Unexpected company. (Day 3 Mid morning Three drinks.)

[Zanebry Varliss]

The faint sound of blood hitting the floor echoed in his ears along with the rhythmic sounds of his breathing. The house was quiet, it meant things were over, almost... No witnesses, that's what he had been told, and it was what he could accomplish.

Zane awoke to the beeping of A, with a faint groan he rolled out of bed, trying to make sense of what what was going on. "What's that? A visitor?" He asked as he went to the rack, slipping on a pair of slacks to cover his naked form.

Blinking to drive the sleep for his eyes, he grabbed Audh'reh hiding the gun behind his back as he made his way to the entrance of his ship. Still naked to the waist, the bruises he received last night were plainly visible, as were a myriad of small scars, most a few years faded.

Arriving at the entrance he opened his door, a bit grumbly. "Yes?" He asked to whoe be reached who came calling.

[Nekoinu]

"Zanebry, I heard what happened last night." She looked down to his body and then looked back up. "Inside? Now?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Mmm." He grunted stepping aside so the lovely twi'lek woman could step inside, quickly closing the door behind her. "Didn't think you would hear about that soon. Sorry if I worried you my dear."

[Nekoinu]

Naveera worked her way inside and looked at the rest of his place. "Kriffing heck, Zanebry, what did you do? I heard it was Imperials." A pause. "Do they know about you?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I don't think they know who I am, they may of done worse if they did." He offered her a crooked smile before leading her towards the common room of the ship. "As for what I did?" He turned towards her and offered a sly smile. "I danced with Lady Ralnorrei... Lord Ralnorrei"

[Nekoinu]

"And how the kriff did that end up with this?" She looked back down at his body, to the bruises, to elsewhere. "And why would you dance with a Sith Lord of all people? Zanebry..."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Apparently her girlfriend found out about it, and didn't appreciate it?" He really didn't understand it himself. "I should probably admit... it was that late night jizz dancing that can make even you blush."

"Well..." He trailed off for a moment. "She was attractive, and I was a little drunk, and well, I figured I might learn a thing or two." He walked over to his bar and began to make a drink. "You want one to?"

[Nekoinu]

"Lord Ralnorrei." A pause. "She aligns most often with Lord Haydriss." She shook her head. "I can only imagine what a Sith's jealousy is like."

The twi'lek rolled her eyes. "You learned not to trust a Sith, I hope. And I shouldn't, no."

[Zanebry Varliss]

The information was stored in his head, it may be helpful later. "Well, all things consider it could of been worse, I think she was kind of playing with me."

He offered the twi'lek a smile. "I never trusted the Sith in the first place, but I might of learned a few things." He poured her a glass of water and moved toward the couch, gesturing for her to take a seat before taking one beside her.

[Nekoinu]

"If she knew... if she knew about your past." She paused. "I don't know."

She shook her head and followed him. "How can you be so calm about this? What if they had decided to shoot you instead?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Honestly, neither do I."

As she sat down next to him, he offered her the glass of water, before wrapping his arm around he. letting hand come to rest on her hip. "it's half bravado I admit, as I told you the other day, life out here, even as a spy isn't quite what you would think."

He chuckled. "Not that I am even a spy anymore."

[Nekoinu]

"I know what life is like out here 'as a spy,' Zanebry." She let out a sigh and shuffled out of his hold. "You know how I feel about this... Gosh, what is your problem? I'm trying to keep you from getting yourself killed and you can't stop flirting."

[Zanebry Varliss]

He took a sip of his drink, something surprisingly non-alcoholic, running his other hand through his hair. "The honest truth?" He looked her way his lips curling into a crooked smile. "It's because it feels like I am living on borrowed time."

"I should of died in that house years ago, when I had something worth fighting for."

[Nekoinu]

Naveera gripped onto his arm. "Stop it. Just stop talking like that all the time. I'm trying to help you. Osmodar is trying to help you." She shook her head. "Dammit Zanebry."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I know." He set down his glass and reached his hand over placing it on top of hers. "And I appreciate it, I was just dreaming again before you woke me." It was a sorry excuse but he made it anyways.

"I'll try to be more careful, no more dancing with Sith lords... Though Ralnorrei, might be one you can reason with."

[Nekoinu]

"What could possibly make you think you could reason with her after you got a squad of Imperial soldiers sent to beat you up? Dammit Zanebry, just because she has a pretty face doesn't mean she's trustworthy! We lie all the time!"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"From what those goons said, it was likely Haydriss that sent them my way." He offered. "But of course I could be wrong. Whichever it is, I wouldn't approach either casually." He smirked. "Anyways, just because we all lie all the time, doesn't mean we are all good at it. I caught Ralnorrei in at least one of hers."

"I'll always say the best way to deceive is by not lying after all. It's more about manipulating the truth."

[Nekoinu]

"You're a genius, Zanebry, figuring out you shouldn't approach a Sith Lord casually."

She took a sip from her water. "And what lie would that be?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Nothing too important, just a few things at the beginning. About being too drunk to risk drinking much more, and being concerned about appearances."

"She wasn't concerned about either." He paused thoughtfully. "There are a few other things that seemed strange, as well, but again it's only small things, and it could be she is pulling a con on me, but my gut tells me different."

"Either way I don't plan to see her again." He turned towards her and offered her a smile. "I'll just have to find another dancing partner."

[Nekoinu]

"I don't think I'll ever understand her. The reports I read on her were sporadic at best."

She shifted in her seat. "And where do you intend on finding this other dancing partner?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"That's rather how she described herself, but I think if the reports are studied enough, one might be able to find a pattern."

His smile turned a bit teasing as he noticed her shift slightly. "Oh I don't know, here or there. I considered asking a certain beautiful blue twi'lek woman from my past, but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't accept."

[Nekoinu]

A pause. "That would make sense. If she is playing it up, then there must be a rational pattern behind her actions."

Naveera flushed and turned her eyes away. "I can only imagine that you know a lot of blue twi'leks, Zanebry."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I thought so at least."

Shifting in his seat to more fully face her, he reached a hand to touch her chin with two extended fingers, a gentle tug pulling her gaze back in his direction if she would allow it. "There is only one that is lovely as you Naveera, and dancing was one of the things I had planned for us tonight."

[Nekoinu]

"And you'd only want to dance, Zanebry?" she asked, her gaze away from him.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Honestly, I'd probably end up wanting more." He replied after a moments hesitation. 'I do know your rules though, and while I may sometimes wish you would break them, I still respect you enough to respect them."

"If it means dancing with you again, I'd make sure I restrain myself, and remain a gentleman."
