Nar Shaddaa

Leaving the spaceport with Anthy and Jitter watching the ship, Shaisha decided to trust in the old Jedi master in that this Hollow Lake was a known local thing, and asked the locals of where she might find it.

She still wasn't quite sure what she was looking for, but a part of her just felt the need to retrace the steps she had taken long ago.

OOC: Seek or Survival at Hard with a setback.

Swampy Nal Hutta wasn't her favoured terrain, but if she could manage Korriban, Yavin IV and Ziost, then surely she could manage this as well!

Perhaps it was meant to be but she finds her way to the lake... as if she was meant to find it.

There is someone there, skipping stones across this massive lake... the other side is beyond her sight.

Skipping stones...?

Keeping a hand on her lightsaber, Shaisha approaches closer to get a better look at who it was. Someone friendly... hopefully...

Vain picks up another stone and then skips it across the water.

Seeing who it is, Shaisha feels torn between just killing him where he stands, or... a far riskier option.

Still, she draws her lightsaber without igniting it, and heightens her senses. I will probably regret this.

"What are you doing here?" she asks, her tone cautious.

Activating Sense incase of Combat, so taking 2 Strain.

"Whoa... watch where you point that thing, Shaisha," he says turning. "A guy can't come down to lake and skip some stones?"

"Of all the places to pick to skip stones, you choose this place?" she looks at him with a raised eyebrow. "Didn't think you'd find somewhere like this with a local reputation for being a bad place to be an ideal spot for it."

She steps a little closer. "Or is there something else?"

"Are you always this paranoid, Shaisha?" Vain asks.

"Most of the time, yes, but I tend to get a little more on edge when I'm unexpectedly surprised. And you're avoiding answering my question: why have you come here?"

"Because, my children are never beyond my reach," Vain replies.

She tenses up, the suspicions confirmed. "I am not your child. Nor is he."

"Vain... that coward is using you. You have to break free."

"You think I do not know where you go, my child? My reach is infinite, I build Empires that will outlive the stars," he responds.

"And yet you will not live that long," she scowls and uses the old name she learned when the ritual of Nathema was shown to her, "Tenebrae. I have foreseen that you will end."

Alright, maybe a stretch of the truth...

"Release your hold on him."

"My physical form can be destroyed, but I have become beyond flesh," the Emperor replies from Vain's mouth.

And the experience of hearing that voice coming from a completely different man... it was enough to make the hair on her back stand up.

"Yet you seem to take what opportunity you can to borrow the flesh of others. And while you play games with your toy soldiers, there are those who play you for a fool, and you seem none the wiser..."

"None are beyond my sight, perhaps I should show you just how weak you are," he says his eyes glimmering red.

"I must've hit a nerve," she smirks as she tries to maintain some aura of confidence... because no way was she going to give him the satisfaction of being afraid. "Perhaps I'm weak, but I was strong enough to break free from you. That counts for something."

"For now, I will always be waiting for you to return home, my victory is inevitable," he says walking towards her. "Cut this body down, I will find another."

"I'll never return to you," she says as she stands her ground. "And I will take this body from you, along with others."

Cancelling the committed Die to Sense to roll for this. Using the Dark Pip to cancel the Threat, hopefully. Current Strain is at 6.

Vain blinks and says, "Whoa... how did you get here beautiful?" He then looks around and says, “This is not Nar Shaddaa… ugh… why are we on Nal Hutta?”

Seeing as he seemed to be himself again now, Shaisha attaches her lightsaber back in its place and steps closer to him. "That... that's going to be a long story. What's the last thing you remember?"
