveera on that morning, more to lose any possible persuers then anything.

At last though they arrived at their destination, the small safe house that used to belong to Evangeline. It had been cleaned since she left the sheets on the bed replaced with things more to Z's liking. "This is what I wanted to show you." He said to the gorgeous woman at his side. "My safehouse."

"Very nice." Naveera placed a hand on Zanebry's chest and looked him dead in the eyes. "Were you hoping to have some real, true privacy in here?"

"A little of that I admit." He offered after a moment his eyes seeking hers. "More then that I wanted you to know where it is.... I planned to give you access."

She gave a serious nod. "Right. I suppose a secure safe house is always good. But how did you get it again?"

"Payment." He replied as he moved over to sit on the bed. "Evangeline wasn't going to use it anymore, And I thought it might be useful."

"So when she offered a reward this is what I picked."

Naveera looked at him with an uneasy look. "I think she should have hid in here then, unless she faked her death or something." She walked over to the bed and sat next to him. "Anyone else know about this place?"

He chuckled lightly. "She did fake her death Gorgeous, or that was the plan the last I talked with her." He moved closer to her. "A couple. Galen, who can be trusted, and that Sith Jo'ren." He frowned softly.

"He gave me his word he would forget about it. I don't completely trust him though."

"As long as you do not do anything to upset him, I believe you are safe from that Sith. But if he finds a modicum of an excuse, then I believe he will come after you." She looked to the doors and then back to him. "I suppose this place would be too obvious if he was hunting you, though."

"Exactly." He offered with a smile. "I also don't plan to ever speak to him again."

He paused his eyes moving towards hers, as he stayed silent for a moment. . "That's not the reason why I brought you here, to tell you about this place... It was to give you the codes for it."

"I know." She traced a finger across his chest. "You're trying to keep me safe again." She let out a small giggle. "When's it going to be my turn to watch your back?"

His hand moved to her waist and he pulled her gently towards him. She'd have a place in his lap if she wanted. "Never, as long as I get a say in it at least. You've already done enough for me as is. Keeping me sane and all."

"Keeping you sane?" The woman gave him a small peck on the cheek atop of his lap. "I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, with all that's going on."

"Yeah, I've been shot at, beaten, poisoned twice, and I'm probably missing a few things." Zane chuckled dryly. "Lucky for me I have a lovely woman like you to keep me going."

"Just try not to become dependent on me, alright? As much as I care for you, I'd never want that to happen." She stroked his cheek and smiled. "You might be missing some blood but you're still you."

"I know, and I've lived alone long enough to realize I can make it that way if I have to. Still might want there to be someone beside me though, on a more permanent basis. Not sure how well that will work out though."

There was a moments pause, a bit of hesitation in his tone as he continued. "Being as I'm leaving soon."

Naveera paused and looked at him. "I suppose that makes sense, given all that's going on. Maybe I'll go with you. The current trend with the SIS appears to be 'get out and run.'"

"You're welcome to if that's what you want." He smirked. "None of us can keep up this lifestyle forever after all."

"Course I don't know where I'll be going, or what I'll be doing. Still have a few things to figure out."

"One step at a time, huh?"

A pause.

"Wait, are you going to include me in thwarting Matthias?"

"Do you want to be?" He asked his eyes seeking hers.

He paused thoughtfully. "It's going to be hard to maintain your cover afterwards... At least a little bit."

"Stopping that bioweapon is more important than that. Heck, after talking with another agent, I think it might be good for me to leave the bureau."

He nodded a small smile playing over his lips. "If you fell for my outdated charm, I'm certain that you should at least consider it." He said teasingly. "Though that is a big step for anyone."

"Especially if you're planning to come with me. I mean do we even know where we want us to go?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe we can go to Makeb and waste all our savings." She gave him another peck on the cheek. "Maybe we'll just drift for awhile."

"That does sound tempting. though I don't know how much saving's I'll have left after all this. I'll probably be funding a good portion of this mission from my own pockets." He turned towards her, letting his lips brush hers.

"Drifting was my original plan, maybe stop by home or something along the way. I don't know if we should explore the core worlds though."

"Maybe we will get paid for doing the right thing. Slim chance of that happening, though." The twi'lek nuzzled her nose with his. "Well, I suppose we'll take one step at a time then."

"Aye, I figure we'll be lucky to scrape enough enough credits for a celebratory dinner afterwards." He smiled as she nuzzled her nose with his tilting his head so he could kiss her on it before she pulled too far away.

He loved her he really did, his sin was probably that he didn't know how much.Was it more then some of the others? Or just the same? "One step at a time." He smirked. "I think we've said this before."
