"The Mistress feels for the Empire, but that just can't happen. There is a wedding in a few days, my Mistress may attend or send a representative, I am sure the evocii should be well by then. That is the best we can manage," he responds unmoved by the story.

"Time is of the essence in the matter we speak of, and as you've just witnessed the Empire knows that time is a precious commodity." She gestured toward Hala. "I do hope we will be informed of the earliest opportunity to speak with the Evocii. Weddings are truly marvelous occasions for a meeting, but subjects like dark slave cults are not exactly auspicious enough to be broached during one. Though we would likely attend if we are invited." She paused. "In the meantime, perhaps there are databases or other records the scholar uses that could be made available to speed up our inquiry."

Jeeg listens and seems annoyed as he responds, "Your haste has nothing to do with me, you can access our databases since you seem so insistent..."

And that is when things start to explode... a one of the towers falls over and then the shields go down as as two spacecraft rain down death from above... staying in the garden is a bad place to be as ship weapons are decimating the place without the shield... and everything was going so well.

Hala immediately fell into a crouch reflexively as heavy weapons strafed the area. She shot her eyes upwards, trying to catch a glimpse of the ships that had struck so suddenly or catch the whine of their engines, keying her pad to record what it could pick up, and started hurrying towards the palace center to move out of the line of fire.

Jo'ren lifted a finger, about to ask a question, at which point the attack began. He looked over at the Mandalorians. "Might want to hand over my shit if you want to fight this off." He moved up to the guards and held out his hands. "Also: what the fuck?"

[What would be the check to make Jeeg rally the Bralors and return weapons as we run for the cover, or do a successful rallying cry ourselves? What is the nearest cover? Is there a check to get there?]

OOC: Hard Leadership check and an Athletics or Coordination check at Average with a setback due to the chaos to get to cover away from the attacks. The Mandalorians are firing back but personal scale weapons are not all that effective against space craft.

Jo'ren was able to find his place, escaping from the crazy and managing to find cover against the barrage. What the hell was happening?

Moyr got entangled amid the plants and could not reach the cover. That kept her close to the Mandalorians though.

"Hoy! What do we need to do to mount a defense?" Hala called over the din of the fight, but it fell on deaf ears. In her scramble towards cover she tripped and fell but was able to scramble up and away from the exposed area.

Locked where she was, Moyr saw Hala's call being ignored, so she made her own.

"Sons of Bralor! Get Jeeg and seek cover! Give the True Sith his sabres back! It's a good day for someone else to die!"

After that, Moyr needed a way to get vainish from attention of the gunners above.

The trio take cover well all but Moyr who is caught in the line fire and suffers some harrowing damage but eventually the ships are pushed back as the Hutt's security forces band together. Jeeg is suitably upset and says, "I think it is time you go now. My Mistress has better things to do at the moment than worry about your requests."

The Mandalorians chat among themselves mentioning a Crescent Shadow and seem to be holding this group responsible for the attack.

It was no time to be dragged down by injuries. Moyr quickly applied a stim for hastened regeneration and moved toward the Mandalorians before Jeeg and the rest would would catch up, letting Hala handle the majordomo. Hopefully, she earned some respect with her leadership in 'captain leaves the ship last' style.

"Does this happen often, the raids?"

"Crescent Shadow are getting bolder," he says to the twi'lek.

"Nothing we can't handle."

"No doubt about it. But you probably have to retaliate at some point. Is there a place on Nal Hutta to hit where it would hurt them?"

The Mandalorian responds, "They work in cells, they don't build bases."

"They have to dock those ships somewhere." Moyr pointed out. "There must be a region they feel more comfortable to operate from."

"Of course," Hala replied in an understanding tone of voice.

"If you can keep a track on those raiders, I could ask around if anyone wants to go hunting for them.... Perhaps The Umbral Vanguard... But I wish you well in getting this mess sorted and answered for and do let me know when the scholar is feeling better?"

[Dapper Dog]

Jeeg says, "It's time for you to leave. You want to find the Crescent Shadow then do so and show the Hutts the resourcefulness of your Empire."

"Otherwise I have things I must do. Now go."

The majordomo has them escorted back to the base... they get their gear back.

Moyr scoffed on the way back to the ship, still favouring one leg.

"Everything is an uphill battle. Now at least we know that the rebellion in this system is getting real. Crescent Shadow. I don't expect you can get much on them, Hala?"

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"I'm not sure, but if I come across something then I will let you know my lord," she said pensively, watching the sky lest the raiders return on their way back to the ship.

"Your impressions and insights from the encounter? Advisable course of action?"

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"I think that much of the progress was lost in the raid since their attention was lost. If you must speak with the Evocii, we will have to start over unless we can deal with the Crescent Shadow. That said, we have lost little more than time."
