Stability and Support operations (Day 10 late afternoon)

[Lt. Varra]

After fighting off several bands of looters, Lt. Varra had established a command post in Aris's old warehouse. The small woman had become well-known to the N'Ventas organization, and with the chaotic situation as it was, they seemed grateful to have someone with a map and a plan issuing orders.

Varra made sure to place sentries guarding the valuable computer servers, before instructing some of the low-level enforcers to help provide cover for relief efforts in the immediate neighborhood.

"So you're the one taking over everything." The stranger smiled and extended a hand. "Cyan Nexu. Codename. Keeps me from getting stabbed to death like poor Aris."

She crossed her arms. "What's your plan, anyways? With all this?"

[Lt. Varra]

"Cyan Nexu, eh? I've heard of you," Varra said, nodding as she shook the new arrival's hand. Aris's database had been quite thorough about his assets. "As for me, I'm just trying to keep the lights on. No one gets paid if we go under, and getting paid is what most everyone here cares about most. It's a good organization, and none of the other people who grabbed for a piece of the pie are looking out for our guys, so I figured I would."

"What's your angle?" she asked, cocking her head. "I know you've done good work in the past. I'm sure there'd be a way to continue such a profitable association."

The criminal slicer shrugged. "Aris wasn't exactly the caring type. He was a bit of an ass, really. But good to know you're at least willing to put on a little PR for the troops, so to speak.

"As for me, I'm in it for the money, plain and simple. I used to think it was pretty thrilling until I got shot." She rubbed her back where the blaster bolt had hit her. "No wonder he didn't want to go into the facility himself."

[Lt. Varra]

Varra nodded sympathetically. "I'm not against getting my hands dirty, but a frontal assault on a heavily guarded facility didn't seem like a great idea to me, either," she confided. "Truth is, I think Aris expected to save a few credits by only paying the survivors."

"The way I see it, there's better ways to make a living without getting into a pitched firefight every other day," Varra added. "Slicing computers, getting valuable intel... there's people who'll pay good money for that. And our setup here is perfect for that."
