Nar Shaddaa

Zeno is prepping again, a new meal for a new day. This time, being assured that Shai would be there. Not that he was disappointed by dinner the day before, but it could have been far more interesting. A discovery like they Asra had made with all three of them? Would have been so much more interesting... assuming things had gone such a way.

He thinks about that while cooking some sort of stew, with the scent of fresh bread baking in the oven, nearly finished by his count.

Having borrowed the compound's workstations for some more modding on her lightsaber, Shaisha figured it was now time for something to eat as her datapad reminded her of the dinner-date. The one she had missed yesterday, because she had been knocked out pretty bad from the fight on Makeb. Oh well, she would've been miserable company at that point anyway.

Her hair back in a loose braid, she wore a loose-fitting short and tight-fitting trousers underneath the dark robes that functioned almost more like a coat for her these days.

She knocked on the door to Zeno's suite in the compound and waited, her left hand tucked into the sleeve of the robes.

The door slides open and Zeno greets her from the kitchen with a smile. "Shaisha... I'm glad you could make it today. I missed you yesterday, and it made me sad. I hope you're doing well."

"Aw," she chuckled in reply as she stepped in. Coming up beside him, she leaned forward, pecking his cheek lightly. "Sorry... got held up with something very important."

"The sight of you in the kitchen never ceases to amuse me."

Asra arrives last to the party, finding herself a little nervous now that the situation was in front of her. Well, it involved a girl, so she supposed it was hardly a shock. She took a deep, calming breath and knocked.

He leans as well to kiss her on the opposite cheek. "Well I'm getting a fair amount of practice. I may start researching how to use the force to improve my cooking skills." With the new knock he touches the datapad on the counter and the door opens again.

"Welcome back Asra. It's nice to see you again," he says with a smile.

"What is the galaxy coming to? A Sith Lord using the Force to cook in the kitchen," she tutted and turned to look at the new arrival.

"Ah, Asra..." she smiles pleasantly. "Good to see you again."

He smiles at the two of them. "Go ahead and grab a drink and chat. I'll be done shortly. There is wine and glasses on the table."

She smiles at both of them, nodding to each. "Nice to see you both again, as well." Asra walks up to lean against the entry to the kitchen, listening to the conversation. "For cooking? Not what I expected when you talked about the myriad possibilities," she notes, soundly a little bit amused.

She nods and heads over to the table, pouring a glass for herself and Shaisha, handing the latter to her before picking up her own. Some points of order were ingrained.

Shaisha accepts the glass with her right hand, her left hand neatly tucked behind her back like she was some Imperial noble. "Thank you."

"Sorry for missing this yesterday, but I hope to rectify this now. I trust you both at least had a good time without me?"

The stew was a lot less work than the chops the day before. He actually found it a bit relaxing.

"We did. It was a pleasant dinner and afternoon," he says with a nod.

She nods. Asra, being trained to notice such things and when they contrast with what she's seen before, doesn't miss the body language, but simply files it away for later consideration. It probably wouldn't be long before she finds out anyway.

She brings the wine glass to her mouth and sips a bit before answering. "Well, it was sad you weren't here. But yes." If very surprising at points.

Shaisha glances between Zeno and Asra with a small smirk. "Looking to change your allegienaces?" she asks Asra with a playful wink, unaware of any double-meaning that might have for the other red-head.

"Sylvain can get boring sometimes, I admit."

"He also wants a servant," he says with a chuckle. "I'd rather see her grow into her own person. Become what she wants rather than be what others expect of her."

"He definitely wants a servant," she notes blandly, taking a sip. "We'll see what happens. With my tour almost up, things are up in the air now, anyway. Well... They're actually even more up in the air than that, anyway."

"And how," he says with a smirk. "I've always wanted to say that."

"Is that so?" she sips the drink with a chuckle. Syl wanting a servant? Well, now I've heard that too.

"And what would you grow to be then, Asra?"

"Well, I suppose the wording is imprecise. He wants me to come back into service to him personally once my tour is over and I take some leave," she clarifies.

"I don't know yet." She pauses, then adds. "We discovered that I'm force-sensitive. I haven't had time to consider all the new factors there, yet."

Shaisha raised an eyebrow at that. There was only one outcome for Force sensitives in the Empire... well, two technically, but the second one involved a death sentence.

"So that means you will be going to the Academy once the talks here are done," she stated as a matter of fact, not a question. "Sylvain doesn't have any say in where you go after that, unless he can put himself in a position to make you his apprentice."

"That's what it's looking like," she agrees.

"I already hold rank required for such. I could sponsor her in as an aspirant, which I'd be glad to do," he says with a smile.

"You're thinking forward now," she smirks, "like a proper Lord. Makes me think the talk with your father went well?"

"The talk with my father went in a different direction I expected. I've had a marriage arranged with the heiress to House Thul. I will apparently be the bond for an alliance," he says with a shrug. "A potential source of resources, and two houses with very different capabilities supporting each other."

"Ah, that sounds like something to celebrate," she smiled widely and raises her glass. "A toast to you then, Zeno?"

"I suppose so," he says raising the spoon he was stirring with. "Wasn't what I expected, but if it serves the house. Politics are politics."
