Safe as houses (D4, LM)

[Jo'ren Rath]

The Infinite Destiny looked much the same as before. Jo'ren was wearing his new armour and ready for trouble down on the planet. This time he was bringing Malak, just in case whatever he was looking for was hidden away. Plus it would be good for the grumpy old South Lord to get out a bit.

He looked over at HK. "So, you been keeping busy tin can?"

[Dapper Dog]

HK says, "Statement: liquidation of meatbags has occupied only a small percentage of my day to day duties. I hope to rectify this immediately."

[Jo'ren Rath]

"That's a sad story pal. Anyone you'd like to liquidate in particular? I can point you in the right direction of you like?"

He winked at the others. "Sounds like you must've been really busy if tin can's blasters are running cold. Anything fun on Makeb?"

[Dapper Dog]

Kalen responds as he guides the ship towards descent, “Running quiet jobs, the Hutts have been prepping things for this summit so things have been real tight around here. Plus you got the Crescent Shadow trying to use the chaos for their own ends. Best to keep yourself small, and the violence minimal.”

[Jo'ren Rath]

Jo'ren nodded thoughtfully at that. "Sounds smart. I've run across this Crimson Shadow a few times now. What are they all about? I've heard they are fighting to free the people from Hutt slavery, but I'd it true, or just a cover for violence and something else?"

[Dapper Dog]

Kalen responds, “I try not to get involved with pissing off the Hutt Cartels, these folks make a business out of it. If they want freedom more power to them, but the Hutt are entrenched here bowing up a building here and killing a boss there is small creds. It’s not going to work.”

[Jo'ren Rath]

"Yeah, they ain't gonna get very far with the Hutts. Tenacious old slugs. Makes me wonder if there's some other play, or if they're just not that smart." He shrugged. "Anyway, it's good to see you guys again. Sounds like things are working out."

He paused. "You seen much of Thy since you dropped her off?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Yeah a few times, she calls us in when she needs a favor just like a certain Sith,” he says as he makes checks to descend.

“She isn’t staying out of trouble, she tends to go looking for it. You talked to her much after the dust off on Korriban?”

[Jo'ren Rath]

"Heh, good for her. I guess we're both keeping you busy then. I'd be worried if she kept of trouble, like, she'd been possessed or something."

He grinned. "We stay in touch. Sometimes more than others. Been quiet lately but I know she's here. Kinda planning to see her soon."

[Dapper Dog]

Kalen nods as he breaks into the atmosphere and then drops quickly just above the trees, skimming with ease. He says to Jo’ren, “Sounds to me like your sweet on the Jedi. Isn’t that like the most classic love story there is, the whole forbidden fruit thing?”

“Well whatever is going on, give her my best and tell her Gorby misses her.” The wookiee roars in agreement.

Kalen sets the ship down gently right on target. He smirks and adds, “HK assist the Sith, I am going to check to make sure we don’t have any surprises from the Hutts.”

"..." Jo'ren raised a finger and was about to protest until he realised maybe Kalen had a point.

"You shut up sir." He laughed. "And of course I'll tell her."

As the ship landed he whistled. "Nice work pal, perfect landing. Okay tin can, it's you and me again, let's do this!" He jumped out and looked around at the scenery. "Alright, let's find this safe house."

[Dapper Dog]

HK sayas, "Statement: I am an apex assassin droid, meatbag."

The droid follows Jo'ren off the ship.

OOC: Perception roll versus average with a boost die to find the safe house. Setback due to overgrowth, boost die for being pretty much on the spot.

"Yeah buddy, I know it. Okay let's find this... Oh look, here it is!" Kalen's expert flying had put them in the right spot and he quickly found the safe house.

The overgrowth of the swamp had obscured the entrance but he was able to pick it out and go down into the structure that had seen better days. It looks to have been picked over by scavengers and other folks, much of the interior is rusted and in a poor state.

HK says, "Statement: at least it is not flooded."

[Jo'ren Rath]

"Too true HK, too true." Looking around with obvious disappointment he pressed on into the structure, calling on the force in an attempt to find what he sought. 300 years of decay was to be expected, but Revan and Malak did not seem like the sort of people who would leave anything to chance. There was something tingling in his senses.

"Hmm, all may not be lost..."

D4. Safe house. Sense or Seek roll for clues: 1eF 1 Dark Side

[Dapper Dog]

There is something here that feels dark... it seems to be emanating behind a metallic panel covered in moss and grime.

[Jo'ren Rath]

"Yes. Here. Something is hidden behind this sheet of metal." Jo'ren indicated the panel and attempted to shift it himself.

[Dapper Dog]

The panel rips open easily to reveal a crystal, not a kyber one but precious gem with etchings on it.

[Jo'ren Rath]

"Huh, well now isn't that interesting HK?" Jo'ren pulled out a torch and attempted to make out the etchings. He was expecting more of the ancient Sith script.

[Dapper Dog]

They look more like a diagram but the etchings are tiny and hard to make out. HK says, "Query: this does not appear to be a crystal useful for your crude lightsaber."

"Query: Is this what you are looking for, meatbag?"

[Jo'ren Rath]

"Crude? That saber ain't crude tin can. But no, it seems to be some sort of map or set of plans."

He looked around the rest of the ruined building.

"I'm pretty sure this is the thing I was looking for. Can you make out what it is?"

[Dapper Dog]

HK replies, "Assessment: A crude map, most likely built to be projected with light."

[Jo'ren Rath]

"Alright, let's get back to the ship and check it out." He took one more look around the safe house. "Three hundred years in this atmosphere really wrecked this place.

Assuming there was nothing else here Jo'ren and HK head back to the ship.

[Dapper Dog]

HK follows and says, "Assessment: the Hutts are not known for their elegant craftsmanship. Or is this the native meatbags? Both are subpar."

[Jo'ren Rath]

"True. I figure it's Hutt design, they've been in charge here a long time." It occurred to Jo'ren that Malak might know if there was anything further to find here, so he pulled the Holocron out and activated it.

"My Lord, I have found a crystal that appears to contain a map. It seems likely that this is what we need. Was there anything else hidden in your old safehouse? If not I shall return you to the ship so that we can decrypt this."
