The ship lands on the massive asteroid that makes up the bulk of Seven Devils and the trio are lead to a squat structure on the outskirts of the settlement. Inside is the woman both have seen before in armor and a zabrak in a kolto tank. Medical systems are monitoring his health and the crude but effective lab looks to have everything one would need for a shady operation.
The woman says surprise evident in her modulate voice, "I should have known you would want to be here, Kristal." She turns to Ashla and says, "Doctor there is a datapad with the details of the operation, best you familiarize yourself. Jereza will assist you with the operaion.
Jereza the wookiee growls in annoyance and then starts prepping for the procedure.
OOC: Ashla make a Knowledge Education check at Hard to understand the procedure.

"You sent word that you had a solution to the problem?" she asked her mother, joining her closer by her side.

The procedure is pretty high tech if successful it should create an interface from the brain to a computer and download essentially memories... it's all a little crazy to get one's head around but that is the gist of the report. The woman waits quietly resting her hand on her rifle.
OOC: She gets a setback die for failure but as boost die due to the Advantage. Now for the procedure, it is a Hard Medicine check, if she wants the Zabrak to live it is Daunting. I am spending a Republic Destiny to upgrade one purple die to a red. Allowing the Zabrak to die will generate 4 Conflict for Ashla.

"I have a solution that gets me information, and denies Torsin any advantage," she counters.

"You still do not trust him then?" she asked, a daughter seeking to understand. "And what is this solution?"

"We scour his brain for everything he knows, it will probably kill him," she says cooly.
"And no, I don't trust Torsin. That isn't going to change. He's a lovesick conspirator at best, a lying twisted monster at worst."

The zabrak starts to go into siezures as the procedure goes very poorly... she could save his life or she can try and get the data.
OOC: Medicine Average check with a setback, to save his life or try to salvage the data and left him die.

"You would do that to the man who saved your life?" she asked incredulously, almost perfectly highlighted by the moment going on around them. "Regardless of what you believe Sylvain to be."

"They have taken everything from us, I owe the Empire nothing and I feel for the Zabrak, but I can't let sentimentality get in the way of vengeance," she says honestly.
OOC: Was Ashla saving him, or the data?

OOC: Saving him.

The zabrak is nearly lost but the togruta physician is able to put him into a controlled coma and save his life but for now he won't be helping anyone for the short term. The armored woman says to Ashla, "You failed."

"Well, I saved his life. The procedure can be attempted again, if not at the moment."

Seeing that the man survived, Kristal was relieved but still held a bit of anger in her stomach from what her mother was trying to do. Speaking low, letting some of that disappointment seep into her tone Kristal said,"They have taken everything but our spirit, who we are, and you would give them that as well?" she asked her mother. Showing herself to not be a little girl anymore.

"Nine hundred credits for saving his life," she says bitterly. She tosses Ashla a data chit.

"We were betrayed, the people that did that don't care about Honor or justice. I am
tired... I want them to hurt. I want to kill them," she says bitterly.
"This is the woman I was before I met your father, and he's dead. I am done doing things his way."

Ashla takes the credits and pockets them. She wasn't going to argue or say anything that might make the woman decide to kill her instead.

"Which is precisely why we still should," she said, not sure if she sounded more defeated or disappointed at this point. "Killing them simply for revenge doesn't fix how they have wronged us. It doesn't vindicate Father or help this Empire, it doesn't help us at all."

"What do you suggest Kris, we do nothing?" she says bitterly.

"We expose them for the liars and betrayers they are, we pull their scheming out from the shadows for the whole Empire to see and allow whatever justice the Empire finds most fitting befall them," she said, finding some hope in the question. "We restore the name of the Serasai, my Father, and destroy our enemies, the right way."

"I am not sure I can do that, Kris," her mother replies after looking at her for a long time.
"I think that's your journey. Not mine."
She starts walking towards the zabrak and says to the wookiee, "Jereza take them back to Nar Shaddaa, we are done here."

Kristal reaches out carefully with her left hand and grabs her mothers arm just as she begins to walk away, the firm grip of cybernetics beneath the glove a little shock but it wasn't a strong grip by far just unrelenting in it's metallic nature.
"Help me," she pleaded softly.

Ashla knows she should not be hearing this, but as long as they are not killing her, she's good. She also makes notes that maybe, just maybe, she should stop with the ethically dubious medical practices for unknown employers. That's how she winds up working for the Sith.

Her mother stops and for a moment she resists and then sighs. She turns and says, "We can try it your way, but I won't work with Torsin. Just can't. Not after everything that has happened."

"I won't force you to," she said, not wishing to push too far right now. Looking to her mother with the warmth of a smile that never made it to her lips. "Thank you."
