Nar Shaddaa

The shelter that Cole has been running is in shambled, everything is turned upside down and several Hutt Security are basically ransacking the place while a Hutt waits outside on his floating sled. Kidaja just smiles as his goons do the work.

Cole had only left there less than ten minutes ago. "Hold up," he says to the Republic soldier, "I left one of my stimpacks at the clinic." The Private gives him a disbelieving look, but the medic is his superior officer, so they turn and head back to the clinic... right into the scene of disaster.

Kidaja chortles and looks at Cole from his hover sled and says in Huttese, “You must be Cole… terribly sorry but it seems you have not paid your protection fees and now you are overdue, I am sure you meant to reach out to me.”

“That will be 2000 credits, due immediately.”

"Protection? Straight up, I'm not paying you anything, and I wouldn't, even if you hadn't already trashed a bunch of stuff that doesn't even belong to me." He hopes he sounds a lot braver than he felt, "now, I'm going to turn around and walk away."

“You still owe us 2000 credits, and if you try to setup another clinic it will be shut down and the next,” Kidaja says with a laugh.

“You either give it willingly or we take it piece by piece.”

"I owe you precisely nothing," he was fairly certain that his hands were shaking, but he indicated to Private Finama and turned to go.

The Hutt laughs with a deep rumble and says, “Of course you don’t.”

Private nods and follows and says, “Good call, nothing good-” he falls to his knees after a blaster discharge and then a second as Hutt Security guns him down in cold blood.

Kidaja says, “Everyone pays, one way or another.”

The private collapses with a scorch mark in his back and lower leg. He tries to reach for Cole but a third blast ceases that futile action.

Kidaja adds with a chuckle, “Nar Shaddaa is a dangerous place.”

OOC: Flips a Destiny for this.

Cole freezes in place, looking down at the Private's body. He swallows, well and truly in over his head. He takes another step away from the Hutt.

“Now you owe me 1000 credits,” Kidaja adds with a deep throaty chuckle.

Too late for that now, Cole takes another step.

“Don’t try and open another shelter,” is all he says and then nods to his goons who torch the structure.

Clenching his fists, Cole spun back around and glared at the Hutt as the shelter goes up in flames. "Fuck you," he spits, turning away again.

The Hutt just laughs and laughs...

"Good afternoon, this is Republic Security, how can I assist you sir?" a male voice replies.

All of a sudden, Malto Brin beaned Cole in the back of the head. "Nobody speaks to Kidaja the Hutt that way." He signaled for his men to hand him a baton. "If you can't pay the bill, you can pay with your bones." He then brought down the baton over and over on one of the medic's legs until he heard a resounding crack. "There won't be a next time, blondie."

Cole goes down like like a rag doll.

"Cole is currently not available! If you would like to leave a message, then go fuck yourself." With that said, Malto shut off the communicator and walked away.

The blackout lasts less than a minute, but he stays on the ground for much longer, dazed and agonised. Fuck. This. Place. He finally gathers himself enough to inject the most powerful painkiller in his kit. It is going to be one very long walk back to his quarters, if he can walk at all.

As the security thug steps away a woman drops from a third story window, she had been here for a completely different reason which is complicated but she had seen Cole down and she was not about to let the Hutts do anything worse.

She lights her lightsaber on landing and says to Malto, “Just walk away… sleemo.”

"Yeah, whatever. Already doing that. Get him a stretcher or something." Malto nodded and continued on his way.

“Well your face… is walking away… damn it,” she scowls.

She narrowed her eyes… one she didn’t have a witty come back for that and two Cole was really hurt. She kneels down and says to Cole, “Let me help you.”

Putting the syringe away, Cole looks suspiciously at the woman, "I'm fine. That," and he indicates to the body of Private Finama, "is our real problem."
