Nar Shaddaa

There weren't many places Galen would miss once he left Nar Shaddaa. Solmillo's wouldn't have been on that list a few months ago. But, he'd come to appreciate the music and the atmosphere. They also served a Trandoshan ale he actually liked. He sat at the bar with the drink in hand, while Navi sat next to the glass swaying back and forth with the music.

Sylvain was on his way home from the last Cantina when... what do you know... another cantina showed up. To the slightly merrified young man, this seemed like some sort of wonderful kismet and so he found himself shortly thereafter sitting at the bar and ordering another drink of whiskey.

He nodded to Galen sitting next to him and caught sight of the little creature swaying away. "Cute little friend you have there."

"He certainly thinks so." he chuckled, scratching the creature under the chin. "His name is Navi. Mine is Galen, Galen Sol."

"Sylvain Torsin." He nodded a greeting. "How long have you had Navi there?"

"A few years." he explained. "I found him on Binpuka Minor."

He nodded, "What were you doing out there?"

"Trying to catch a garpuntle." he shrugged. "Without getting bitten."

He chuckled, "Did you succeed?"

"No." he laughed. "But, I found this little guy. Are you a hunter Sylvain?"

He chuckled, "Not much. Ran into a nest of Nexu cats with a speeder once... brought home a trophy... but that's about it. More of a people person I guess."

"Nexu can be vicious." he nodded. "A speeder was probably the best way to eliminate a nest."

He shook his head and chuckled, "Nah... that's how it started. Bit of an accident."

"I assumed. But, it's still a legitimate technique." he grinned.

He smiled, "Very utilitarian... I like it. Next time that's what I'll go with."

He received his drink and took a sip, "So I take it your travels have taken you all around the galaxy. Any place you prefer?"

"The less civilization the better." he shrugged. "That usually means less alcohol, though."

"A difficult conundrum." He said with a chuckle. "You appear to have some connection with the force... I take it you weren't born in the Core Worlds?"

"I have no idea." he shook his head. "I was bought when I was six. My master died when I was sixteen."

He nodded, "In the Republic or the Empire?"

"The distinction isn't always clear." he shrugged. "I was bought to use as bait for whatever creatures the old man was hired to capture. He didn't really have any allegiances beyond his contracts."

Sylvain nodded, "An obvious waste of human life... How did you obtain your freedom after he died?"

"No one really cared, for the most part." he shrugged again. "But, I met a few people who helped me establish myself as a real person."

He nodded, "Nothing like a few good associates who are there to help."

"Exactly." he took a drink of his ale. "What about you? How has your stay on Nar Shaddaa been?"

He chuckled, "Surpassed all expectations... good and bad."

"Most people experience at least one of those here." he grinned. "I hope it was more good than bad."
