''Even if you think you are right in your vision of the light, we should be free to come to the same conclusion on ourselves. That way our understanding of the Light side can only be stronger for it. Then again...you also could be right on some points but wrong on others. We could be right on some point but wrong on others. Teaching is not a one way thing...the teacher can learn as much from the students, if not even more so, as the students learn from him or her or between themselves. We, yourself included, are thus robbed of a valuable exchange of experience and ideas. Discussing those, agreeing with some and debunking others can lead to much bigger growth in the long term. She took a sip of water

"I know. And thank you," she returns the smile. "But, given we just tremendously increased the Jedi population on the planet for the peace talks, I played the odds and went with a Jedi distress signal."

"That's understandable." he nodded. "It's just a friendly reminder."

He looked over to the main discussion in the room. "Usually, it's wise to follow your instincts."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington listens to the ordeal.

"Well spoken Baesal. Though everyone makes mistakes no matter who they are. So please do not be so harsh on master Mersi.

Though if you are on the subject of poor execution despite noble intentions. I do find issue with your last statement about the Sith imposing their will on others. While the Sith value power above all else. I feel that your choice of words paints us all with the same brush and vilifies us. There are those Sith who are earnestly seeking peace and understanding with the Republic." He comments as he finishes his meal.

He offers a polite bow to the Jedi master. "Thank you for the meal and experience master Mersi."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"If I may....further discussion on the matter has reached the point past irrelevance and into active harm." Yslane sighs, "Master Mersei behaved in a manner of a Jedi helping another Jedi with their meditations. There are philosophical aspects related to expectations, introspection, and the nature of the Force that come into play when choosing to employ such methods. And debate on such things as a teaching tool is certainly not unreasonable."

"However....remember earlier when I spoke of missteps? Well your anger over this has lead you to turn the Master's misstep into your own. We are here for peaceful discussion and you, unintentionally one presumes, insulted the other party in our peace talks by painting them all with the same broad brush. That does not aid in furthering any sort of understanding between our Order and theirs. Please Miss Zyn, I implore you to let your feelings on the matter go for now. Speak to the other Masters if you wish, you have the right to voice your concerns. But lets not make the situation any worse."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

Shaisha watched the dissent in the ranks of the Jedi with a polite smile, though she stayed clear of the food.

The meal was a wash, but at least the show was improving.

Sylvain sat next to Shaisha and smiled as well. Democracy had such wonderful side-effects sometimes.

Galen finally chose to speak up.

"Has it occurred to any of you that she litterally does not see anything in the same way that the rest of us do? She sees through the Force and trusts fully in what it shows her. It does not excuse what happened here, but I can understand how she might overlook the social consequences of what she intended, while focusing on the vision that guided her to it. She didn't expect this reaction, just as we did not expect to be drugged." he shrugged. "Naivete or ignorance, perhaps, or maybe she's kept herself too distant from others. But, we could all learn to appreciate other perspectives."

[Alysele Cortess]

The Force fuck us all.

This was..... improving? "Certainly. While the execution was erring, the result is something worthy of discussion. I know I have a different perspective now then before."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"I'm surprised the Jedi would allow someone so oblivious of something as sinple as 'don't drug your dinner guests' to attend as as representative for peace talks" Aphr commented idly as she looked at Galen.

[Galen Sol]

"My understanding was that she wasn't here for the peace talks." he shrugged.

[Baesal Zyn]

Baesal chose to ignore that other guy since, well, his argument felt somewhat empty. Instead she replied to Remmington and Yslane.

She began with ''But I am not angry''

That which was true...she had been calm throught out her explaination

''And I made no insult...what I said is exactly what is teached and learned on Korriban.'' She decided to munch a piece of vegetable

''The Sith do not tolerate much deviation from their orthodoxy and they employ inquisitors to search for any deemed to be 'dissidents'. Any who aligns with the light side should be wary''

At she made a subtle glance at Remmington

You are in danger, you just outed yourself!

[Yslane Tssilla]

Yslane closed her eyes and sighed as the pink Twi'Lek and her fellow Jedi made their comments. Opening them back up she turned her eyes to the Sith. The Order was certainly not putting its best foot forward at this point. Nothing she could think of would help any further, the situation would either escalate or it wouldn't...regardless, it seemed, of her intervention.

[Sylvain Torsin]

Sylvain merely returned Yslane's look with a suppotive smile.

This is what people get when they take in traitors.

He then stood, "This seems to have developed into something of an unpleasant internal affair. Perhaps it is best if we recuse ourselves. Shall we sister?"

[Aphr Ahaya]

Aphr looked towards the Sith, hiding a small smile.

The Sith really came out of this looking good...

She remained quiet though, listening to the conversations as the Jedi argued with themselves. It really was a mess.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

Smirking, Shaisha nodded in agreement with her fellow Sith.

"Best to give them time to... work it out," she chuckled. "Lady Alysele, have a nice day."

The Alderaanian Jedi had at least tried to smooth out the situation despite being thrown into it.

[Baesal Zyn]

Baesal heard the diminutive sith's comment but shrugged it of. She figured it would be normal for conditionned sheeps to find an honest exchange of ideas somewhat alien to their psyche.

If they were intellectually efficient they could see the value...

She could not help but pity their limitation

Sylvain simply smiled, took his sister's hand to help her stand regally and then bid farewell to the group.

"The same can be said of the Jedi from certain view points." Remmington replies calmly.

He offers his farewell to the departing siblings.

He looks back at Baesal. "The teachings are clear for both the Jedi and the Sith. Though are you saying that there is no room for interpretation in either philosophy? That they are rigid and unyielding as stone?" He comments while not pointing any fingers.

[Baesal Zyn]

Baesal returned her attention to Remmington and she arched an eyebrow listening to him

''First, not really. Second, I never said that and you are not seeing the whole picture''

''The Jedi Order is, by all accounts, more open to discussion about their teachings and different interpretation of them. While there is a unifying structure one is expected to adhere to, one can still part from it. Meanwhile, the Sith Empire intertwined religion, policy and politics to brutally enforces the orthodoxy of its creed in order to consolidate power.''

She strokes her chin

''That is sadly not a matter of opinion Remmington...its a fact. One that actually puts you in danger because, if you are truly honest, you just outed yourself as aligned with the light and truly wishing for peace.''

''This is a perfect exemple of it...would we still be on Korriban both Aphr and I would be severely punished for speaking up to Master Mersl. We would either be tortured, whipped or possibly even executed as exemples. She herself might suffer a fate not dissimilar of of us were the son or daughter of a powerful noble or Darth since drugging us would be view as a slight. Thankfully, we are Jedi. While I am certain disagreement will remain, we will have the chance to think on the matter and nobody is going to kill anybody.''

[Remmington Thalalas]

"The Emperor wishes for peace. I am doing what the Emperor bids. Are you saying that the Emperor is now a Light Side user as well?" Remmington asks.

"The Empire values strength. When disputes come up they are usually settled quickly. Once again, not every master does that. Everyone has their own ways to discipline their underlings Baesal. Even the Jedi have limits on their patience.

If no one ever kills then why are their laws against it? Why are we having peace talks rather than being in peace?"

[Baesal Zyn]

''If you took the time to listen you would realise I did not conflate the two...The Emperor wishes for peace for his own reasons, reasons I am sure he as not revealed to you. Furthermore you speak like you know the Jedi, Remmington. Alas it is not so.'' She replies

''I also remind you that I was Sith, I know well how the the society is structured and my knowledge of the Sith doctrines was only second to that of Lady Jun-Tsu in our class. When I speak of the Sith it it not merely based on my opinion, my personnal observations but also on a wealth of documentation written by the Sith for the Sith.''

[Remmington Thalalas]

"So you are saying that you know the Jedi? In the less than a year you have spent with them?" Remmington asks.

[Galen Sol]

This was a fascinating and informative discussion. Galen sat and listened closely to the two of them.

[Baesal Zyn]

"So you are saying that you know the Jedi? In the less than a year you have spent with them?" Remmington asks.

''More then you, certainly. I have read and learned. Observed and understood. The Order is not perfect, but nothing is...but they at least are willing to listen.''

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods. "Well I wish you the best in the future Baesal. You seem to be enjoying your time with the Jedi." He smiles pleasantly.
