Nar Shaddaa

Javagus had carefully landed the Noxious Dream in the indicated landing area, which ended up being a large and relatively flat rock in an otherwise unremarkable patch of jungle, and made his way down the loading ramp to enjoy some of the semi-toxic atmosphere of Nal Hutta. His nose wrinkled up at the smell, and he idly fingered the gas mask on his belt as he waited for the Mandalorians to finish their preparations.

He and Shae hadn't talked much about the hunting trip the night before, but now that he was down on the planet's surface, he was regretting not having asked for more details about the planned hunt.

"Lovely planet," he murmurs, his gaze turning toward the discolored skies. "Like everythin' on the planet just started fartin' and never got around to stoppin'."

A trio of Mandalorians are not far from the landing spot, their own ship hidden by the brush and trees. They are in full armor and turn to regard the business man. One he recognized as Shae approaches and removes her helmet and says, "Welcome to Nal Hutta, cyare. Ready for the hunt?"

"About as ready as I suppose I'll get." He grins down at her from the docking ramp, putting on a bit more enthusiasm than he felt. "What's the quarry?"

"Hutt guards have spotted a junior acklay in the region, things are damn vicious full grown. So keeping it easy for the aruetii," she says.

"Did you bring the weapons? I wanted to give them a test run."

Javagus hooks a thumb over his shoulder. "Right inside. Help yourselves."

Shae nods to the other Mandalorians who head up the ramp to grab some cases. Shae says, "You ever seen an acklay?"

"Not in person. Some sorta crab-mantis-thing, ain't it?"

Shae chuckles lightly and says, “Of course, it’s not native to Nal Hutta but the Hutts have brought all kinds of creatures here for their pens for entertainment and sport. They thrive in the swamps, have chitin as hard as ship armor and claws that can cut a man in half with ease. Should make for good prey.”

The Mandalorians open the crates and they check the weapons with enthusiasm.

Shae picks up a heavy blaster rifle from the crate and inspects it, “Not bad, cyare. I usually don’t put my trust in unknown weapons but Corso wants an idea of their worth.”

"I'm hopin' they work out for ya. Picked 'em up a few days ago from someone that was havin' import problems." He moseys on over to the crates as they look through them. "Probably a good idea to give 'em a test outside the ship before we get to the huntin' part. Better safe than sorry, eh?"

“Yeah, best to sight them in,” she responds taking aim at a tree and adjusting the sights. The other two follow suit and spend some time acclimating themselves to the weapons.

“Mando’ade, gear up. Vayle on point, Bori bring up the rear, cyare with me. Stay alert.” Vayle nods and takes point finding the trail of their quarry with ease… but in reality he was walking into a trap when the creature nearly as tall as a man drops from a tree and and starts carving into his armor!

OOC: Vayle easily picks up the trail but is careless... Threat used for ambush on Vayle. Roll a simple Vigilance check for Initiative.

Shae is quick on the mark and raises her new blaster and takes careful aim before launching a spray of blaster fire into the creature, her accurate shot not even oming close to harming her allies!

She says to Javagus, “Take the shot!”

OOC: That is correct. The acklay as at Short range to Shae and Javagus and engaged with the Mando Goons. It has Adversary 1 which means it upgrades the difficulty of attacks against by 1, turning 1 purple die into a red die, difficulty to challenge die. It has Melee defense 1 as well.

Shae hits for 14 wounds and generates a second hit with Auto-Fire, after wounds that is 8 wounds each for a total of 16 wounds! She grants the next ally a boost die, which is Javagus. At short rang the difficulty of Ranged attacks is 1eD since it has Adversary that is upgraded to 1eC. it is also engaged with the mando squad which upgrades the difficulty further to 1eD+1eC.

OOC: Javagus could use the advantage to give his allies boost dice or increase his own defense if he wants. 3 to imrove his defense 1 to add a boost die to next ally or 2 advantage to pick an ally to give a boost die to or a combo thereof.

Let's use 1 to add boost to next ally and 2 to give a boost to Shae

The Mandalorian draws a dagger while the other aids his buddy and they do nothing to the acklay but they distract it enough to buy time for Shae.

Shae takes careful seeing the opening and fires several pinpoint accurate shots and puts the creature down. She smiles under he helmet and says, “These will do, cyare. These will do.”

OOC: Missed but grant next ally a Boost die and remove the Melee Defense from the Acklay. She deals 10 wounds and a second and a third hit with Advantage for 10 and 10 more it dies.

"Nice shootin', love." He tucks his blaster pistol back underneath his robes and moves closer to the creature. "Ugly bastard, isn't it?"

Shaw nods and says, “These are good weapons, damn good. Where the hell did you get these from? I mean I am not replacing my own gear but I might just keep this one for my personal arsenal.”

“Acklays are ugly as piss but you have to respect them. I have seen one full grown and it shrugged off blaster bolts like they were gnats. It was ugly business bringing that thing down, lost a few good friends that day. Better to kill them when they are young unless you want to prove yourself.”

"Oh, you know how it is. You're sittin' around, talkin' 'bout weapons of mass destruction when someone mentions that they've got a bunch of weapons laying 'round..."

Javagus shrugs. "Seems like plenty of provin' even when they're young."

Looking to the other Mandalorians, he hooks a thumb over his shoulder back towards his ship. "How about we head back, shake hands on this deal, and have ourselves a drink of celebration?"

Shae chuckles from beneath her helmet and says, “Had enough of Nal Hutta, already?”

“That sounds like a good idea.”

She commands to the others, “Mando’ade, gal, ori'skraan, riduur, yaim' dab'ika!” Both cheer and start dragging the corpse.

“You’re buying, cyare,” she says slapping him on the back.

"I was holdin' onto some drinks for just such an occasion."

He grins as he watches them start hauling the corpse toward their ship.

"Interested in ridin' back with me? I've got some Corelian brandy stashed away. We could start celebratin' early."

“Yeah, I got some time to kill. Give the boys something to keep them busy and we can celebrate.”

The Mandalorians drag the creature onto their transport and then remove their helmets and look to Javagus. Shae offers her hand to Khan and says, “And yeah Corso will be taking those weapons.”

"Great." He smiles and shakes her hand. "Have him transfer the credits over and we can unload the weapons whenever."

Still holding her hand, he starts walking backwards towards the ship while smirking.

“You’re lucky you are cute, or I would probably have to shoot that smirk off your face,” she says as she follows him up the ramp.

"I applaud your restraint." Once inside, he raises the docking ramp, swings by the kitchen for a bottle of brandy, and then heads towards the cockpit. "Help yourself," he says, tossing her the bottle. "Damn fine shootin' out there."
