How Galent of you (D5 EA Starcross Galen's Room)

Although she had both received a warning message about Galen maybe not coming back...and a message to say he had come back while she slept, Aphr had worried. She didn't bother the man though, not right away, her morning spent not doing too much.

However, she eventually went to his room, carrying a trayful of cold drinks for the non-heat liking types like Galen, and knocked on his door.

"Galen, you...awake?"

"Come in Aphr."

She'd find him sitting in his bunk, cleaning his blaster rifle.

"I'm sorry I didn't find you earlier. I ran into some trouble on the way back."

"I'm starting to think trouble follows you" Aphr chuckled as she entered, pushing the door open with her back to avoid dropping the tray "what happened this time?"

She puts the tray down on the bed, pouring some drinks before sitting down carefully.

"A speeder was shot down." he answered, setting the rifle aside. "Some bad guys tried to finish the job. Zane, a Sith named Jo'ren and I took care of them."

"Zane, you AND Jo'ren? They really had no chance" Aphr laughed "Jo'ren is quite something, isn't he?"

She sighed though.

"You really should be careful though. You've been here long enough to know you can't fix everything, even if you want to help."

"I have to do something." he shrugged. "I can only do so many jobs exterminating vermin. Honestly, it was nice to shoot something."

"Do you?" Aphr asked honestly, looking at the man "the speeder being shot down doesn't affect you, surely? Seeing that Twi'lek girl...I guess, you're helping a pretty girl" she winked at him "but I don't want to see you die over nothing."

"I like being with pretty twi'leks." he winked back. "And, the most danger I've been in was the bar fight with Zane. I think he may be a bad influence."

"Honestly, I'd rather place myself in danger than simply not care." he shrugged. "It would have been easy to let all of Janus' cruelty turn me selfish. For a time, it did. My survival was all that mattered. But, I want more than that."

Aphr sighed. "I don't understand why you feel you needed to. These peace talks have brought nothing but trouble to an already troubled place. I don't know how that's even possible, but they did it."

She looked him up and down.

"Are you ok now?"

"I'm fine." he nodded. "There's an advantage to shooting people from a block away. How are you? What have you been up to?"

Aphr laughed. "Where would I even start? I feel like years have passed since we last spoke! I imagine you know some things, such as the Huttball. I've um...well, looked more into my dreams, and more into the Force. Although after that farce of a meal yesterday, I'm starting to wonder what happens when a force user gets too in-depth into the Force."

"I'll let you know." he grinned. "I should be seeing more of her."

"Of Lychea?" Aphr frowned "why would you do that?"

"I think I need to learn more, about the Force and about my connection to it." he shrugged. "She's the only one I've met who's expressed an interest in teaching me. As long as she doesn't try to recruit me, or drug me, I think it will be fine. And, maybe I can teach her a few things."

"She's showing a bad track record on the drugging side" Aphr said with a frown "and I can't see her not trying to recruit you. Really, except for one person who was once a sith, the Jedi seem to be either entirely unaware of how to behave in normal society, or extremely arrogant."

She shook her head.

"The Sith may be aggressive, but at least the intention is more often than not clear with them. I'm not convinced by the Jedi, especially if that Lyshea is considered enough of an example of Jedi ways to be a master."

"I met one in their garden the other day. Feth. Fes, maybe?" He didn't seem sure. "He was a bit aggressive, but seemed alright. Could barely understand him though, as with most rodians. Honestly, the Sith haven't impressed me anymore than the Jedi. Other than Shaihsa, all those I've met seem to have a superior attitude, convinced that everyone else must be weak."

"Well, none of the Sith I've met so far have tried to drug me, so they're a long way ahead" Aphr giggled at that "plus Moyr is there."

A pause.

"Ah....I haven't told you about that yet, have I?"

"I've heard a few things. I know you share a name." he said. "But, I don't know your specific relationship to her. I figured you'd tell me when you wanted me to know."

He nodded. "I figured it was something like that. I can't imagine what that's like, finding family."

"Incredible, yet at the time rather frightening. I'm glad though, to have her back and even to look to her for guidance if need be" Aphr said with a smile "I didn't expect I would ever see her again, it's been five years."

"I am happy for you." he smiled. "I only met her briefly. What is she like?"

"Strong minded" Aphr said with a laugh "but she does care a lot. Even if she doesn't show it as much as she used to back before all of this."

She looked at Galen, curiously.

"You never speak of family."

"I never knew them." he shook his head. "I was six when Janus bought me. I don't even know when I became a slave."

"Younger than I was" Aphr nodded "it must have been hard to go so long without knowing no family at all."
