Nar Shaddaa

Layne comes to in pain with a bandage round her stomach and Daz looking at her. He frowns when she opens her eyes and says, “I am not sure what happened but I felt… something, and then it was easy to find you and then this crazy woman brought us here.”

“She says you’re related… well we all are but I think she is just crazy.”

The first thing Layne did; other than wince in pain and half-listen to Daz's voice; was to see if she was still in possession of her two lightsabers. Next, her eyes would scan the room or wherever they were.

They were there, the room was in a poor state, an abandoned structure with a sheet pulled over the door, holo graffiti on the walls and the bed was old and smelly mattress covered in a modestly clean sheet.

“Not sure what happened but but Ensign Stick-Butt got a call and things went upside. I got Laynebot and followed the Force and found you. You’re safe? I don’t know, but then crazy lady found me and now we are here.”

“Okay I only got Laynebot’s head.”

She allowed her head to fall back again and closed her eyes for a moment.

"Big? Red skin?"

Only one who'd know about being related, unless she'd trust an agent

"Where is she now?"

"She is in the other room, she looks kind of badass," Daz admits. "She likes my spikes idea."

"She's just messing with you," she said, opening her eyes again and trying to sit up.

"Did she say anything else?"

”I didn’t ask, she looks scary,” Daz says honestly.

"Well, she's right about some things."

With all the effort she could muster, and assuming it was even possible, Layne would get up on 2 feet.

"Stay here," she said and then would move toward the next room, to try and get some answers.

Jug’tih stands, two massassi watching the door. She crosses her arms across her bountiful bosom and says, “I was not sure if you live. My blood is strong in you, you have as survivor’s heart.”

She watched the two guards for a bit, before turning back to her 'grandma'.

"I'm not sure how," she said, words lingering in the air. "It was a stupid move."

"You tried to fight Darth Baras, everyone in the Empire thinks your dead and a traitor. Congratulations on that," she says with a smile.

"I should never have listened to Sylvain," she said, nursing her wounds. "But who cares if they think I'm a traitor. Neither of us has ever really cared about the empire, right?"

“True but they do give me beautiful toys and power, so I won’t be ruining that just for family. I will help you but you know,” she says with a shrug.

“I must see to my people.”

"You're more useful to me in a position of power anyway. But from afar. If you were to shelter me directly, it'd be too risky."

"Well considering you are the Magpie, I will keep my distance," she says with a wicked grin.

"What?" She was taken back a bit by that statement.

She tosses Layne a datapad and says, "Check out the news."

She watches it intently. Seething.

"The fuck. Who the hell does he think he's kidding. And that bit about the Serasai... I mean... I'm pretty sure anyone still alive in that family knows exactly who magpie really was."

"I don't think truth really matters in the Empire," she says with amusement.

She stood there, quietly for a while. Thinking. Trying to see the future and failing.

Finally, she looked up at her relative with a certain level of conviction that must've taken a physical strain given her injuries.

"I'm going to the Jedi. And don't try to stop me."

There was a brief pause.

"They're the only ones who can shelter me now."

"I figured you would do that, I have foreseen it," she says.

"Easy to say that after I tell you," she said, half-joking through the pain.

"Anyway, should be good for you too. Wouldn't hurt to have an 'in' with the Jedi if they accept me, right?"

"Master Karr will, as long as you are genuine and loose the attitude," she says with a chuckle.

"Karr huh? He seems the sort. Not sure how much he can teach me, though."

She closed her eyes for a moment, before opening them again.

"Daz said you mentioned we were family. Did you learn more about the connection?"

"The relation is distant, but he comes from our line, it does not matter how connected, only that he is," she replies.
