It was time to sit down and get some things straight, so Layne went to the cramped quarters she'd given Daz and banged on the door.

"Wake up, breakfast in 5."

Daz opens the door and runs out towards the ‘galley’ and says, “Can I have Bango-Sugar Blasts? Do we have that? We should, I am so hungry! I was up all night wait till you see what I did!”

“Man I thought the Jedi were cool but that Jedi seems lame, Sith are totally wiz.”

She wanted answers, but it didn't hurt to indulge the kid. Probably make it easier to get those answers too.

"I don't know what those are," she said, "check the supplies."

And reached out into the force, to try and get a read on the kid, finding herself frustrated with how difficult it seemed to be.

She opened her eyes again and sighed. "So, what did you do?"

“Well Baes, the cool Jedi, told me exactly how to make a hilt and I did it… I stayed up all night and made a cool one. It’s totally wiz, I even put spikes on it, like a real Sith,” he says digging through the supplies.

"You... did?" she sounded skeptical. "I'll have to see it later. But I think we should talk first. If you're going to stay on my ship, I really do need to know more about you after all."

[Dapper Dog]

“I told you I am totally wiz with stuff like that,” he pulls out blue milk and some sugary cereal and makes a bowl for himself.

He talks with his mouth full and adds, “You first, oh dark lord.”

"I believe I already told you my life story," she said. "Or did you have specific questions?"

"Yeah why are you so pissed all the time?" he asks. He spills blue milk as he eats.

"Like you have a crazy great life! You can go where you want, you have the Force, and you have cool people like Wilhelm and that Jedi Baes as friends."

Yeah right, friends.

"Looks can be deceiving, kid. It beats Kessel and what came before, sure, but things aren't as simple as you think they are. I may not be a slave any more, but that doesn't mean I can go where I want and do whatever I care to do."

[Dapper Dog]

"Why not," he asks while eating.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Because I still have a master. And his influence reaches across the galaxy. If I don't do what he tells me to do, I'll get hunted down. Simple as that. Now for you. I heard a rumor about some kid fleeing the empire, saying he's a child of the emperor. I thought maybe you could tell me if that's you."

[Dapper Dog]

“Never even been to Imperial space, does the Emperor have kids?” he says in reply.

[Layne Hoshin]

"You aren't lying to me, are you?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Never been, so how many kids does this Emperor have? If they are rich sure I will be one,” Daz responds.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Look, I don't care if you are... it's not like I'd rat you out or something. I just need you to be honest. I need to know who you really are. Where you came from. Facts. That sort of thing. I can't teach you any cool tricks if I don't know more about you."

I wonder if we have a DNA scanner onboard or something.

“The name is Daz and I was a slave, guess Outer Rim I don’t know they tend to be light on information when you’re just property,” he replies bitterly.

"Do you know the names of your first owners? Something we can track."

[Dapper Dog]

"Some sleemo named Yanzee, think he was a Duros maybe. This was awhile back, ran with the Exchange, probably" he says after thinking about it.

She moved over to a data terminal, and ran a search that would hopefully produce some results. Maybe the imperial database would have something relevant.

Layne finds nothing terribly useful, though there is a link that says she can enhance her size by 10 centimeters with this one weird trick.

Daz says, "Why all the questions, you trying to get rid me or something?"

"No," she said. "Trying to figure out if you're the one someone else was telling me about, or if that encounter will still be in my future."

"What does that mean?" Daz says.

"You were expecting me, like destiny or something? Well that is just weird, who told you this? Your master?"

"Like I said, I don't know if it applies to you or not. It might, it might not. I really kind of hope it doesn't, actually. And no, not my master. Someone... else."
