Nar Shaddaa

The Bitch was approaching the coordinates of the Hollow Lake, guided by Moyr's steady hand. She had sent Gunnie to chat with Craw and had let Hala to take co-pilot seat for a quiet conversation.

"So how'd you end up working for her?" Craw asked Gunnie, nodding towards the cockpit. His helmet was off, for now, but he was otherwise fully suited up.

Gunnie was disassembling and cleaning her blaster, sitting in the mess hall.



"Through Vorn, you may know him as he's a Vizsla, dreadlocked Chiss. Was bald before, honestly I dunno how he grew these hair so fast. I owed him a favour, and he called on me to help with the guns when we were pimping this ship for her. I like the guns I calibrated, me and her get along as neither of us likes to talk too much, it has followed from there. I don't know how far back Vorn and her go though, so don't ask me about it."

She apparently was more talkative when distracted with something she liked doing. Also, she spoke in Mando'a, with no Basic.

Craw paused. He responded in mando'a himself, another question. "You know any other Chiss-Mandalorians?"

"Not really. Don't take me for someone worldly. I stick with my clan, and Vorn is the only Vizsla Chiss." She started on the barrel. "Though I guess you ask for a reason."

Craw coughed dryly. "Yeah, trying to track down my Fiancee. She was a chiss, clan Cadera."

"Caderas are scum." She looked at him with utmost reproof. He could well have told her that he had dated a wampa.

Craw shrugged. "Each their own. I love her, not her clan. And she and her clan hate my ass." He chuckled darkly.

"And you're telling me about your very poor life choices because...?" She spat out, very unimpressed.

"I talk when I'm stressed." He shrugged."You mentioning the other Chiss brought this to mind so..."

"You should get your shit together, Craw. Whoring yourself to the traitors of Mandalore won't get you friends among your own. Tobogas were with Vizslas last time I checked, and that's the only reason we're still talking."

Hala glanced back from her remote readouts, practicing the direct control mode a little further.

"Better autonomous at this rate," she grumbled.

"There is a sunken pyramid at the bottom of a big lake. It has a monster of a guardian, probably resembling a thrash eel to an extent, though over 30-metre long. The beast is allegedly sentient, though its intentions are unknown and it has yet to be contacted in any manner. Visibility in the lake is low. The purpose of our outing is to get a better understanding what this creature is, and to find the entrance to the pyramid."

Moyr got over the grumbling straight to the point.

"Which, by the way, is probably a great concentration of Dark Vergence."

"So the mission is to use the remotes and try to make contact with it?" Hala asked, her attention still on the display screen before her.

"Make nice with it, don't get punched? Or did you have something more confrontational in mind?"

"It would be ideal if it just let the exploration group pass, so we may try to bargain with it i it's possible. If not, we need a more explosive plan. Right now, let's focus on fact-finding. I haven't got this far to be eaten by some sea monster someone found fancy to put in a lake." She prepared them for the landing. "I believe the pyramid holds very old and dangerous secrets. I count on your discretion."

"I am always discrete, my lord," she said with a nod.

For a moment, Moyr focused on the landing. "Are your drones fully functional? How many of them do you have?"

"A few, it's supposed to be a miniature spy network," she said, turning the display panel in front of her to face the Sith lord.

Moyr gave it a cursory look, then nodded.

"If you have packed any protective wear, go suit up. The weather is bad down there."

Upon landing Moyr went out to complete her own preparations, sending Gunnie back to the cockpit and turning Virginia on as she was going with them. She was the first to go down the ramp.

"What protective gear?" she asked with a wry smile while she massaged her elbow.

"For a swamp.", had been the answer.

The lake is dark and calm besides the constant rain from above. One cannot see the other side when they stand at the edge of the lake, and the lake edge translates from swampy brush to dark still waters... it is eerily quiet around the lake.

It had been a while since Hala was in a wholly alien or exposed location, but wandering around in one did not seem to be visibly damaging her calm.

"Everything looks calm down here, my lord," Hala chimed over her comm-link in a practiced military fashion, "Establishing a perimeter."

She drew her unreasonably small weapon and stepped away from the ship to help push forward.

Moyr, however, for some reason, couldn't brace herself enough to not be affected by the sudden exposure to the gloom of the place...

Craw felt the darkness in the lake and wanted no part of it.
