D1 ME - Playing Catch Up (Private Transport Ship)

[Nunki Malyna]

Nunki approached the communications console, putting in a code she takes off her datapad. In front of her, a holographic image of Satele Shan appears. Nunki places the datapad to her side, and speaks.

"Hello, Master Shan. I hope you've been well. I should be arriving tomorrow morning. Has there been any significant development so far?" She, of course, knew the answer, but felt the need to ask anyway.

[Satele Shan]

Satele says, “Nunki, it is good to see you, I am glad you will be able to make it. Outside of keeping the peace and maintaining something close to a peaceful summit there has been a few troubling incidents. There were two explosions at the spaceport targeting Sith ships, and of course the Empire blames the Republic.”

“When you arrive I would like for you to look into these incidences and find the culprit. If it is Republic we will hand them over to SIS, if not we will deal with the proper authorities which means dealing with the Hutts.”

Upon hearing about the explosions, Nunki shakes her head. Not a good start to a peace summit...

"What docking bays were they in? I can make some calls, see if they have security footage. Hopefully whatever Hutt owns that place will be willing to work with me. If not I can try and bypass them, maybe whatever first responders there were, security personnel... " She goes silent for a moment, before raising an eyebrow and asking, "Whose ships got hit? If I know them, I may be able to talk to them directly. Maybe some of them will still be a bit friendly to me. It could also give us a motive."

[Satele Shan]

“Sith are not known for their acceptance of betrayal but maybe these will be different. The ships belonged to a Sith in service to Darth Baras named Layne Hoshin and the other serves Darth Marr, her name is Kristal Serasai. I can send you the dock numbers,” she offers.

“I have let Kidaja the Hutt know we will be looking into this, so he will expect a Jedi. I know you will use your best judgment in discovering the culprit.”

She nods, recognizing the names.

"Normally, no, they are not. But these are peace talks, and they probably want to know who did it as much as we do. I think I can convince them to at least cooperate some what. I will reach out to them tonight, and investigate the docking bays tomorrow morning when I land."

"As for the Hutt..." she trails off for a moment. "What do we know about him? I don't recall dealing with him last time I was here."

[Dapper Dog]

“Kidaja is a criminal, an enforcer for Dango the Hutt, not that he gets his hands dirty. But he runs the spaceport in her name and handles all the leg breaking duties as far as we have determined. He is a thug but a thug with a lot of power and resources. Not as crafty as Dango but still dangerous,” Satele warns.

"I will keep that in mind, thank you. As for the Sith, I don't recall much controversy around Layne, but Kristal Serasai is the daughter of a Moff, and I recall her father being executed and branded a traitor after the Minister of War was killed. Which means these are certainly politically charged attacks, and possibly even from somebody with Imperial loyalties."

She takes some notes in her datapad, then looks back up to the holographic Jedi Master. "Send me the dock numbers when you have the chance. I'll give you an update as soon as I have something for you. I can start making the calls now."

[Dapper Dog]

“May the Force be with you, Nunki,” she relays the information as requested and ends the holo call.
