Nar Shaddaa

Naveera curled up to Zanebry and began to stroke his hair. "Hey, Z. Bad dream again?"

He froze for a moment as he felt Naveera's touch, but relaxed a moment later. It had been far too long since he awoke with someone beside him. "Mmm." He grunted a reply as he rolled over and draped his arm over her. "It's fine though, I'm used to it."

The twi'lek snugged up against him and held onto his hand. "You didn't seem used to it, Z. I guess you don't really get to watch yourself sleep though."

A small smirk played across his lips, as he shifted his to weave his fingers together with hers. "You were watching me sleep gorgeous?"

"Somewhat, yeah." She let out a small giggle. "But, well, you also weren't sleeping tight. Woke me up, Z," she explained gently.

"Sorry." He mumbled as he leaned in to kiss her on the nose, it seemed somewhat appropriate in his sleepy state. Didn't mean to wake you, dreams just get bad sometimes, especially after I shoot people."

"Well, I'm sorry for roping you into it." She caressed his cheek with a guilty smile. "Though I'm pretty sure you'd say something like, 'Glad I was there' or something corny."

"Just glad I could help Gorgeous." He leaned in to give her a peck on the lips. "Not too corny I hope?"

"Hm, well, if I cared about corny then I would have moved on from you a long time ago."

"Mmm, that's rough." He moved in seeking her lips again, this time for a lingering kiss. "Tell me the truth though." He murmured as he pulled away, "It's really just the hat that keeps you around isn't it?"

"Hats are hard to come by among twi'leks, at least ones as fancy as yours." She rubbed her nose against his and smirked. "So yeah, I'd say it's the hat."

"I best keep a hold of it then, seems like its worth it weight in gold." He pulled her in for another another series of kisses, bringing his hand up to stroke her cheek as he moved away. "You're too good for me my dear."

"I'm not that great," she said with a playful grin, "I think I've gotten you nearly killed several times."

"Several isn't all that bad... I mean it's kinda like my weekly quota." He replied his tone and smile teasing, adding levity to his words. "We should get up though." His hand left her cheek to drift down to her thigh. "Else we might end up staying in bed for a while."

"Well, I suppose it wouldn't be Nar Shaddaa without that." There was a knock at the entrance, followed by a holocall for Zanebry. "Hm, is it something important or can it wait?"

"I wasn't expecting anyone, let me check though." He murmured as he pulled up his communicator to see who it might be.

"Su cuy'gar. And I actually mean it," Vera added with a smirk, "Can I come in?"

Vera wouldn't come by unless it was important. Leaning over he gave Naveera a peck on the lips. "this shouldn't take long."

"Sure Vera, I'll be right there, just have to slip something on." He slid out of bed and started to slip on late nights trousers. "Oh and you should know, I have company."

That said, he'd give Naveera a wink before heading towards the door to greet the Mandalorian woman.

The twi'lek curled back up into bed and closed her eyes. "I'll try to get more shut eye then," she mused.

At the entrance of the ship, Vera stood with her arms crossed. She looked away, seemingly distant. "Who's in there with you?"

"Sleep well gorgeous." was his reply to Naveera as he padded down the hall

"An old friend, she's safe to talk around." Was the only explanation he made following it up with. "Come on in Vera." As he nodded his head, towards the interior of the ship.

"If you say so." Vera came inside with a hand on her dagger's hilt. She looked around and waited for Zanebry to shut the ship. "To be honest, I'm not really sure why I'm here." She took a breath and looked at him. "I'm going silent. My whole unit is."

Sensing the serious nature of the tone he paused before leading her to the interior of the ship, watching her carefully as she spoke. "You're here because you know I'm willing to help, if I can." Gesturing towards the interior of the ship, he walked beside her as they moved towards the common area. "That doesn't sound good Vera, any details you can tell me? Reasons?"

"No, not looking for help. I don't need help."

Vera sighed and helped herself to a seat. "You've heard of Captain Alderaan, haven't you? My unit received an offer from him to become Mandalorian Irregulars in the Republic military. It sounds crazy, doesn't it? But we're taking it."

She tapped her right hand on the table, her left still on her dagger. "I'm only here to say goodbye. Chances are we won't be able see each other again."

"I know, but you could still find some here if you ever did."

He moved over to the couch and took a seat beside her. "Aye, it does sound insane, no I've seen enough of that war to know it is insane." He sighed, this was some news he really didn't want to hear.

He looked over to her and tried to offer her a reassuring smile. "It doesn't have to be goodbye Vera, not if you don't want I've still got a few old friends in the republic. we could still keep in contact." He hold down the urge to sigh, he knew he shouldn't speak the next few words but he did anyways. "Goodbye though? Is that the only reason why you came?"
