'Visiting Hours' (D7, EM Infirmary)

"Your daughter isn't the type to be made to be anything she doesn't want to be." He said with a slight smile.

"I am sorry for this result... but she'll be alright. She's tough like her mother."

"i didn't ask for your opinion Torsin," she says bitterly... and then adds, "Thank you all the same."

Sylvain just chuckled once through his nostrils and nodded once.

"Thank you, both," she said looking between the two for their concern. Moving to the side of the bed she lay in and, through much pained effort started to pull herself out of the bed, "However, I have grown tired of being here."

Just then Sylvain had a message come in to his communicator. He smiled and looked up to Kris, "Perfect timing. Ordered up some new threads for you. They're dropping them off now."

Sylvain then stood up and walked into the hall momentarily. He came back inside with a box which he carried in his arms which appeared to be somewhat heavy.

He laid the box on the foot of the bed and opened the case to reveal what would look like the armor he was wearing yesterday but slightly modified.

"I had them modify the armored robes I had to fit your side. You'll get much more use out of these than me in your line of work." He pushed them over towards Kris.

"Whatever I can do to make sure you don't have to end up in another one of these rooms, I'll gladly do."

Having now stood, she leaned on the side of the bed while Sylvain retrieved the set. Bringing up her true hand to feel the work of the armor and then looked to Sylvain, "Are you certain of this?" she asked, though she didn't want to say it she felt there was a disparity. Kristal at least had her notable prowess with her blade to protect her from danger. Without his armor...

He nodded, "We each have things that we are good at. It's a simple matter of allocating the assets into the best possible location where they will get the most use. It also has the added benefit of protecting you in whatever way it can while I'm not present... then great. Take it; put it to good use. Marr needs a well-equipped champion."

He smiled somewhat reservedly. Holding back words given the proximity of a woman who despised him to his core.

For now, they had covered the leg in Synthetic flesh given the compounds standard procedures. Leaving Kristal to appear to have not lost a leg at all, though she had certainly still felt like she had. When walking the prosthetic were noticeable given their recent attachment. Forcing her to use the bed as a crutch when she stepped on the prosthetic as she moved around it toward Sylvain.

"Thank you, Sylvain," she said when she managed to face him directly. Having picked up on his hesitation she had made a rather bold decision. Pulling him to her, given the height difference, and placing a kiss on his lips. "You mask your obvious concern for my health well beneath the logistics of it all," she teased.

Sylvain let the faintest of smirks cross his lips as she broke from him. His eyes told her that what she said was very much true... and that he genuinely loved her. But he straightened his spine and took a half step back only a moment later.

"When the two align there really is no reason not to do what is best..." He said with a nod, the corner of his eye checking to see if an angry mother was headed his way.

Her mother sighs and says, "Well you seem fine, I am going to go."

She looks at Sylvain briefly and then departs.

"Thank you for coming," she said to her mother before she left.

Once she had, however, Kristal looked back to Sylvain and asked, "That wasn't so bad as you thought now, was it?"

He wrapped his hand around her shoulder and squeezed once, "One day she may even have me over for dinner again.... several years from now."

He chuckled once and kissed her on the crest of her head. "She cares for you greatly and respects your choices. She's a great mother."
