[Day 9 - MN] See you at the Crossroads

[Layne Hoshin]

"So he's not like my lost cousin or something?"

[Dapper Dog]

"So he's not like my lost cousin or something?"

"I don't think so, well many times removed I suppose," she says honestly.

[Layne Hoshin]

"I'll be taking him with me," she said, pre-empting any attempt to claim him as an apprentice. "Baras has seen him, so he's probably not safe in the empire."

[Dapper Dog]

"I agree he does not have the heart for a Sith, he does not have your killer's edge," she responds. "I will have my own apprentice soon enough."

[Layne Hoshin]

"I take it you have someone specific in mind already, then."

[Dapper Dog]

"It will depend on how things play out," she says cryptically.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Fine, whatever. How *are* things going to play out though, you think? My former master's return is bound to cause a stir. And..."

She paused, considering something. "...his plans are big. Real big. How much do you know? I'm betting some of the stuff's outside of Vengean's knowledge."

[Dapper Dog]

"I would never guess the mind of Darth Baras," she responds.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Well I suppose Vengean *might* be able to guess... Jo'ren was there after all."

Her injuries were still clouding her thoughts. Maybe 'grandma' knew all this already. Maybe Layne had even mentioned it herself? The uncertainty was causing her to ramble on a bit as she tried to connect all the different strands into one whole.

"He's planning to trap the Emperor's Voice on a planet called Voss. Probably going to kill her, or keep her prisoner. Maybe he already has, depending on how fast things have moved since he sent me to her sanctum."

[Dapper Dog]

“This is the first I am hearing of any of this, I do not know much about this Voice but I know it is powerful… clever though if he could maneuver himself into that position, he would effectively… speak for the Emperor,” Jug’tih says as she works through her thoughts.

[Layne Hoshin]

"I figured it'd be something along those lines," she answered. "I don't think even Baras could defeat her one on one, so he must have something special planned for her."

[Dapper Dog]

“What was she like?” Jug’tih asks.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Terrifying," she said. "Incredibly powerful in the force."

[Dapper Dog]

“Well I should have expected that, you should get Daz and get going… the moon is going crazy and security will be high. Stick to the shadows, you have no time to rest,” Jug’tih says.

[Layne Hoshin]

"I was hoping to catch a bit more sleep, but if you think that's best."

She nodded, then turned her head back to the room she'd come from and raised her voice just enough so she could be sure Daz would hear.

"Daz, grab our stuff, we're leaving."

[Dapper Dog]

Daz comes in and says, "Sure thing. So where to?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"We're going to the Jedi," she said to him then looked back at Jug'tih.

"I probably won't be able to contact you for a while, but I'm guessing you figured as much."

[Dapper Dog]

“You will reach me when you are ready, may the Force make you strong, Layne,” she says proudly.

[Layne Hoshin]

She gave her one last nod, and then, with Daz in tow headed out into the night.

"Stay close. Don't talk to anyone. Don't look anyone in the eye. And keep that head out of sight."

[Dapper Dog]

"Got it boss," he says and wraps the head up real nice.
