Night Doctor (Day 1 LE-EN)

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla sets up her little medical shop on some forgotten corner and begins taking patients.

At the end of the day, she does quite well.

135 credits earned (Roll gave me 2 successes and 2 Advantages and using the Physician's Kit gives me a bonus Advantage)

[Nekoinu]

During a lapse in patients, a masked woman approached the Togruta. "I had been informed of doctors operating in the lower levels of this moon. It seems this news was correct." She gave a curt nod. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Lord Haydriss." She tilted her head. "You will understand that I fully intend on upholding the mandated peace."

[Ashla Vyliis]

"Oh. Hey, Ashla Vyliis. Peace is good. I don't expect the Empire to break it. I don't plan either for what it's worth." Ashla shrugs. "Anything I can do for you?"


OOC: I never saw the Haydriss post and want to respond even if it's a quick conversation.

[Nekoinu]

"You will inform me on your operations here and your training. It has peaked my curiosity and I will satiate it.'

OOC: No worries!

[Ashla Vyliis]

"I just set up shop and paid the Hutt's fees. As for training, I took more of a learn by doing approach."

[Nekoinu]

"You learned via experimentation. Crude yet apparently effective." She took a moment to inspect the medical center's implements and then nodded. "Why did you enter the medical field?"

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla shrugs. "There was something I enjoyed about it." After a moment. "I used to be Kidaja's slave, but I saved his life and he freed me. I took it as a sign."

[Nekoinu]

"I would think a Hutt would keep a helpful slave on hand. I suppose gratitude is not out of the question." She stood upright and folded her hands behind her back. "Do you operate off of intuition then?"

[Ashla Vyliis]

"Well, one of the few things that can get a Hutt to kinda respect a non-Hutt is saving a Hutt's life."

To her question. "For the most part. I'm trying to learn actual doctoring stuff now."

[Nekoinu]

"Indeed. I wonder if such an act will occur again," Haydriss remarked.

She nodded and looked at the rest of the patients. "I imagine is the Force guiding your efforts. But learning actual techniques will serve you better." A pause. "Who is your teacher in this?"

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla paused and considered for a moment. Not thinking of any possibility of why a Sith would want to know her teacher's name, she decides to answer. "A naval surgeon by the name of Cole.... Ormont?"

[Nekoinu]

"Cole Ormont," she repeated. "Unless that surname is common, his father is an important man in the Galactic Republic."

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla shrugs. "He said something about his father, but he was kinda being an ass at the time, so I wasn't paying much attention."

[Nekoinu]

The Sith Lord let out a laugh filtered by her mask. "And yet you still will be under his tutelage. Fascinating."

[Ashla Vyliis]

"Well, he stopped acting like an ass eventually. Besides, I'm sure people in the Empire have to be under an asshole every once in a while too."

[Nekoinu]

"To call one's superior an 'asshole' is unwise in the Sith Empire," Haydriss remarked. "I assume this Cole Ormont is a fully-trained medic then."

[Ashla Vyliis]

"Yeah. It's unwise in the Republic too but...." Ashla shrugs. "eh. But yeah. He's a trained surgeon who has some experience."

[Nekoinu]

"I see. And you are utilizing your talents here of all places?"

[Ashla Vyliis]

"Well, I'm here for the peace talks, so I might as well. I find the poor are willing to pay without asking for things like licenses or actual medical training."

[Nekoinu]

Another laugh. "Are you adequately treating their ailments or are you conning them?"

[Ashla Vyliis]

"I know I'm doing. For the most part. I'm not trying to scam anyone."

[Nekoinu]

"I will not doubt your abilities then. I suppose anyone lying would be confronted by an enraged mob."

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla nods. "Capitalism at its finest."

[Nekoinu]

"Amusing me once again. You are a Jedi unless I am entirely mistaken. What is the Jedi Order's opinion of you?"

[Ashla Vyliis]

"Not the best." Shrugs. "But well enough to not kick me out."
