Nar Shaddaa

Darwi was sitting in her jacket and tight leather pants in the corner of the Wonderland Studio, plugged with her headset to Moldo's immense database of songs, browsing for titles she wanted on air tonight, and making notes of commentary on a sheet of holopaper with the tip of her nail. A cup of coffee was steaming at her reach. Her lips moved in soundless singing as she listened to a piece worth her attention.

Eight was re-familiarizing himself with Nar Shaddaa, and this was a place that he vaguely remembered. Good music. More importantly, quality security. The Droid stepped inside, moving towards one of the areas where listening stations were to sit down. The droid crouched down and plugged himself into the stations, beginning to sort through them as he looked around the bar. Spotting a Twi'lek the Droid's survey stopped. Something about the Twi'lek seemed familiar. The facial features were distinctly familiar, though he could not place it.

Darwi was obliviously unaware of the staring droid, engrossed in her music selection. But hey, that's an awesome song to include!

Unable to place the face, Eight shook his head a few times in annoyance. An old memory fragment? Perhaps. At least if she meant to cause him trouble she didn't look particularly dangerous.

Eight quietly went back to sifting through music, digging through to find classical pieces, those were always the best to work to.

After a while Darwi committed a rich sip of coffee to her alkaloid-breaking stomach, stretched cutely with all her six limbs, and moved on to a selection from her own repertoire. She actually had had it recorded by a droid in another place, and ran the unplugged version straight from her holopad, singing quietly in the process, perhaps unaware that her voice carried over.

Eight was lost in his own music again for a moment, but the singing from the Twi'lek drew his attention once more and Eight's head turned towards the woman, his five red eyes staring solidly at the woman. The voice was familiar. Twi'leks were more distinguishable from many other species, due to their variations in color, but this one did not ring any bells, so how did he know it? She looked young, too young to be from his past certainly. This was quite a conundrum for the droid.

The staring droid did draw attention. Darwi didn't know what to make of it, so she took off the headset and waved, smiling a little.

Seeing that he had been spotted now. The droid paused for a moment before finally unplugging himself and moving towards the Twi'lek. "Your voice sounds familiar." He said, simply.

"I am Darwi Thessala, a singer. Perhaps you've heard me somewhere?" The Lethan commented with some interest in why the droid thought so.

The droid paused for a long moment before finally responding. "That must be it." That wasn't it.

"I prefer to be called Eight. Are you here often?" The droid's body was still as it spoke to her.

She was satisfied with his confirmation, and smiled.

"I plan to be. Moldo is a great guy. He'll let me have a program on his broadcasting channel, hopefully it'll stay on."

"Hmmm, with any luck you shall have much success while the talks are ongoing." Eight responded after a moment. "An adequate place to get started."

"Definitely!" Darwi smiled brightly. "Are you a droid that can enjoy music?"

"It helps me focus on my work." Eight responded simply.

"Well, it works for me like this too, in addition to other ways. Do you have a preferred genre?" Darwi inquired, smiling.

"Other ways?" The Droid inquired, the top right light in his face blinking out for a few seconds. "I tend to prefer the classics. Full orchestras and the like."

"Different music for different moods and activities. Surely you understand the concept of moods even if you don't have them."

She paused.

"Classics, orchestras. Let me find something for you."

She got to the nearest console.

"Mostly. Though there are concepts I miss." The droid admitted. He nodded slightly at her intent to find him something. "I tend to prefer pieces from the more martial species." He clarified for her.

"How would you find this then?" She set the piece on and offered him to plug in.

Eight plugged in and listened quietly, his eye lights blinking periodically. "Not bad. I'm unfamiliar with it."

"A Tatooine composer, a recognisable thing along the Outer Rim part of the Corellian Run. You can check the whole thing. Or I can look for something else for you."

"Hmm." Eight pondered the question for a moment. "Perhaps something else? You seem to be quite the expert at music." He commented to the woman. "Been in the business long?"

"I am young, I couldn't be in it for long. But I have a penchant and a liking." She smiled, selecting a piece. "Try this."

"Not bad at all. I am familiar with that one." Eight said after only a few moments. He turned and began going through the list again.

"Here, you may not recognize this one, and it takes a minute to really get going, but it is quite good."

"It is!" She nodded after listening to it until the end with a contemplative pout. "So this is what you like? Hmmm-hmmm. Let's try this one then!" She looked at the droid's red lamps with curiosity as if the order and tempo of their bleeping could tell her how he received the music.
