Sweet Serande Pt 1 (Day 2 LE Solmillos)

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Something sour then?" She raises her brow and concedes, "I suppose that would help keep me from gulping it down."

"I gather from people's reaction you and your partner play here often?" Yslane smiles meekly, shifting a bit to pull her legs under the table. "Or else you have a roving fanbase?"

[Arsele Girard]

Arsele finds herself over at the bar, leaning against it just to Vec's right; She orders Zane's whiskey and waits, giving Vec a quick smile.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Something sour then?" She raises her brow and concedes, "I suppose that would help keep me from gulping it down."

"I gather from people's reaction you and your partner play here often?" Yslane smiles meekly, shifting a bit to pull her legs under the table. "Or else you have a roving fanbase?"

"Only a little, the alcohol and sugar cancel out a bit of the sour." As the waitress arrived, he instructed her to bring the lady a 'daiwahquay' with a little less of the kicker and a few extra shakes for volume, as well as his usual, though Arsele had likely ordered it for him already.

"Not too often, mostly when we can get together and find the time." He smiled. "It's been a little over a month since our last show here. I suppose it would be best to say we each have our own fans? They just come together when we do."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"But what about before that?" Her eyes dance out over the crowd, "Did you play here often before the month break?"

"I'm....as is probably painfully obvious..." Yslane grimaces a little at that, "new to this world. Just here with the delegation in fact. So I'm not too familiar yet with the city and its people."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Me? Usually around once or twice a week, not always with the same singer though. Arsele and I can't always get together after all." He glanced in the other woman's direction. "She is likely my favorite partner though."

"You need not worry about that Yslane, you aren't the only one new around here after all, so ask what you will, I'll do my best to answer. Though if you are really wanting to get to know more about Nar Shaddaa, you might get one of the locals to show you around."

[Vec Gunnar]

Clueless of her anxiety, Vec raised a cup at her direction when he felt her eyes on her. He didn't know the bureaucrat, only that she was the one especially chatty members of the Republic from yesterday's gathering.

Arsele finds herself over at the bar, leaning against it just to Vec's right; She orders Zane's whiskey and waits, giving Vec a quick smile.

Vec would merely return a nod to Asele's smile, finishing the rest of his drink. He could tell that she was one of the locals, which he made a personal note to watch his credits. Nevertheless, he extended her a gentleman's courtesy, especially as one of the acts here. "Evenin'. Mind if I buy you a drink?"

"Me? Usually around once or twice a week, not always with the same singer though. Arsele and I can't always get together after all." He glanced in the other woman's direction. "She is likely my favorite partner though."

"Do you play a circuit? Bouncing from establishment to establishment?" Yslane asked, "....and I assume you are putting forward that suggestion because you wish to provide such a service?"

Nevertheless, he extended her a gentleman's courtesy, especially as one of the acts here. "Evenin'. Mind if I buy you a drink?"

Gruff, military type it seemed; Zane's warning seemed out of place.

"Certainly soldier, I would appreciate that; Got a long evening ahead of me."

[Vec Gunnar]

"The least I can do for not tippin'," he said on the touch dry side as he waved down the bartender and slid over some credits to pay for the drink of the lady's choosing, so long it wasn't liquid gold.

"A long night? That's unfortunate. I thought you two were done for the night," he said as he gave a momentary glance at the stage. " 'Unless the Hutts have both of you shackled to this place for unpaid debts."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Do you play a circuit? Bouncing from establishment to establishment?" Yslane asked, "....and I assume you are putting forward that suggestion because you wish to provide such a service?"

"Not particularly, I play more for enjoyment then anything." His lips curled into a soft smile. "Were you wanting to know when I'm playing next?" If so I can say it's undecided. The details are still in the works."

At her next question he flashed a toothy grin. "I could provide such services. Or, i could maybe find another willing to do so." Their drinks arrived promptly and he softly instructed the waitress to put them both on his tab before turning back to the conversation.

"Well I already said I enjoyed the music." She conceded, "And I am on the planet for the length of the talks."

"It would be useful to have a locals view of Nar Shadda." She smiles. "Do you offer this service to every new face?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I'll get sure to let you know then, when I decide on a time. You can be reached at the Republic embassy I assume?" He took a sip of his drink, before setting it back on the table.

Yslane's drink came in a cocktail glass and was a pale but vibrant green, the only decoration being a slice of citrus on the rim. (Thank a daiquiri but not the frozen type.) "I've met several new faces over the last few days, and you are the first I've made the offer to." He offered in way of an answer.

Yslane cautiously takes a sip, seeming to consider its flavor. "Oh? Are your taxes do soon? Hoping to get an insider." She teased...comedic timing ruined by her general nervousness. "Yes, the Republic has given me a room while I am here. Rather pleasant actually."

[Zanebry Varliss]

Be chuckled anyways, perhaps in a attempt to abate her nervousness; his tone turning teasing as he replied. "But, now that you mention it, I could use a little help with form 4367-98, tax exemption for a independent contractor."

"That sound's much nicer then my own accommodations, is that the best place to pick you up? If I'm escorting you around town that is."

A small chuckle, "Just getting started really; We'll be here another four or five hours. You have to pay the bills some way or another around here, and you won't get that only working a few hours a day."

Alongside Arsele's drink, he also got himself one as well, something ambered coloured and on the rocks. He raised a brow at her direction. "And they expect you to play for the next five hours? Shit, tough gig. Then again, I'm not a musician and looks tougher on my end, yeah? You must have a pretty close passion with your craft...or some really expensive bills."

A small shrug of bare shoulders, "Keeping both a ship and apartment in this city is an expensive deal. Especially with the various 'fees', both official and unofficial; Twenty credits an hour is pretty good pay, but that means fifteen hours a cycle just for docking fees."

She inclined her head at the bartender as he gave Arsele her drink before she turned back to Vec, "So that means long gigs or multiple jobs for us average cits, sometimes both."

[Vec Gunnar]

"The Hutts gotta eat too, and a lot," he gave a few knowing nods. "It's a shame that none of those fees go into actual security, just the promise of it. A few of my own got the rough end of it yesterday, maybe they forgot about the unofficial fees around here."

"Yeah, that must be the baseline but I'm sure you must make a killing on tips around here..." he said as he picked up his glass and gave a glance around the Solmillos. The whole city was quite hard on the eyes, actually.

"I have good days, I have bad days, in that regard. And most tips are in the form of free food and drink, which only helps indirectly."

She took a sip as if in appreciation, "Honestly, the best part about working as an entertainer is that the hours allow for side jobs which might be less regular, but pay better."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"It should be, I can let the staff know I am expecting someone." She nods, "Well I imagine you have to pay for yours....I know on Courscant only the most well known of entertainers were paid well." Yslane takes another sip then flushes, "Sorry....I forgot you mentioned that you did that more for fun...so what do you do for an actual job?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"That would work, any particular type of places you would like to see? Places to shop? Places to eat? Or something else altogether?"

He made a dismissive gesture. "No need for apologies Yslane. To answer your question though, I'm retired, so I generally do whatever intrigues me. I play on occasion, run some card games, do some gambling, occasionally take a bounty, and crew on a ship from time to time."

He smirked. "I know that sounds like I do whatever I can to make ends meet, but it's more I just do whatever catches my fancy."

[Yslane Tssilla]

She leans toward him, "Retired....you don't like that old." Her eyes trace the lines of his face, while her expression is a deeply contemplative one. "...how old are you?"

Yslane sits back, "Nothing in particular, I really just want to get a feel for the world. In truth I have almost never left Courscant before this."

[Zanebry Varliss]

He smiled slyly as she studied him. "See anything you like?" He asked playfully before answering her question. "I'm twenty four. That's not too old is it?"

"Alright, I think I'd suggest shopping then. I've always thought a good way to come to understand a place is to see what they are selling." He paused a moment. "Do you miss it? Courscant?"

[Yslane Tssilla]

"I haven't really been anywhere else...so yes?" She smiles, "But going from one large city to another large city helps. This one just has a harsher reputation."

"Come all the way from the Galactic Core to buy some trinkets? Are you sure you don't have a side job luring unsuspecting tourists to money traps?" Another tease that loses some of its impact with her poor delivery....

again he chuckled lightly, a bit of practice and she might actually be good at this. "There is more to shopping then just trinkets." He teased in return, taking a moment to look her over. "Especially if you want to blend in and not look so much like a tourist."
