Cole's Quarters

Part of him was convinced this was getting silly, he was just a surgeon, not a secret agent. He made himself a caff while waited for Ashla.

Ashla showed up. "What's up?"

Cole was seated at his desk, working away on something, looking up when Ashla entered. "Hey, you've heard about the missing Force-sensitive kids, right? I have some thoughts, and I need your help."

Ashla sits down. "Sure. What do you need?"

"I was on the Freighter they took the kids to, but I was stopped before I could pull any information directly from the 'crates' in cargo." He ran a hand through his hair, "but I do have the information on a Czerka assistant who's assigned to project. Step one: we break into her account and steal her access. Step two: we use her access to steal everything we can about that Freighter."

"Do you think you can set up a DDoS attack on Czerka's servers while I'm pulling the information out?"

There was a sudden chiming at the door. "Your favorite patient." Was the introduction, though it lacked humor.

Ashla considers for a moment. "Probably. Let me see what I can do."

Ashla then looks at the newcomer. "Well, after we see to her."

"Jedi Cortess?" Cole got to his feet, "please, come in." He offered her the chair he'd just vacated.

"Hell, am I bothering? I can come back another time." She waved to the familiar figures. "Hey Ashla. How have you been?"

Running a hand through his curls, "no, of course not, please," and he offered the seat again.

"Good. You? Still living the life of excitement?" Ashla sets her medical bag on the table for Cole.

Alysele took the offered seat. "Thank you doctor. And yes..." She gestured to her body. "Excitement hurts, let me tell you. Not all that it's cracked up to be."

Plying his mediscanner, Cole’s mouth tightened as Alysele’s information popped up on the two big displays on his desk. He’s practised enough that he doesn’t let the concern show on his face, but it’s clear that she’s taken more than a beating this time. “There’s… a lot of damage, and it’s pretty spread out.”

“Before I can target any specific injuries,” Cole ran a hand through his hair, “I’d like to feel more confident that your vitals are stable.” He nodded to Ashla to help him.

"Thank you. Your work is always thorough Doctor." She smiled sheepishly. "How much do I owe you?"

Cole shot a side-long glance at Ashla, expression somewhere between amused and disapproving. "I don't charge for my services, Jedi Cortess."

"I know I'm not as easy patient. What is your stance on charity?"

Ashla shrugs. "This is a Republic Compound. We don't have to pay for the space."

"All I need from you today, ma'am, is the promise you'll be back tomorrow," a hand went through his curls. "Maybe try to get some rest?"

Ashla goes back to her seat and sits down. "And maybe let someone else do the fighting for once. You won't do anyone any favors if you get yourself killed."

Fortunately for Cole, the usage of Mallory's credentials was not flagged, despite the failure to hack it.

The departure date aligns with what she had said: tomorrow. Its location aligns with the facility of Project: Evolution. There were numerous names on hand, though it seemed to be just of personnel rather than any buyers or even the children. In terms of cargo, it appeared that the numbers were currently at twenty-two units of unspecified 'cargo.'
