[Day 5 - Mid Evening] To Arms!

The Empire kept their troops rather well-armed for their duty but sometimes a soldier needed more. What worked for the hundreds of thousands of troops in the Site Empire didn't work for everyone. Vec had been serving the Empire long enough to know there was always something lacking and filling out the required forms for the requisitions locker was always a pain. Even if it was frowned upon, there was sometimes the satisfaction of having a weapon off the books. He wasn't a Mandalorian but he could relate to their habits of being grossly prepared when it came to weaponry. They were also the sort he found himself most concerned about after that meeting last night.

With his hands in his pocket and his blaster pistol close by, he wandered the streets of Shadow Town in search for an arms seller.

Vec wasn't the only one doing some shopping this Evening, strolling down the streets almost as if he owned it came Zane. He had spent a few of his emergency supplies this morning and he needed to replenish, and grenades weren't often found at your average dealer.

Seeing the Imperial solider approaching he dipped his hat in greeting. "Evenin' "

Vec raised his brow when someone bothered to greet him, especially a place like this. Nevertheless, he gave him a quick raise of his chin at his direction. "Evenin'."

As he figured that he had the attention of a local around here, he may as well get some directions while he was at it. No need spending more time here than he needed to. The streets had a charm to them but they weren't exactly appealing. He lifted his hand, as if to catch him before he got too far away. "So, hey pal, do you know you way around here? Looking for some upgrades for my sidearm."

Weapons weren't too far from weapon upgrades, right?

"Then you're heading in the wrong direction friend." Zane replied as he paused a moment in his steps. "I'm sure we can find what you're needing over here." He indicated a cross street. "No need to pick it off a dead gang member either."

He'd set off in the direction on the nearby cross street, gesturing for Vec to follow. "I'm heading to one anyways, so follow me."

"Not in the business of entangling myself with gangs or their property," he said with a shake of his head. He didn't want some just any two-bit unmarked weapon from the streets that was barely shooting straight.

"Ah, right then. Good think I ran into you. Much appreciated," he placed his hands in his pocket and followed beside the man. He wasn't in far reach of his weapon in case he was leading him somewhere suspicion. There was something about him that seemed familiar. "Hey, aren't you that guy who was playing at the cantina?"

"I think that goes for most people." Z replied walking through Shadow Town as he had no worries I'm the world.

"I'm glad I could help though, these streets can be a bit winding if you don't know your way." He glanced over his shoulder to make sure the older man was still following. "Ah, yes. That was probably me. People call me Ne'bry." At least sometimes.

"The streets looked simpler from up high," he gave a quick gesture upwards, there were probably countless of walkways and vantage points when Shadow Town was so entrenched deeply in the dregs as it was here. "I thought I got the place scoped out well but it's another thing to be wading around here. More than a dozen places to hide."

"Ne'bry," he said with a nod of his head to acknowledge his name. "All right, I'm Vec. You been on the moon for very long?"

"That's the truth of it, and there are news ones being made everyday." He smirked. "A lot of people come down here to disappear. Some of them even do so more literally then they expected."

He continued his stroll tipping his hat to the occasional passerby, as he led Vec deeper into Shadow Town. "Nice to make your acquaintance Vec, and yes. I've been here for a few years now. Longer then some, but not so long as others."

"In this case, I think I'm trying to make something appear then disappear. My guess is, this place should be good at doing that too," he said with a faint smirk.

"Yeah?" he questioned hypothetically with a raise of his brow. "I guess longer than your co-worker. The singer, I mean. She seems pretty interesting. How is it like exactly to work alongside an Alderaanian noble?"

"Oh, it's good at that too. You'd be surprised what you can find in all the strangest place." turning into a rather shoddy building, he began to climb down a flight of stairs, looking back to make sure the older man was following. "We're almost there."

"She's been around quite a while as well, but we have different areas of interest in the city. So she knows different places then I. I really wouldn't call her Alderaanian Noble though, honestly she's not like most of them I've met."

Vec paused and gave two long looks at both sides of the streets to see if this was the right place. He wouldn't know himself but at least he would like to have a good sense that he wasn't walking into an ambush. After a moment, he would follow right behind him with quick successive steps.

"Oh, I didn't call her a noble, it's what she told me she was. Yeah, she even told me that she didn't feel quite at home. Have to say, it's strange to trade from that to this." He gave a small shrug. "Lots of people would have liked to be in her position and she came here."

"Stranger still when you find out her other job, but I don't tend to ask people many questions about the whys. We all have our reasons after all." The would got down two flights of stairs before coming to a rather unremarkable door, over which was a small sign in huttese. 'Sin's' "Never much cared for the name, always thought it a bit melodramatic." Z said opening the door so the man could enter.

Inside was a weapons shop, though it appeared kind of ragged, a few decorative pieces covered the walls but all the real merchandise was behind the counter. The proprietor was Human, on the far side of forty and as the pair entered he gave them a nod before turning his eyes back to his datapad. "That's Mo, he don't talk much, but he owns the place."

"Right, I hear that people don't ask any questions about anything around here. That's something I can appreciate, even if I can do without the sort of living they do around here. In the Empire, they ask all the questions and get all the answers one way or another," he shrugged and raised a brow at the door sign, wondering if he was being taken to a drug den or somewhere that sold weapons. Then again, he could see vendors here diversifying if nobody else was on their turf.

"Anyway, didn't mean to ask too many questions about your partner. Heh, you must get them all the time. Guess you go your own way and she goes her own. So long you do all right around here, credits are credits." That sort of mentality was a lifetime ago for him. As he got old eventually, there was something better in being secure in life, no matter how boring it was.

"Mo," he said with a nod. "Just looking, figured I could use a better punch on my side-arm. Something like a pocket blaster-rifle, more or less."

((Assuming you cleared purchases with the gms))

"Well I think at this point most men don't ask me about her all that often." He grinned. "I dont tend to give them much in the way of information."

"But yes, most of the people that have been here a while don't dig to deep. I admit having you lot around the last few days has made things rather interesting." His lips curled into a grin. "All of you tend to ask a lot of questions after all."

No would grunt before getting up from his stool and looking through his collection. Producing s few weapons that might meet the man's expectations.

"Eh, I'm sure if guys were interested enough about her, I'm sure they'll be lining up with flowers for that chance. I'm sure she gets her share of attention around here, I don't know if that works out to your benefit or not," he said with a shrug at the man known as Ne'bry, sure he had a story of his own.

He fiddled with the mods he was presented, to know what he was giving up his credits for. After a moment's consideration, he asked the man for more complementary parts to the mod for further upgrades.

"Well, that's probably more with the Sith and the officers. I only care what's in front of me or relating to security. With all of the Hutts dipping their tail in everything around here, I know there more than a few can of slugs around here," he said with a cautious gaze around the store, probably suspecting this to be one of their subsidiary stores.

"True enough, and more then a few have done just that. As to if it benefits me." He shrugged. "To some degree I believe?" Z started his own shopping mostly looking for odds and ends, grenades, reloads and things similar to that.

He would need some supplies for upgrading his mods though, as well as a spare blaster for when he loaned his to Arali to work on. Though he was really liking the feel of his current one.

"The Hutt's do have a hand in just about everything on this moon, down here in Shadow town though, it's not something that comes up all that often."

"That's right," he murmured in realization. "I imagine that the Hutts had more than their share of bigger fish to fry in the galaxy before focusing on the minows here. Eh, should have been obvious. I won't say that I know how to Hutt thinks or does business but I would think someone around here must be just a call away from talking to one."

"Anyway, that's probably enough about them. You find this place to your liking, or just passing by?" he asked, meaning the whole city itself.

"It has its ups and downs, but there are a few things about Nar Shaddaa I've come to like. I suppose that's why I call it my home." He offered as he browsed.

"No where in the galaxy quite like it, at least as far ad I have found." He glanced up at the man. "Are you enjoying your time here?"

The man returned with some new wares and Vec casually fiddled around with them in his hand, more focused on the conversation with Ne'Bry. "If it works for you, I could see why. On the other hand, I could also see why people don't exactly fancy this place. I can't say that I'm enjoying my time here, don't hate it either. It's been a while since I've been assigned to a city, nicer than a lot of base camps I've found myself in. It's not every day you have a dozen of cantinas at your door step, all the finest booze to buy and a dozen excuses to lose your money."

He scratched his jaw in a thought. "Just more wary of getting comfortable, that's all. It could be hard for my troops when they find themselves on another desert planet or mudball."

"It's easy to get comfortable here." Zane replied with a smirk. "More then a little bit foolish though, at least in my mind."

"You may want to tell your troops that as well. This isn't a battlefield, not like they are used to at least. But a lot of people die here everyday." Zane knew what he had came for, but let Vec browse, there was no rush after all.

"Nah, I think was good with the original part. I'd just take that," he mentioned to Mo as he handed off the one he was fiddling with. No point of going overboard on a sidearm when he didn't have complete confidence on the parts just yet. Reaching in his pocket, he went to get the credits for the part. It was perhaps silly to carry that many credits on you in a place like this but Vec knew how things were ran over here, traceable payment was out of the question.

"Ain't that the truth, yeah?" He said regarding the possibilty of dying on the moon. "First day, explosion on the spaceport and then a few days later, lost two here. It's go everything but this place ain't a resort."

He stashed away the blaster part in the pockets of his coat, there were more than a few of them. "So, they got a bar around here? Feel like I owe you a drink. Only fair, after giving one to your partner and you showing me to this place."

Z made his own purchases, they were far simpler the Vec's but then he knew what he was looking for when he arrived.

"Far from it, and I suppose that's one of the things i like about it. You can get everything you want and still stay sharp."

At the man's question he nodded. "There are drinking holes all over this moon, though down this low that's generally what they are, holes. "He nodded towards the door. "I can show you to one though, I'm not the type of man who turns down a drink."

"Can't say I was thinking that I was shooting for quality. Just as long as the drinks aren't watered down, they're fine by me. I'll leave if it to you, figured you'll know the best one here if I'm buying," he smirked faintly.

He gestured forward, "Lead the way."

"Well, I suppose I'll take you to the place with the least water added then." He replied with a smirk as he led the man from the shop.

"It's not too far from here, and the waitresses aren't bad looking either. If you enjoy that sort of thing."

"Of course, it doesn't hurt if the girls are easy on the eyes around here. I think all of the smog and neon lights around here have already made my eyes sore enough to be wanting a break. Could see why that noble was looking for plants from his own planet, here of all places." He said with a small shake of his head as he followed beside him, probably just two paces back.
