Ashla was soon visited by a patient, one that she might not have been expecting.
Alysele was standing at the door. "Hello Ashla. I need your help." There was an obvious limp as she walked, taking her steps.

"Sit down. What happened?" Ashla was admittedly, a little surprised to see a Jedi. Especially some stuck up noble one. Oh well. Credits are credits.

"I was attacked." Was the brief answer. Aly tapped her jaw, then patted her right thigh. "An elbow here. Felt dizzy for a while, that is gone, but still can feel the pain. Got slashed here, on the inner side. Can't walk properly."
OOC: 2 critical injuries:
69 - Scattered Senses removes all Boost die from all checks for the remainder of the combat.
6 Agility is decreased by 1 until this Critical Injury is healed.

"I see." Ashla starts checking her out. "I'm most curious of why you came to me. Cole is a better doctor and there's Jedi with actual Force Abilities with healing."

Wasn't she supposed to be the sketchy one who doesn't asks questions? "Perhaps, but the Force can't heal any actual injuries. Besides, we haven't talked much, so I figure we could meet." Sort of true....
She stood patiently, allowing Ashla to direct her to sit or stand or lie down for any examinations.

"Oh. How wonderful? Let's be friends. Maybe we could go shopping later or whatever you nobles do." Ashla for her part is amused. The stuck up Jedi was doing something sketchy and came to her. She would fix her up. But she will make her regret it first. Because Ashla knows how to make friends and allies.
"But seriously..." Ashla goes over to pick up a form. "Sign this. Don't worry. Anything you say will not be spoken about. I won't even acknowledge that you were here. Also, payment up front."

She scanned the form.... not the best idea. "Credits, eh? What are you saving up to?" An education? Luckily she managed to hold that last part in. The Toruga will be the one working on her, no need to antagonize her... too much. "Best friends we are. I'll put in a good word for you with the masters. If everything stays inside that should be inside." She let out an annoyed sigh. "How much am I donating to the Ashla Vyllis charity for the criminally inclined?"

"100 credits" Normally, it was 30, but with her attitude and her rich noble family, 100 sounded better. Of course, Ashla didn't see problem with her own actions. She was perfectly charming. "And sign the form. Don't worry about most of it. I'll probably just burn it at the end of the day. It's just for those with serious injuries that I might not be able to help. While your injuries are unpleasant, I don't see you dying on my table." Ashla begins preparing her tools.

"How comforting." She replied dryly. "I'll want a copy of the form." Who knows... not that Ashla would honor it, but better be prepared. She slid out a credstick. "Here you go. This better be worth it..."
OOC 100 credits transferred

Ashla goes to work on the leg.
The treatment goes
quite well. It's barely going leave a scar.
After it's done, Ashla speaks. "It's looking good, but you should try to take it easy for a while." Ashla shrugs. "Considering our surroundings and reason for being here, I understand that may be a bit of a stretch."
Ashla pockets the credits and gives another copy of the form to her fellow Jedi. It mostly revolves around how Ashla has the rights to your organs should you die on the table and that you acknowledge that Ashla has no actual medical training. It notes that Ashla does not describe herself as a doctor, but a medical hobbyist.

The paperwork was... disappointing. Medical hobbyist? That was the best Ashla could come up with?
"Thanks, I'll try and not get ambushed today." Her tone was dry, before looking up and surveying the surroundings. "So... how did you get this set up?"

"I just pay the Hutts' fee and their pretty happy to ignore most things. Unlike the Republic and their ridiculous 'laws' about having a medical license. The furnishings were here already. Not sure what happened to the last person who had this location or what they were doing here. All the tools are mine. Sign's mine too." Ashla is clearly proud of her little rat hole of a butcher shop.

"Congratulations." Her tone is dry like the wall... where there isn't something dripping.
"You haven't spent much time in Republic lands, I take it? Most civilizations have laws. They're kinda... emblematic of it all. Civilization."

Ashla's eyes narrow. Then she lets it go. "I understand laws. But why does there need to be a medical license. It's called the free market. Clearly, you thought I was good enough to come to."

"Standards are usually well regarded." She replied again, then sighed. "Didn't think of you as an entrepreneur." Not that she thought much of Asha besides 'pity' and 'ewww'.

"And if people want to go to 'licensed doctors' that's fine. I'm just saying it shouldn't be against the law to not have one." Ashla shrugs. "I was doing just fine until that asshole Sashto came after me." She gives a little laugh. "At least, he paid the price too."
She pulls the credit chit out of her pocket and waves it to make her point. "Well, credits are useful for things like eating and having shelter."

"Well, the Jedi enclave feeds and feeds you." She offered weakly.
"Sashto is an asshole, that much is true." She managed to agree with Ashla on one point.

"Well, now. They didn't feed me before. And they won't feed me when I leave." Ashla thinks for a moment. "Or do they? Is there some sort of benefits package? Do I have to spend so many years as a Jedi Knight or something?"
Ashla merely nods in agreement. At least the noble had some sense. Even, if she likely came to the same conclusion by different reasoning.

Aly shrugged. "Beats me. Retirement is an option, if they agree." There was some anger under the surface there. "Not sure what do they base their decision on.... no idea about the package, but you get to keep your saber. Or at least I'll be keeping mine." No way they're taking it away from me.

"Well, I can't imagine them wanting to keep me around. Do you plan on retiring? I just assumed you would be a lifer."

"Retiring as soon as I can. I have Alderaan waiting for me, and my house. My family needs me." In more ways than one.
"What are your plans after retirement? If you manage it." Say, a civil conversation was soon emerging from its cocoon!

"Hm. And here the Sith practically force Force-wielders into politics. Wait. I thought any Jedi Knight could retire?" This concerned Ashla.
"I haven't thought that far ahead." Ashla knows Alysele may find it shocking, but she doesn't tend to think long term. "Find somewhere that needs a doctor and doesn't really ask a lot of questions."

"I don't know the details... but I brought up the idea I was told I'm still needed for the war." She sighed. "I'm hoping that the peace talks will go right, and I can get away from anything."
She let out a small laugh. "You found home then, I'd think." She was slowly flexing her leg. The pain was still there, in bits, but it moved much better now.

"That's awful. I hope the peace talks go good as well. So, I can shove into my master's face." She tosses a few chits back to Alysele. "Consider it the friendship discount." And if you don't like Sashto, the last thing I need is you finding out I ripped you off if he comes looking for me again.
"Eh. Nar Shaddaa is a nice place to visit, but not a nice place to live. I bought a ship once and didn't read the fine print. Wound up a slave for a couple of years. And sure, I wouldn't do something so stupid again, but if you're here long enough, the Hutts will own you one way or another."
OOC: 70 credits go back to Alysele
