Something, something dark follow up (D1, LE)

Having received a hot tip from a possibly reliable, possibly 'soon to be sabered for wasting his time' contact Jo'ren quicky made his way to the spaceport. He was looking for a Jawa called Reek who supposedly had a line on some hot and interesting merchandise... Maybe some Lightsaber components, although it was hard to know how true that would turn out to be.

The place was buzzing with people and the tents and ship of the Jawas was easy to find, it had all the extra junk around it... it was a like a sapce junkyard. But in the spaceport. It was an eye sore but it was also busy with people.

Jo'ren made his way around the piles of stuff. It kind of reminded him of the spaceport at Korriban, but less organised. Walking up to the junk pile he started scanning for useful stuff.

"Hey. Yeah, guys, how's it going? I'm looking for Reek. You seen him? Heard he might have a few things I could use?"

[Dapper Dog]

The Sith is swarmed by at least three Jawas all trying to sell him things, a hydro blender... a droid head... a shoe... it's madness.

[Jo'ren Rath]

"Okay guys, calm down. I'm looking for Reek. Reek? You know him? No: I have boots thanks. Why are you selling a droid's head? Where's the rest of it?"

He took a look at the droid head and ask-told then to go and look for Reek.

[Dapper Dog]

One comes over and says in Jawa, "Greetings Sith I am Treek, can I interest you in this blaster? It almost works, practically new."

"He said he was looking for Peek," another says.

"Why does he want to marry Kreek? Well far be it for me to judge her life choices, he is nice, nice," another Jawa says.

[Jo'ren Rath]

Jo'ren sighed, this was going to be a long evening. "Thanks Treek but no: I'm not interested in blasters, I'm looking for Lightsaber parts, crystals, that sort of thing. I heard Reek, R-E-E-K was the Jawa to soak to about that sort of thing? Do you know him? Hey I'm sure Kreek is lovely but no... Just no."

His patience was mostly intact for the moment, who knew how long that would last, but perhaps the universe was looking out for him?

[Dapper Dog]

"Shoo- shoo, you look for Reek you find Reek. I am Reek, I have the best-best stuff, want hydro-spoon?" he asks.

The other Jawa scatter to other clients.

A tiny Jawa walks up and says, "Hello, I am orphan-orphan, please buy this rock, it is shiny shiny."

"2... 3 credits," the little Jawa says.

Jo'ren looked at the Jawas and sighed. They were a bit of a pathetic lot but then this was Nar Shaddaa and they were probably just trying to get by selling scrap. "What the hell is a hydrospoon? I mean obviously I have my own hydrofork, I'm not a savage, but I think you're just making that up. I'm no fool Reek."

He looked down at the little one. "Look kid I'm not a... Ah what the hell. I made money on my Huttball game. Do you like Huttball? I'm pretty good you know." He handed the kid 5 credits. "I don't have anything smaller. I'll take your rock but you owe me kid. Okay?" He held out his hand and took the rock.

"So, Reek. I'm told you might have some components I could use. Lightsaber parts, that sort of thing. No cutlery thanks."

[Dapper Dog]

“Lightsaber-lightsasber vwoom vwoom, yes we can make deal. Take a look, hydro-spoon very good maybe need hyperdrive? Get that too. Need droid, beep-beep, get that too.”

“Parts plus droid plus hydro-spoon plus shoe plus… this thing,” he holds up a bundle of cables and metal.

“2000 credits, deal-deal? Droid… work-sometimes.”

"Seriously dude, I don't need a freaking shoe, okay?" He put the rock in his utility belt and picked up the metal and cables. "What's this supposed to be?". He gave the Jawa a skeptical look. "Actually I do need a faster hyperdrive, but this ain't one. Where's the rest of the droid?"

(OOC: What kind of droid is it? And do I have any idea what the metal and cables are?)

It’s all junk really, scraps of things. The Jawa thinks and says, “Hrrrm, maybe you are right.”

“Okay this is good-good. You buy yes?” he pulls out a box of various parts that actually might be useful.

OOC: Skullduggery check at Average with a boost die to scrounge for parts.

"You know I'm still not sure this is what I'm looking for, but you're getting closer Reek. I mean this is a power converter, but it looks a bit old. I'm not in a rush you know, you could call me when you pull some good stuff together..." He gave the Jawa an appraising look. "How about some info? You heard about any old sith ruins around here?"

"Old old things, my specialty," he says taking the power converter and handing him a newer one.

"Good things come from the old places."

[Jo'ren Rath]

Jo'ren looked at him carefully and handed over 50 credits. "Okay Reek, now we're talking. Where abouts can I find these old old places? I'm looking for Sith stuff, you know. The real deal."

(OOC: Having over credits for the piece and hopefully some more info.)

[Dapper Dog]

"Yes... yes... well know a place, would have been good good but Makeb security not like Jawas, jealous I say. We too good at fixing things. Old place on Makeb, secret, know it well-well. Can give if buy hydro-spoon, 100 credits."

The Jawa offers the hydro-spoon.

Jo'ren looked at the hydrospoon. " I'm pretty sure that isn't a thing Reek." He folded his arms across his big chest. "Listen. If I give you 100 credits, and this turns out to be a wild rancor chase... You and me are going to have words. Not the friendly kind. Do you feel where this is going?"

He gave the Jawa a look that said 'do not mess with me'. "Do you still think 100 credits is fair?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Fair-fair... good place... old place, lightsaber parts yes? Shiny go vwoom vwoom," he reassures.

[Jo'ren Rath]

He breathed out long and hard. "Okay then, here you go Reek. Let's have those coordinates.". What the hell am I doing?

"Fine, I'll take the damn spoon."

(OOC: 100 credits to the Jawa Reek)

The Jawa hands over the spoon and then rummages through some data chits and hands one to the Sith.

"You see, good-good."

[Jo'ren Rath]

Jo'ren took the spoon and put it in his utility belt along with the shiny rock. He put the data chip in a different pouch.

"Let's hope so little dude. If it works out I'll send more trade your way."

He was a bit skeptical, but it felt as if there was something to this. A glimmer in the force, a thread to follow.

Leaving the Jawas behind he got on his comm link and called 2V. "I've got some data I want you to check out too-vee. We might be taking a trip in the next few days, so call up anything of interest in the Makeb system will you? I'm at the spaceport so I'll drop off this off in a few minutes."

[Dapper Dog]

"Ah yes master, of course. I noticed you did not take this container of mixed fruits and nuts, I do hope you have the energy to make it back to the ship. I have specifically calibrated your diet for a force user of your capability and age," the droid replies over the comm-link.

"I will find everything I can on Makeb of value so that we, I mean you, may terrorize it with efficiency."

[Jo'ren Rath]

"Er, yeah. Guess I...forgot." He didn't want to give two-vee a mindwipe but the droid was acting a bit funny. "I'll be fine thanks. Played some Huttball earlier though so I guess I'll grab something when I get to the ship."

It wasn't long before he arrived back at the Terror Star. Entering the code he walked inside closing the door behind him.

"Hey gang. Here's that datachip, let's see what I paid for." He walked over to the work desk and inserted the chip.

The chip is aerial surveillance data of a remote region of Makeb, it was determined to be not suitable for mining or drilling. These seem to be plans for a resort at one time but that deal never made it out of the planning stages being so far from any useful spaceports and also geological instability in the region.

The data does reveal that there is a structure built into the side of one of the high plateaus dating back at least five hundred years or so, they never got around to investigating it. There are additional Jawa notes that are scattered but they imply that they could not get inside but it looked shiny, like space wizards on Coruscant.

2V enters and says, “Oh Master you have returned, I worry about your health. You can’t terrorize the galaxy with a poor diet.”

“I have prepared all the data on Makeb, are we going on vacation? I have listed the resorts in order of dietary specification and variety. It is a rather long journey my lord and so I took the liberty to refresh our food stocks.”

“Makeb better quake in it’s boots if it knows what’s good for it, I know I do.”

Interesting.

"More of an expedition than a vacation Two-Vee." He began to compile the images and notes into a briefing file. "Can you cross reference any historical evidence of Jedi or Sith activity on Makeb? Starting 600 years ago and working forward would be great."

He reached over and grabbed a snack. He actually was quite hungry now that he thought about it.
