Hala followed the trail to its end, an abandoned warehouse where a Devaronian resided within. She formed up her protective detail around the warehouse, turned on her micro-emitters, and projected her voice from the window into the inside.
"This is Colonel Hala Moraal of the Imperial Navy. Your boss has decided to cut into a larger market, and that's destabilizing the local politics. That has begun interfering with the peace talks. All of you can have a job with Zios. The Crescent Shadow didn't kill him, and he's already back on his feet. Hand over your boss, you all go free. Dead, if it makes it easier for you. Probably might, since Zios would take that as a kindess. We come in there, you all die. Your call."
She stepped back to her perimeter and settled in to wait, but she didn't have to wait long. There was a brief staccato of blaster fire then the air fell silent again. Another pause, and an upstairs window opened. Two dark clothed figures tossed a third limp body out the second floor window. It fell to the ground with a dismal thud. She signaled to her detail to form up and they moved to collect the body after she placed her barrel to his forehead and pulled the trigger for good measure. She then sent a quick signal to Jal that everything was taken care of.
