Wandering the Streets (D7 EE)

It had been another long day....though for entirely different reason. Yslane threw on her coat and hid away her lightsaber. She stopped at one of the open air food carts and picked up...something, edible at least and near as she could tell not laced with anything. With her unknown meat-product between bread, Yslane took a seat and watched the movements of the people. Curious as to how the flow had changed since the terror attacks of the last few days.
Given most of the denizens of this sector seemed to be continuing their trade....
it seemed somethings never changed regardless.
OOC: Changing time because I didn't notice in conflicted with an already active thread....

Along came an angry looking girl; who was obviously Sith and whose image had probably been in a few Republic-side briefings. Unlike Yslane, Layne had no compulsion to hide away her two lightsabers. Though like her, she was on the prowl for something edible. Preferably something better than food cubes and nutrient paste.
It was pure coincidence then, that she happened to stumble upon the same foodcart; where she apparently could't decide between what looked like a roasted six legged frog, and a bowl of still moving worm-like creatures that had been drowned in unidentifiable seasoning.

Yslane knew the Sith by reputation, which would probably make most Sith happy. "This is not half bad." She gave the Sith a rye smile and held up her....food thing.
She debated showing her lightsaber to be transparent...but that might be perceived as a threat.

Layne looked at the woman, who she had probably seen in passing at the wedding... or the first peace dinner. But recognition did not flash across her face. Instead, there was skepticism and natural paranoia as someone she didn't know told her what was supposedly good.
"Yeah? What's that?"

"I have no idea." Yslane smiled back and then took a bite. "But it hasn't killed me yet." That earned her a glare and some muttered curses from the vendor.

She looked at it a moment, then turned to the vendor. "You got any chasuka to go with that?"
At which, assuming he did, she'd get herself a burger of mystery meat.

Yslane chuckled and returned to her meal, unsure if the Sith had noticed a fellow Force user. She mulled the question of whether or not to say anything further. For now she watched in indecision.

She probably had. But force users seemed to be pretty common around here, and right now she couldn't really care too much. Not when there was eating to be done.
"This isn't bad," she said after taking a few bites.

"I think it's locally grown," Yslane inclines her head toward a vicious looking rodent eyeing the cart. "I'm Yslane Tssilla by the way."

She considered doing her usual; glaring and/or ignoring the call for introductions. It was the traditional Layne way. But she couldn't be bothered to go that route today, so Yslane got a gruff "Layne Hoshin" instead.

Yslane studied the Sith for a moment, "Kind of a crummy day." She remarks, taking another bite. "The periodic rain I mean."

"Yeah," she said, taking another bite.
Layne had a lot on her mind. And it didn't help that she still had quite a few injuries, as might be apparent from a closer inspection. It wouldn't be hard to figure out she was in a very serious fight earlier today.

Yslane made note of the injuries, "Crummy for other reasons too I wager?" A sympathetic smile had crept into her features.

She looked at Yslane, following her gaze, before turning her attention once more to the food.
"Nar Shaddaa is a violent place," she said; wisely not mentioning where she got her injuries.

"The Galaxy is a violent place." Yslane corrected, "Do you need any help? I know a couple of Doctors."

"I already saw a doctor," she said. "Apparently they can't just fix everything in one go."

"...I guess Nar Shadda was a bit more violent then usual?" Yslane replied with an embarrassed smile, "But anything you can walk away from right?"

"Yeah, I guess."
Layne was getting paranoid. Maybe Yslane was one of her masters agents, checking to see if she was remaining loyal. Or maybe there was one lingering near. She'd have to be careful with what she said. Even with what seemed to be just a meaningless bit of chit-chat.

Yslane quietly ate for a moment, considering something, "What do you think of these peace talks?"

"Oh?" Yslane shifted her gaze back to the streets, "I'd say neither of us has much effect on it but that doesn't stop one having thoughts." She takes another bite. "Personally I hope they succeed, but that possibility seems to be growing remote."

She sighed. Politics. How she hated politics.
"... and why is that then?"

Yslane shrugs, "Maybe its just cynicism on my part. Or the rising tide of violence." She takes another bite, "Its a bit to speak of peace when people are killing each other in the streets...."

"This is Nar Shaddaa, people get killed every day. Usually no one important."

"Everyone is important to somebody," Yslane replies, "...have you been here before?"
