Time for a Little Night Work? (LE8)

[Col. Hala Moraal]

Hala had dressed up for the occasion and slipped into the club. She made her way to the tables though watching the stakes was enough for her then and there while sipping on a drink.

[Dapper Dog]

"Good evening Colonel, prepared to do the Empire's work," a handsome man says taking a seat. "I am meeting with a Black Sun operative, we are here to broker a deal for weapons and he believes I represent a consortium interested in moving these goods to Bangkor, a backwater colony world nominally in the hands of the Republic."

"You should play it tough, I will be the good cop as it were."

"And you'll have to remind me... It's Mr.- ..... what again?" she said, trailing off as she finished her drink and set it to the side.

"Gil, Malam Gil," he says as waitress brings them drinks.

"Pleasure to finally meet you in person, Mr. Gil," she said, clipping the end as she move to sip from the new glass.

Malam nods before a trandoshan with green scales with purple highlights approaches playing bodyguard for a duros in a long black duster with a disheveled suit underneath. He nods to Malam and then looks at Hala and says in Huttese, “Who’s the woman?”

Malam says, “A business partner, she knows the weaponry involved. I like to come prepared.”

The duros says, “I don’t like surprises, Malam. The name is Vidro, and you are?”

"Colonel Moraal, Imperial Navy. Mr. Gil has provided me a retainer for my time, so my interest is in ensuring his since mine have been met already. If you'd like to proceed Mr. Vidro?" she said, her tone polite but her demeanor curt.

[Dapper Dog]

Vidro takes a seat and says, “Look we were promised weapons and support and thus far the support has been good but where are the weapons?”

Malam replies, “The weapons were always a bonus, and I now they are off the table. We will have to come to another arrangement. This is why I brought the good Colonel.”

“I have Imperial friends and they can get their hands on assets to help your little war on Bangkor, but I am concerned that your people might not pull their weight. I don’t invest in losing propositions,” Malam says casually.

“We can get results.”

Malam counters, “I am not completely convinced. I tell you what you convince the Colonel working with Black Sun is I the best interest for my firm and we can talk until then I really can’t move forward.”

Vidro frowns and then looks at Hala, “So you expect us to just work with this newcomer?”

“I trust her judgment. Before I invest any more resources into this endeavor she will have to approve. Ras Urdo wants my support, then this is how this works,” Malam counters. “I want her to look over your books, run the numbers. She is happy, then I am happy. Is that fine with you Colonel?”

"Your books, the assets you can bring to bear, your tactical assessment of the situation and how you plan to proceed to alleviate the cluster fuck you find yourself in. If you can convince me of the veracity of your plan, then I will indicate my positive recommendation to Mr. Gil and your business may proceed," the colonel answered sternly.

[Dapper Dog]

"I will have to run this by Ras Urdo, he will probably want to meet you for himself," the Duros says after a moment of consideration.

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"If that's what you think is best," she said with a shrug, "Then I would be willing to meet with Mr. Urdo. My schedule of diplomatic responsibilities can be obtained through an inquiry with the embassy. Find a time when I am free and forward me what information you can before hand. The rest we can discuss in person."

[Dapper Dog]

"That's good, we will be in touch," the duros rises and offers his hand.

Hala extended her left hand in turn and took his.

"I will look for it, then," she answered politely with a nod.
