The Morning Report [D6, LM]

[Nekoinu]

"The problem is your sniper rifle, Asra. That's an easy mark. Then again, maybe it'd be time for you to disappear afterwards."

[Luth Khalan]

She rubbed her temple a little at the name, and she tried not to let her eyes water. In some ways, she just wanted to go home and be called Luth again by someone.

"It is. We could see about swapping it, but... Me being a sniper at all, I might still be identified even if we did that," she muses, rubbing her hands over her face. "Could go for a different heavy weapon. It's not like I don't have the training. If we're talking about completely disappearing, Matthias was talking about potentially pulling me back anyway with the PTSD issues coming up more often. I think it wouldn't be that big a change of plans to return to that, just moving up the time frame a little."

[Nekoinu]

Naveera let out a sigh. "I'm just not sure. I can help you on it but I really can't be making the calls here." She shook her head. "Dammit."

[Luth Khalan]

"Do you want to call him after all?"

[Nekoinu]

"No!" Naveera took a breath. "No. I'm sorry, I just have a lot on my mind."

[Luth Khalan]

Oddly, Zeno's words talking about solidarity and being able to rely on comrades came to mind, and Asra gets up, moving over to where Naveera is and putting a hand on her shoulder. Just as a motion of reassurance. "I'm sorry. Is something going on?"

[Nekoinu]

The twi'lek looked up at Luth and smiled weakly. "Ah, well, you know. Standard SIS crap." She then looked away, her cheeks a bit flushed. "I've gotten too involved with a man here. It must be getting to me."

[Luth Khalan]

She pulls a chair over closer and sits, smiling ruefully toward her. "Yeah... believe it or not, I kinda do know. I mean, regardless of what they always say, you'd be a sociopath if you didn't form some kind of connection with the people you're around all the time. It sucks, though. It sucks a lot." She looks down at her laps and shakes her head.

[Nekoinu]

Naveera blinked and peered at her fellow agent. "We really do need to pull you out. I wasn't talking about being in a romance with Imperials or anything. He's a former agent of the SIS. What have you been doing?"

[Luth Khalan]

"That's not what I meant," she sighed and shook her head. "But maybe that would be a good idea. I don't know. Matthias wanted me to try and stay in and get moved up to get more access. An opportunity came up, but it would probably involve going deeper than would maybe be wise."

[Nekoinu]

"You can't be forming attachments to them, even if you're pretending to. Tell me you aren't. If you can't separate the assignment from who you really are, then you need to extract."

[Luth Khalan]

"I'm not," she assured. Less certainly, she added, "I don't think so. I'd hope not." Earlier sprang inexorably to mind. "But there might be a little bit of personality bleed, I think, and the mental issues. Even if there's no connections, I need to pull out."

[Nekoinu]

"Okay. This Pirate Queen, it'll be your last operation as Asra Nakahti." Naveera gave her a weak smile. "And then you'll come home, alright?"

[Luth Khalan]

She rests an elbow on her knee, her hand over her mouth just under her nose. A nod and the redhead straightens up. "Yeah. ...It'll be nice to hear my name again."

[Nekoinu]

"I'm sorry for not using it. Standard protocol," she said with a faint smile. "So, do we have a final plan on this pirate matter?"

[Luth Khalan]

"Picking off the Queen's a certainty, I think. It's just a matter of deciding the details," she says with certainty. "If I shoot her just after they leave, I might be able to conceal my involvement more easily. Whether or not that's important now..." She shrugs.

[Nekoinu]

"It may be important to conceal your identity. Though I'm sure you could disappear, the data you provided might prove to be less useful if they realize you have been a leak this entire time."

[Luth Khalan]

She nods. "That'll be the plan, then. Go in, observe the meeting, take out the Queen once the Imperials leave."

"I'll need a way over there under the radar, though. Shadow them to the location."

[Nekoinu]

"Why take her out after they leave?" Naveera asked. "Is there any way for you to board their ship without noticing? Or do you need to requisition a ship from someone else?"

[Luth Khalan]

"So they won't see a sniper shot and possibly associate me with it," she pointed out. "Aforementioned minimal number of snipers around, etc."

She considers the option of sneaking aboard. "It's a possibility. Super crazy dangerous, but possible. As long as Deathwright doesn't try to sense anything while I'm on the ship itself."

[Nekoinu]

"Would he ordinarily try to sense everything on his ship on take-off?" She shrugged. "I understand the worry. And you're right on the sniper part."

She paused. "Do you have any logs of their conversations? Perhaps if you leaked them to her then she'd realize that they even thought of betraying her."

[Luth Khalan]

"True, he probably won't." She sighs. "I only caught the one conversation. Not so much with the whole planning to kill her thing. And I gather that would be an easy guess, since she apparently threatened to destroy Deathwright."

[Nekoinu]

"Perhaps you could aggravate her then? If she fights them over the treasure, then at least their alliance will be in tatters."

[Luth Khalan]

"I'm not particularly good at directly convincing," she notes. "I hate to say it, but it's possible this situation might be easier to deal with as it develops. It might be better to wait for an opportunity."

[Nekoinu]

Naveera sighed. "Right. I'm sorry I haven't been too helpful." She massaged her forehead and then gave a weak smile to Luth. "Take care of yourself, alright? Just a little while longer."
