This was part of the his old job Zane didn't miss. Clandestine meetings in seedy bars and back alleys, he would of much preferred it if they could at least find someplace halfway clean. Still Jal's offer was a bit too lucrative to pass up.
Taking one last turn, to make sure no one was trailing him, he finally arrived at the proposed meeting spot, soon he'd find out what the man wanted.

"You weren't followed, were you?" was the first greeting Zanebry heard. The man stepped out of the alleyway, hands in his pockets, though it was clear he was ready to draw his pistols at any moment. "Naw, naw, you were trained not to be. Jal Nav'loso, pleasure, though you'll understand if I don't want to do small talk. I need you to tail an associate of mine who works for the Hutts. Are you willing to do that or are you out?"

Straight to the point, he could respect that. "I wouldn't of come if I wasn't interested in it, though if possible I'd like to hear some details before accepting. If not, well I'd like to know what my chances are of pissing off the Hutts in the process. If you could at least say that much."

"Well, they wouldn't appreciate you poking around in their business. Can promise you that." Jal looked back and forth, over his shoulder. "You sure you weren't followed? Nevermind, alright. The job isn't because I want to delve into Hutt business. Instead, it's because the person of interest might be up to something. There's a pattern in their schedule that is starting to show itself but I don't know enough."

He nodded, if he explained it right then there should be no problem on that point, or well no problems a few credits might clear up. "I believe we can work something out, you are just wanting me to observe them right?"
"Or am I expected to do a bit of skulking around as well?"

"Breaking and entering may be necessary. I don't need you to go shooting anybody though, especially not the target."

He nodded as he started to calculate the costs. "How long where you wanting me to observe this individual? Just a day or two? Or are we talking more long term?"

"Sorry, can't be sure. My gut says long term but if you find something out sooner then we'll figure it out."

He nodded, that was understandable. "So what's the pay you are offering? You mentioned money or information, though the second can be a bit difficult to put a price tag on."

Jal nodded. "Yeah. Well, I hope it doesn't come as a surprise that I know about your past. And, this next bit is free: a certain someone is coming to this very moon. I have more than that, of course, but I can't be giving you everything right this moment."

"I wouldn't expect so." Z paused thoughtfully, he didn't like it, not with so little information. The reward was truly tempting though. "Will there be considerations for extra expenditures on my part? Bribes? Or various equipment that may be needed?"

"I'll consider it, keyword being consider. You tell me what you need and I'll see if I agree with it being necessary."

"Well some of it I won't know until it comes up, I'm sure I can send word though, and we can figure out that way."
"That said, I'm willing to take the job."

Jal, as part of his normal demeanor, checked one more time for onlookers. "Alright. The target is Evangeline Ulter. I believe she's been contacting people on the down low. Always disappears around the same times, you hear me? Sounds like designated time slots for calls."

He raised a eyebrow at that, it wasn't the name he had been expecting to hear, and a especially dangerous one at that. "This information had better be worth more then just a few thousand credits Jal." He muttered dryly, still he wasn't going to back out.
He shook his head though as to dismiss his own words. "Do you have a copy of her current schedule then? As well as the times she goes missing?"

"Trust me, I wouldn't offer you worthless intel." Jal nodded and handed over a datachip. "This contains all I have on her. And yes, I get that she's a dangerous target. But it's because of her influence that I deem it important enough to keep tabs on her." He smirked. "And I chose to hire you rather than my normal informants because of who she is too. Interpret that how you like."

He couldn't help but chuckle at that last part. "I'll keep that in mind." He said accepting the datachip, he would look at it later in private.
"I'll start tomorrow most likely, if I feel there is somewhere I can find her tonight though, my plans might change."

"You'll know where to find her on that chip if you can start tonight. But if you have other obligations, okay, but get started soon. I don't like her snooping around." The irony of that statement was lost on him at that moment. "Any other questions?"

"I'm good." He said with a nod after a few moments thought.
"I can get ahold of you through the usual channels? Right?"

"Sure. But let's not talk about anything too sensitive over them. Dead drops will suit me in that case." He frowned and then handed over another chip. "You'll need that then. Contains the codes for my coms lingo right now."

Dead drops were something he was well versed in so he nodded. "That likely would be for the best." He offered accepting the chip as it was handed over. "Anything else you can think of that I'll need?"

"Luck? Do you believe in luck?" Jal shrugged and started stepping back. "Let me know, Zanebry. Let me know. And remember to not get watched watching her. Too many damn eyes on this moon."

"Even more eyes then normal around these days as well." He replied with a chuckle. "But all be careful, and aye I believe in luck." It was a lot more trustworthy then the force. "I'll be careful though, and good luck to you as well."

"Good luck then. And I'll see if I can find out any more about your little problem." Jal turned about and walked away unless otherwise stopped.

Zane wasn't going to stop him, these clandestine meetings were best kept short after all. He simply slipped the chips into one of the interior pockets of his coat and turned and walked away.
His return journey would be on a completely different path.
