[Day 4 - ME] Tour of the Stars

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods at that. "The Sith embrace emotions as they are powerful and can help fuel their Force powers. Meanwhile the Jedi eschew emotions because they can also be uncontrollable and try to achieve harmony and balance by removing themselves from such conflict.

As Layne mentioned, the Jedi declared our ancestors rogue Force users and hunted them down. Our ancestors were banished to the Outer Rim and had to survive out there for millennia. So needless to say, there is a lot of bad blood between Jedi and Sith. As for why the 'Sith' are bad guys. Well it just depends on which side you are on. From the Empire's perspective, the Jedi are the monsters that cast us out and hunted us."

He continues on a little bit more. "One can almost say that the Jedi and Sith are just two sides of the same coin."

[Dapper Dog]

Jin just nods and says, “Okay, that makes total sense. So what else is there to show me around here? Is there a cool pool? Cool Sith stuff? Anyone want to let me hold their lightsaber? I know the Jedi get all huffy when I ask them. Like I am trained at this, I mean it can’t be that hard right?”

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington smiles. "I am sorry miss Jin but the Empire values efficiency and pragmatism. So there is no pool."

To her other question he shakes his head. "In that regard I have to agree with the Jedi. Lightsabers are not toys.

In the hands of an amateur and someone who is not a Force sensitive, the person is likely to harm themselves. I cannot in good conscience allow your beauty which is considered a treasure in the galaxy to be marred miss Jin, so I hope that you will please forgive me on that." He offers an apologetic bow.

"Though, we do have some training sabers in the practice room. They do sting if you get hit with one." He warns. "Do you wish for me to lead you there?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Just bring it here, Joe, thanks," she says and then looks at the other Imperials.

"So tell me about yourselves, this is just so different than what I expected. What's like to live in the Empire?" Jin asks.

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington looks at her for a moment and then shrugs as he excuses himself for a moment. A little bit later he comes back with a couple of training sabers.

[Layne Hoshin]

Layne stared at the woman when she asked her question. Did she really expect an honest answer to that? Layne had more than a few choice words on the subject of course, but she wasn't particularly inclined to tell a celebrity that life in the empire was a shitshow, especially not when in the middle of the local imperial compound.

[Vec Gunnar]

It was the trooper who spoke up, funny enough.

"Pretty good," he said with a small shrug.

"Three square meals a day. Solid pay. Some benefits. Endless work. Plenty options for promotion. Constant travel between world. Change of pace, mostly just between action and waiting," he listed of. He wasn't trying to speak highly of it but it was honestly better than what he used to do.

[Dapper Dog]

"So where do you travel... is that normal for the Imperial soldiers?" she asks.

[Vec Gunnar]

Vec shrugged again, "Eh, it's normal when there's a front to fight in or a base camp that needs guarding. We don't get a say, we just go where we're needed. I'd say it's part of the job, troops need to be cycled out from time to time...because of training, fatigue or death."

[Dapper Dog]

Jin frowns and says, "Is that... often? I am sorry I don't mean to pry but have you lost friends in the war?"

[Vec Gunnar]

"What? Travelling? It happens probably every few months after deployment. Years, depending on the cycle of the planet. There was a war recently and you don't get to stay in one place for very long unless you're crippled, or dead."

"If you're talking about losing people. Yeah, I lost people," he said nonchalantly. It was unfortunately that they were lost but he wouldn't go so far to call them friends. "It's kinda what happens when you fight."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods as he listens with some interest in the life of a trooper.

"For a Sith, we have a little more freedom with moving around. Usually it is where are masters send us. Outside of that, depending on the master, some of us have a lot of freedom to go where we wish. Though to be honest it is usually somewhere dangerous." He adds in.

[Dapper Dog]

Jin takes a training saber and does some practice swings and says, "Thanks, so I know the Jedi make their own lightsaber is that true for the Sith? Also why is red like the Sith color?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"We build them, or acquire them through personal trials," she said with a shrug, though she knew there were examples to be listed of people who were just handed them without any personal challengs.

"As for color, that's just the common color I guess. Not all of us have red lightsabers. I don't."

[Dapper Dog]

"What is yours?" she asks.

[Layne Hoshin]

"My off-hand lightsaber is blue," which Layne neglected to mention was because she took it off a dead Jedi, "whereas my main lightsaber has, as far I know, a color no other lightsaber in the galaxy has."

And, because she knew that she'd be asked to show it, or because she wanted to show off, Layne flipped it on; revealing the darksaber's uniqueness. The black void at the core of the blade and the white glow at the edge as if it were sucking in all the light around it. The way its shape was more like that of a physical sword instead of the cone of a lightsaber. And of course the way its hum was higher pitched than that of any regular lightsaber.

She swung it around a few times for good measure, before flipping it off again.

[Dapper Dog]

Jin's jaw drops and she goes, "That is soooooo awesome."

"I want one."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Did you not hear me? There's only one in the galaxy."

[Dapper Dog]

"Did you not hear me? There's only one in the galaxy."

Jin shrugs and says, "I totally got a cool idea next season... Vera get's a black lightsaber.... yeah that will be so cool."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Whatever," she said with a shrug.

[Dapper Dog]

"Whatever," she said with a shrug.

"I am totally going to tell the writers about you. We need a badass like you on the show," she says with a beaming smile.

She says to her handler, "Remember that we need a badass Sith like Jayne here."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Layne," she said, crossing her arms.

[Dapper Dog]

"Layne," she said, crossing her arms.

"Yeah that's what I said," Jin replies.

[Vec Gunnar]

Vec almost thought Layne got off pretty well, she was only one letter off with her name. 'Vince' was quite removed from 'Vec'.

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington seems to have parallel thoughts with Vec. He nods when Layne turns on her saber. "I do rather like the colour of the saber you have Layne. I didn't know you had a 2nd one though."

He recalls another Sith with a blue lightsaber. "Red it pretty common among the Sith. It is a fairly common colour in Imperial space. Blue and green are common among the Jedi. There is significance in the colour of the lightsaber too. Blue usually mean protection and are favoured by those who train their lightsaber combat techniques. Green is related to negotiation. They are favoured by Force users who hone their Force Powers." He explains a little.
