With the map in his possession it was just a case of getting into the Network District. Unfortunately the Hutts seemed to have everything locked down due to the recent unrest. Try as he might he just couldn't find a suitable unguarded access point.

Hutt Security stops him, though not in response to his attempt, and says in Huttese, "Due to security concerns this area is off-limits to non essential personnel."

There are four security officers three humans and a nikto.

Sighing internally he braced himself for having to deal with these Hutt security types. Consciously keeping his hands away from his saber he approached to a reasonable distance. "Afternoon. I didn't realise the place was off-limits. How do I make myself essential personnel? Aside from killing a shitload of terrorists like you saw on TV yesterday."

He folded his arms across his chest and smiled.

"We have our orders," the officer replies. "Can't just let anyone in, you have legitimate business then produce legitimate credentials."

"Well, I'm a good friend of Nem'ro the Hutt if that counts for anything up here. If not, how much do legitimate credentials cost and which of you do I buy them from?" He looked at the uniforms and faced the officer. "Looks like it would be you."

"400 credits for the proper credentials," he says after glancing at his fellow officers.

The sith looked at them carefully for a few moments, then shrugged and handed over 400 credits. "Seems a fair price. Here you go. I guess this makes me an independent security consultant or something, huh?"

"Something like that," the officer says and then one of them produces an ID card. "It expires in a few hours, have fun."

Jo'ren squinted at the card and smiled. "Thanks boys and girls. Don't spend those creds all at once."

With a wave he walked away from the small group and off towards the route indicated by comparing Revan's map to the current layout of the Network District.

Screen Wipe...

Jo'ren has worked his way through the maze that is the Network District, it is less busy than the rest of Nar Shadda and much more industrial with many droids and higher security count. The ID gets him past with little effort until he is working his way through a narrow alley into towards an unmarked control center.

He was getting closer. He could feel it in his bones. Looking around he checked the map to make sure he was in the right place. There had to be an access point around here.

There is an unmarked lift.

He checked the map and walked over to the lift to see if it fit his directions.

OOC: It does.

Jo'ren looked around and then hit the activation panel to operate the lift.

It descends downwards and after about a minute it comes to a halt and opens into a dimly lit corridor. Then there is blaster fire that causes him to duck behind the door. It continues for another fifteen seconds and then stops.

After ducking out of the way until the blaster fire ended he peeked around the corner, counting the time until the fire began again. Assuming it did. Maybe it was just one last blast from an ancient defensive system.

There is silence for now.

He notices a few corpses just outside the lift door, most are more like skeletons. With a second look he can see scorch marks on the inside of the lift but it looks like something or someone was repairing the damage.

He attempted to sense for any living enemies but only the light would answer. Thinking a moment he cut out a piece of the lift door with his saber and used it like a shield to progress up the corridor.

The shield allows him to progress down the hallway but he has to retreat as the blaster fire continues and does not relent until he is not visible. Whatever is powering the weapons is the issue here.

Jo'ren got on his comlink and called the ship. "2V, it's me. I need to you too look at the map I sent and help me to figure out where the power conduits are in this area."

(OOC: What sort of roll do I need to figure out where the power lines are? Is there a junction box or something near by?)

2V answers, "Oh my, of course my lord. Did you make sure to stay hydrated my lord?"

OOC: Mechanics check at Hard, with 2V assisting he gets a boost die.

Even with 2V's help he couldn't quite figure it out. However, something incredibly useful came out of all of his tinkering!

They don't disable the power but they find that this system is powered by a discrete power system coming from a private automated power distribution center owned by an undisclosed source. Disabling that station would knock out the power to the exterior defenses.

2V is able to work this out and also orders Jo'ren a delicious nutritious meal.

"Great job 2V! And yeah, thanks, I'll need that." He chuckled and noted the location of the substation. "Guess we might need to hit that tomorrow huh?"

(OOC: PF note spotted, to be continued on D7 :))
