[Day 2 - EA] Good to be Queen

PostPosted: Sun Jun 11, 2017 9:14 pm
by Thaya Kess
The Nova Throne is buzzing with activity and even the poor unfortunates stuck in their cages high above the ground seem excited or maybe that is just delirium from being caged without food and water for so long.

In her private area Thaya Kess reclines on her throne, a massive steel edifice that is shaped in the form of flames but made of steel. Pirates are fighting, drinking, and glaring at these strangers that have been invited by the Pirate Queen…

At her side is a droid shaped into a hunting cat that rests at her feet, one can only wonder what dreams a droid cat has.

Zeno Deathwright makes his way to present himself to the queen of these pirates. He steps before her. He pays no mind to the glares and stares of the pirates around him, his dual lightsabers on his belt.

"Thaya Kess I'm guessing?" he asks, not really expecting an answer to that. "I am Lord Zeno Deathwright, pilot of the Umbral Vanguard and head of Death's Shadow Squadron. To what do I owe the pleasure of your invitation?"

"I have a bad feeling about this..." The Pantoran muttered beneath his breath to his compatriots, looking about the throne room as they entered. Beneath his trench coat, he had put on a crisp military jacket, to finish off his uniform look, though it seemed much more relaxed with the collar unbuttoned a bit.

Hidden by the folds of his coat, the holster for his heavy blaster felt right for him, ensuring that he wasn't without protection, just in case.Yellow-gold eyes took in the splendor and horror of the place. As well as the others that were here.

So. That was Lord Deathwright. Good to know.

"The Crew of the Tortoise would like to know that as well, your highness." He spoke out after Lord Deathwright, a wry smile on his features. If this was anything like yesterday, it was going to be a hell of time for him.

Right behind the blue skinned man was another one, a balance to his golden eyes for deep, red ones instead. It was a challenge not to come in here with a full armored escort against someone whose minions you killed yesterday.

However, the presence of a Sith nearby gave him surprising comfort to the tension, such as it was.

The chamber was that of which a person who chose to glorify themselves would build. Statements to their power they wielded to those who entered it, to no real pragmatic benefit to the storage of the slaves.

Her power extended to people; those around her bound and chained to get her a sense of superiority over them Even her throne was a sign of her fragile ego. She was someone who could easily be toppled with the right pressure was applied and replaced with someone better

Nudimsu was not in the position to deal such pressure, but it made entering the room that much easier. He didn't even speak while entering; there was no need to lower himself just yet.

Adrianaa looks at the hanging cages with a visible scowl on her face. She turns and whispers to Fredtrey.

"As I said before. No slaves. Ever."

She then approaches the small gathering of people and nods to the self proclaimed Queen.

"We are from the Night Saber, representing Swamp Dog. We would hear what you have to say."

Thaya leans forward and says, “You killed my people that inclines me to seek vengeance but then again my people died because they were incompetent which may entitle a reward. You have shown you have something, and you are not afraid to die.”

“So since you seem reckless why not put that to good use. I have a proposition, you help me get what I want and I forget that you killed five of my people. Otherwise, you can leave here alive, and I hire the best mercenaries my money can buy to find you kill you and add your head to my collection.”

“You have a choice, obviously. We can be rich, or you can be dead. The alternative is help me get what I want and I pay the lot of you could earn 25,000 credits from the spoils.”

Durasay smirked. He was tempted to make a quip about him being the best mercenary she could hire, and that he'd have to turn her down, so she'd have to hire the second-best mercenary. But discretion was the better part of valor. Tilting his head slightly, he looked around at those gathered.

Republic, Sith, and those living on the Edge of the Empire/Republic war. The Force works in mysterious ways, bringing all these disparate groups together. "What's that percentage wise, of the cut? Ballpark it for me, if you will. Obviously, you've seen our skills against your men, so wanting to make sure we are earning what we are worth."

(OOC: Looking for her Negotiation rank, so I can then Negotiate to see if there is a chance of a higher cut.)

She gestures to a droid hand it comes forward in case people wish to make negotiations, “I am Fix-It, Financial Relations droid for her highness.”

OOC: 2 Challenge and an Ability Die and a setback die for the difficulty. Force abilities do not work on him.

The Sith is not much of a negotiator. If this Pantoran can squeeze a few extra credits out of her then that'd be fine, if not then whatever. He only had one question. "Is it a Sith or Republic target? If so, you're asking for trouble from the Hutts and whichever."

"Neither, it's an old Hutt Treasure ship," she responds.

"And if I said I was less interested in credits and more interested in a more practical and lasting working relationship?" he asks, curious to her response.

Droids. He hated dealing with Droid Majordomos. He couldn't read them like he could with sapients. Cursing inwardly, he looked at the droid.

Negotiating with Fix-It (Presence 4, Negotiation 1 vs. 2 Challenge, 1 Difficulty, 1 Setback: 1eP+3eA+2eC+1eD+1eS 2 failures, 1 advantage

"Like I said, I'm wanting to make sure all of us are paid accordingly to our skills, and that we aren't being undersold on whatever the percentage is on the take." He felt the words not really landing on the Droid. But easing off, he shrugged. "Then again, maybe I should just keep my mouth shut and listen to her worshipfullness and her new plan."

Chiding himself, he relaxed his posture. "You won't get anymore trouble from me, but I'm listening."

(Just using the advantage to save some face on the failure of the negotiation.)

“Help me get this treasure ship and that would go a long way to building a fruitful relationship, Sith. Of course I had a great lead but you let her get away. That and my crew got a bit overzealous, right Gin?” she says looking up at an encaged houk, malnourished and probably suffering from dehydration.

“So now you have to do some legwork.”

"Sounds like a plan. I do enjoy plundering lost ships. Got one that crashed back on Korriban a long time ago that made me some credits," he says with a nod.

"I am sure Swamp Dog will share similar sentiments as the Sith here. Allies are always useful. Credits only go so far."

"Where is the ship, and what is keeping you fron get ting it for yourself?"

“One step at a time, you need to find a rodian, Yasu Bindo. She has information I need. Bring her to me, here,” the queen replies leaning back on her throne.

“She has sticky fingers.”

[OOC: I was unavailable to post during the day, however, my character was in this scene. Am posting some reactions that will not affect the conversation so far.]

Fredtrey followed Adrianaa in the pirate lair, now in his new "shady mission clothes", heavy leather jackets with no sleeves to show his cybernetic arms, a hood and shades. He was hoping for an intimidating look in order to avoid direct confrontation.

He looked at the slave cages, but if this affected him in any way, he did not let it show. His interior dialog was different though.

I am sorry, I cannot do anything for you, it would just be suicide.

Adrianaa Morindel wrote:Adrianaa looks at the hanging cages with a visible scowl on her face. She turns and whispers to Fredtrey.

Fredtrey whispers back.
"Thank you, Senator, I really hope this mission does not involve them."

Thaya Kess wrote:“You have a choice, obviously. We can be rich, or you can be dead. The alternative is help me get what I want and I pay the lot of you could earn 25,000 credits from the spoils.”

Fredtrey whispers to Adrianaa again:
"I don't like this, this looks like a too big sum."

Dapper Dog wrote:"Neither, it's an old Hutt Treasure ship," she responds.

Whispering again:
"All right, I have absolutely no problem looting an old wrecked ship."

"A bit speciest, don't you think? Implying that a Rodian has sticky fingers." Durasay chided, before looking back to the Pirate Queen, and then Nudimsu. "Where'd you lose track of this Yasu Bindo?" Even with the dark weight on his shoulders, he could set things aside to do the job right.

"It's a big sector. Can't just say find this person. Gotta give us a place to start, don't you think?"

So far he was less than impressed with her. All he kept thinking was where he could setup for a clear target on her if it came down to it.

"Stereotypes exist for a reason, Durasay." He looks to him and back at her. Her species, for instance, was well known for its emotional and animalistic outbursts. Yet to see evidence of the contrary.

Treasure hunting was a seemingly innocent anventure, which is why he didn't trust her one bit. People don't offer gifts just like that. Not so much that he did not believe her, but there was obviously much more than what she was saying.

Just wasn't sure what he could do at this moment to expose her. Which is kind of what he was hoping for out of this.

He leaned in closer and whispered to his partner "What's your head saying about this?"

“She was on that ship… which is now back on Nar Shaddaa, so your window is shrinking. I know she hasn’t left the system by legitimate means, but other then that you have some work ahead of you. You can ask Kidaja, he owes me a favor,” Thaya says as her hunting cat droid rises and purrs in an electronic voice.

"She stole from me, pretends to be a doctor... or scientist and I want my property back, I don't care who she serves. Bring her to me," the Queen hisses.

"Of course. I imagine she'll suffer an appropriate fate at your hands for a long time for knowingly acting against you?" he asks, wondering if the thought of such treatment would make the Republican's present uncomfortable. Zeno has a knowing smile, understanding the cost of betrayal. He could not stand for disloyalty.

Adrianaa frowns a bit more and rubs her chin.

"Is there information or goods we can retrieve from her and return to you that would still help this mission if she is unable to accompany us back? I imagine she will put up quite a resistance, and my hired guns don't take to kindly to people shooting at them. Accidents can happen even with the best shots in the galaxy."
