Layne spent the early hours of the morning going through technological leftovers, junkpiles left behind in the nastier parts of town. Looking, as it turned out, for some useful parts for a lightsaber.

She found some, but not as much as she'd hoped. So she bought the rest at a nearby parts shop.

When in Rome, Remmington follows a similar thought process as Layne as he peruses scrapyards for parts that are salvageable. After his jaunt he catches eye of Layne and waves to her as he approaches.

"Morning Layne. Decided to go with a change of pace?" He says with an amused smile.

Why was it always Remmington she ran into like this? His genuinely cheery disposition never failed to annoy her; and she could never be entirely sure whether it was a case of the force bringing the two sith together or whether he was just stalking her.

Plus she was suffering from a wicked migraine, which didn't really help.

"Ugh, thalalalas," she said, adding a la too many. "The fuck you doing here?"

Remmington finds a data chit worth 30 credits.

"Oh just checking the scrapyards for anything good. The prices here are so high. Got to save our credits where we can since the Hutts are bleeding us at every opportunity." Remmington replies as he pockets the data chip to sell for later.

"You can just use my given name if it's easier Layne." He responds pleasantly. "How are you feeling by the way? You were breathing in a lot of that gas and took some heavy fire."

She shrugged.

"I got a headache. But that's not due to the gas. What was that stuff anyway?"

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington thinks about that for a moment. "Hmm... some kind of poisonous gas. Though it wasn't incredibly lethal. It was probably more to slow people down. The gang probably wanted to be more personal and gun down people who couldn't fight back easily. Too bad for them that there were Imperial guests there and we're always ready for a fight."

He looks back to her. "That reminds me. Did Daz have any luck with the kill droid? I could help if you want." He offers.

Some kind of poisonous gas... like I hadn't figured *that* part out myself...

And then he brought up the kill bot.

"No thanks," she said, avoiding having to explain that it was fixed but is broke again.

Remmington nods. "Well if you want some assistance feel free to ask. Though maybe next time invite me out someplace fun instead that doesn't involve people/things trying to kill us. You know... for a change of pace Layne."

If Layne pays any sort of attention, she may notice that he has a scar over his eye now. Though looks like the eye is still functional. Just a lasting scar on his face. It wasn't there before.

Scars were common enough among Sith. It was barely worth mentioning, really. Besides, Layne was not much for extended conversation, preferring to waste few words in general.

Similarly, she did not respond to the jest. At least not directly.

"How's Jaina?"

"Good. She beat a tough lesson into me. I still have a long way to go." Remmington replies. "Hmm... I forgot to give her those postcards." He mumbles to himself.

"That reminds me, have you talked to Sylvain recently?" He asks.

"Why?"

There was paranoia in her question.

Remmington quirks an eyebrow to that response. "You both were apprentices to Lord Baras. I figured that it be natural that you guys talk about it. Did something happen?" He asks.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Talk about what, exactly? How we're both apprentices to Baras? We already know that."

[Remmington Thalalas]

"Like what he thinks of the situation. What is going to happen to you guys in the future. Stuff like that." Remmington suggests.

She shrugged, "The force will provide."

Remmington stares at Layne for a moment. "Are you feeling alright Layne? I can accompany you back to the Imperial compound to have a medical droid take a look at you?"
