[D1 LE] Devour the Heart-Eater

[Zeno Deathwright]

Zeno uses the stim he got in the earlier threat briefing as he trudges through the wilds towards the old factory he got coordinates for, his lightsabers in hand making it clear he wasn't looking for a chat. He was looking for a heart-eater's head.

Zeno had a bit of difficulty in the nasty environment. The booster stim helped, but not enough.

Zeno gets the feeling he is being watched as he trudges through the smelly mire, the sunlight breaks through the wretched canopy and the heat is sweltering. The sounds of buzzing insects fill the air they bite at him but otherwise are a minor annoyance.

The Deathwright Sith doesn't seem to give a damn if he's being watched at all and wasn't trying to hide his presence. He checks his datapad to make sure he's going in the right direction towards the factory before putting it away and continuing on.

[Dapper Dog]

The factory comes into view and there are fires and smoke and several squatters milling about within the shadow of the factory. They rise many of them seem to be evocii but also some humans and twi;leks and other species.

They look at the Sith with suspicion.

He approaches. "I'm looking for the Heart-eater. Point me in the direction," he states flatly. He seems to give zero shits about who these people are.

[Dapper Dog]

An evocii woman says, "Ain't no on here by that name stranger. Best you move on."

[Zeno Deathwright]

"I can just collect every evocii head in this swamp, or you can tell me what I want to know," he says igniting his lightsabers. "Lose one or many, your choice."

[Dapper Dog]

She backs up, “Look I don’t know any Heart Eater, you want information go talk to Kaya, she runs this place. We don’t want any trouble.”

The woman points to the main structure of the abandoned factory.

"Thank you for your compliance," he says, turning off the lightsabers before heading into the factory.

[Dapper Dog]

The central structure is I disrepair but parts have been turned into living spaces, the people live crude lives with not much tech. The swamp is brutal on most things and rust is everywhere.

A powerful looking woman is discussing something some evocii but she herself foes not look evocii.

[Zeno Deathwright]

"I'm looking for Kaya," he says to the group that are speaking. "I was told she'd be in here and I've got questions."

[Dapper Dog]

She crosses her hands across her chest, “You found her. I got some time, be quick, we have things to do.”

[Zeno Deathwright]

"I'm looking for the heart-eater. I'd prefer to just kill one person and not have a bunch of folks get caught up in it. Prefer, but not unwilling."

[Dapper Dog]

“Threats,” she says dismissively.

“You must be a Hutt toadie, look the Heart-Eater is a myth, it’s just us out here and we got it bad enough without Hutts mucking things up. We pay the protection fees, we don’t bother anyone. I suggest you keep looking if you don’t believe me,” she says.

OOC: Successful Deception but Zeno notices the people around him are uneasy either with him being a Sith or the subject matter, it's unclear.

"The Hutts want the head of the heart-eater, so I can bring one back that they'd recognize as the heart-eater or I can bring back a lot of them and let them sort through them. And if they're not happy with the ones I bring back I can just collect more. It makes no difference to me," he replies with a shrug.

"Gimme a heart-eater and they won't have a reason to mess with you for a bit. Don't and you just continue giving them a reason to come at you with mercs and assassins. You want reprieve you have to sacrifice. I don't really want to be out here hunting heads either, but I want something so I have to sacrifice."

[Dapper Dog]

She thinks on that and then says, “You got a name stranger, it is easier for me to do business with someone with a name.”

[Zeno Deathwright]

"Lord Zeno Deathwright," he replies. "Zeno is fine."

"None of you are Republicans so honestly I have nothing against you, but there is something I need and the cost is one heart-eater's head. Whether it's a myth or not doesn't change the price. Produce a heart-eater that will satisfy the Hutts and I'll be out of your hair, you have my word. Otherwise things have to get more complicated and deadly than anyone here likely wants."

[Dapper Dog]

Kaya says, “Zeno.”

“You must be one of those Sith I have heard about, never seen one till now. Look we just want to be left alone but you are asking a lot for us to just sacrifice one of our own… unless.”

She gestures to a villager and they confer briefly and then she says, “Come back in the morning and we can sort this out. I think we have a way to help each other.”

[Zeno Deathwright]

"Just keep in mind that if the Hutts are unsatisfied I won't get what I need and will have to return until I do. I'm sure you and your people would prefer to be left alone as much as you can manage and I'd prefer not to spend the negotiations on Nar Shaddaa not attending them," he replies.

"And if any plan you come up with relies on me trying to talk around the issue with the Hutts... well, as you can tell I'm a bit more straightforward than that and they'll figure it out easily enough." Zeno nods farewell to the woman. "I'll see you in the morning Kaya."

[Dapper Dog]

“You’ll have a head, you have my word,” she says honestly.

“You know where to find us, Zeno.”

OOC: make a Force rating roll.

He nods once more, before turning to head out, the force not giving anything to the Sith Lord.

They give the Sith Lord a wide berth, he has no problems making it back to his speeder.
