Second Glances in the Den (EA3)

[Moyr Ahaya]

"That there's a hit out? It's a word from my Mando'a friends that haven't ever fed me crap before. Time's not on our side if you want to prevent it, but what's the more you would need?"

[Dapper Dog]

She mulls that over and says, "You're asking a lot of me, my old man and I have not always seen eye to eye, but this is hard for me to just up and believe."

"They ain't ever gotten along but to go after my daughter's father, again. My father knows that is off limits."

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"Would you like to see proof of it?" Hala offered.

She pulled her datapad out, opened the file she had been given on Vora and her drek of a father, and sorted through the directory until she came across signal intercepts stating that Dorak was trying to have her ex killed. After quickly sanitizing it, she locked the files and turned her pad around so Vora could see.

"See? The story that he fights only for money is a lie. He does what he wants when it suits him and those closest to you suffer for it."

[Dapper Dog]

She frowns and says, “Alright let’s say I believe you it’s me versus my clan, that’s a losing proposition no matter how you slice things. A warrior knows when to fight, and this ain’t a winning proposition without backup.”

[Moyr Ahaya]

"What kind of backup would you need? A strike team or a battle force?"

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"Who's to say the clan won't follow you once current leadership is neutralized? The way I heard it, you were your father's most ardent supporter. The question is whether you want your father alive or dead at the end of this matter. And since you're the party at interest here, that question is your's to answer."

[Dapper Dog]

"Strike team, rather keep this light, if I agree to do anything," she replies. "I am not going to be a kin slayer."

[Moyr Ahaya]

"We'll assemble one for you so you can get things done your way." Moyr said decisively.

[Dapper Dog]

"Now you are talking my language, we don't kill my father but if I feel you are saying the truth we meet tomorrow night at the arena. My father has a taste for gambling and a friend with a private viewing box," she says tentatively.

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"Which friend? Might be helpful to know, in case we can convince them to join our cause before then," Hala asked softly.

[Dapper Dog]

The Mandalorian woman taps her chin in thought and says, “Timu Vosk I think, they do business together. He probably won’t be there; Vosk just gives him leave to use his box from time to time. Big time investor, has money and likes to show it.”

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"If he won't be there, then he can be dealt with afterwards. Let me know if any feathers of his get rustled and I can try to help smooth them over. Tomorrow evening then?" said the Imperial officer, gently leaning back against the seat.

[Dapper Dog]

"Sure," she says finishing the bottle.

The Mandalorian leaves a bit unsteady from the news and the booze.

[Moyr Ahaya]

Once she left, Moyr looked at Hala. "I have one Vizsla-aligned Mandalorian gunner at my disposal. Who else do we want on that team?"

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"Lord Jo'ren if possible, in case things go badly. Lord Zeno also knows some of the other Mandalorians and might be a useful voice, considering he is our easiest space-faring asset in case Dorak tries to run to fight another day rather than simply conceding bloodlessly and outright. Perhaps Sergeant Gunnar, in case a trooper might inspire some kind of comraderie. What do you think?"

[Moyr Ahaya]

"I'll reach out to Jo'ren and Zeno, you handle Gunnar." Moyr said quickly. "But since it's going to be more a show of power and less so its use, I think you need to be on the team to help Vora talk Dorak down."

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"I would be happy to, my lord," she said, dipping her head to the Wraith.

[Moyr Ahaya]

Moyr nodded.

"And since we are here and talk, do you have anything else for me?"

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"Any leads on SIS personnel? I know they are here, but I have not seen much sign of them. Certainly not a publicly available sign like Col. Garza.... and the Aris job is still on. Now is not the place to discuss such things, but it is still there if you wanted...."

[Moyr Ahaya]

"I might. I was at the crime scene when you were securing the assets. Because this is what you did, I assume. Who else?"

Moyr paused.

"I keep my contacts with the Blues at a minimum. If I find something, it won't be by looking them in the eyes."

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"Lots. A senator who brags she's a cutpurse, Lord Jo'ren, your slicer friend, Craw, Lord Shaisha, a Republic soldier, and some others affiliated with Craw I think," she enumerated quickly.

[Moyr Ahaya]

"What a motley bunch. Who has tried to assume leadership? Someone always does."

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"Senator Morindel, so far. I am uncertain how much direct influence I should try to assume. So far I have styled myself as the political voice of the Empire in the matter and otherwise a silent partner. Though the Pantoran, Durasay, is also a likely candidate."

[Moyr Ahaya]

Moyr tangled lekku in thought.

"How about you work with Vreysk on getting Imperial interests represented in this. This would allow you not to assume central role, while still keeping tabs on the the prize to be claimed. I prefer my status as a loose cannon rather than a politically invested stakeholder, and this has become very political judging by the participants involved so even if I join I will assume a quiet role. The Pantoran is pushy, self-righteous and eager to put his nose in other's affairs and he has backing of his own, while the corrupt senator can call on a Jedi that is one of the best slicers on this Moon and a soldier that may or may not be SIS. On Baesal Zyn, the situation changed. Before, the conflict of interests was minimal. Now it is profound, and while I may secure whatever she discovers, they will likely have it too. The Mandalorian should be loyal to me, use him if need be."

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"Do we need to reel her back in? Baesal," Hala asked softly, almost with a wary tone of voice.
