Among the many things sold on Nar Shaddaa were creatures great and small from throughout the galaxy. While these could be viewed and purchased for one's personal collection in several places around the moon, few matched the eclectic variety, scale and style of Miso's Menagerie. Collectors come to the Menagerie to purchase directly from the latest acquisitions or to express interest in specific rare beasts. Many others, however, come simply to view the exotic animals and have a few drinks at the small on-site cantina.

The Menagerie has several creatures on display, some of which Galen had acquired and brought in himself. This has become a strong business relationship and he is often called in to consult on new acquisitions and their needs. That had been the case today. He had come just after the afternoon luncheon and was only now finishing up.

"If you wish to find a hunter, follow his prey." Lyshea leaned in to look at the various creatures and then turned back to Galen. "I hope I am not intruding," she added with a smile.

"Not at all." he shook his head. "I've made my recomendations to the staff. If they have more questions, they will come find me. Just as you have."

"What can I do for you Lyshea?"

Master Mersl bowed her head as thanks. "How is your accomplice? The young woman, Aphr?"

"I haven't spoken with her since the luncheon, but she wasn't happy." he replied. "She is just finding her way in the Force. It is difficult to understand and even harder when you don't know what teachings you can trust."

"I am aware she was displeased." Master Mersl smiled faintly at the man. "You were able to traverse your trial well, despite your reservations." She shook her head and chuckled. "Would you have imbibed in the meal if I had warned you beforehand?"

"Yes." he nodded. "If you had at least explained the general purpose of doing so, and given us the choice. It was a bit disturbing, but taking our previous conversation into consideration, I had some understanding of why you did it the way you did."

"Perhaps I have spent too much time in my meditations." Lyshea shook her head. "Arrogance. Perhaps that is my folly for today. I will have to consult myself later with their words. But I did not come here to burden you with those thoughts."

The Jedi Master lifted a hand and hovered it close to his forehead. "May I?"

"Not a matter of arrogance." he shook his head. "A matter of distance, I think."

At her request, he nodded.

Lyshea nodded. "Distance."

She placed her hand on his forehead and continued to smile. "What have you learned about the nature of the Force today, Galen?"

"That I have much to learn." he answered. "That even old experiences can teach new things."

Galen gets a message from Night:

Hey I didn't know who to reach out to... not sure what this says about me but you might be the only person I can talk to... are you free tonight?

"And, new experiences can lead to unexpected situations." he added after checking the message. He took a quick moment to reply.

No problem. When and where?

Another message from Night:

[Address for an apartment in the Red Light District.] I just don't want to be alone tonight.

I'll be there. he replied and returned his attention to Lyshea.

"Sorry about that."

"Intriguing," she admitted, "Who was that?"

The Miraluka shrugged it off and placed her hand back on his forehead. "What of those situations? What do your feelings tell you about them?"

"A friend." he answered. "Every situation is different and requires a different approach. That doesn't mean they should be avoided, however. As you showed me today, our experiences continue to affect us, even years later."

Master Mersl nodded along to his words. "Through the apparent chaos, you can find what is the right path for you. You do not need to let outside influences sway you from your path."

"But, sometimes those outside influences can be beneficial." he countered. "Even a distraction can bring a new perspective. What things distract you?"

"There is little that distracts me. Of course, I am not infallible." She giggled slightly. "I was thrown off-guard by being called old."

"You are certainly not old." he smiled. "But, you should giggle more. It emphasizes your youthful beauty."

"Are you trying to charm me, Galen Sol?" The Miraluka smiled and continued to focus on the man's forehead. "But to your earlier point, you are correct. We need those outside distractions to come to a conclusion. However, we cannot allow them to dictate our lives. Does that make sense?"

"Nothing should dictate your actions beyond your own judgement." he shrugged. "It's up to you to decide your path and whether it has room for distractions like a charming rogue."

"A charming rogue. There are many of such men on Nar Shaddaa," she mused. She lifted her hand from his forehead and took a step backwards. "My feelings tell me that your head is clear."

"Thank you." he smiled. "Being roguish and charming tend to go together. Though, I try to be more straightforward than most. What were you looking for?"
