Lord Ralnorrei stirred her partner awake on her bed.. "You'll want to see this. Lots going on right now." She gestured to the news regarding the crashed barge and the ongoing casualty report. "Darth Baras delivered a speech on the matter. Apparently Layne is responsible for it."
"Layne Hoshin?" Haydriss thought on that matter for a moment. "She would be bold enough to commit such an act though she could not be the mastermind."
"Unless it's all an act, being an attack dog and whatnot." The Zabrak shrugged. "Maybe I'm just paranoid."
"You are paranoid. Nonetheless, you entrance me."
When the human leaned in for the kiss, Ralnorrei stopped her with her index finger. "Sorry but we're also expected to, you know, address the troops and whatnot on this matter. Who knew being a Sith Lord came with the responsibilities of lordship or whatever."
The duo dressed themselves and headed out of the private sanctuary. They walked casually to the courtyard to find any troopers on duty. The soldiers they did find were running for their lives. "Hey! What's going on?" Before she got an answer, an explosion rang throughout the compound. Ralnorrei instinctively shoved her partner out of the way of the collapsing ceiling, with only her foot caught in the wreckage. "Ha! Got your back," she remarked with a weak smirk.
Together they used the Force to free her leg and both let out a collective sigh.
The next explosion sent a support beam pierced into Ralnorrei's back and just barely jutted out of her chest. She blinked and stepped forward to pull herself out. "
I'll walk it off," she murmured before falling face first into the ground.
Lord Haydriss let out a wail and got to her knees to resuscitate the woman with a gaping hole where one of her hearts was supposed to be. One of the surviving Ensigns ran up to her and shouted, "My Lord! There is nothing you can do! We need to move!"
The Sith Lord suddenly seized his head with both hands and pressed him to the ground due to the agony of having his body assailed by the Force. He crumpled to the ground a shriveled husk of a man. She then knelt back down and held her hands over the wound. "The Force is mine to command," she hissed as she trembled. The air around her swirled with the corrupting influence of the Dark Side, a tornado of red and black. The energy then focused in on the deceased Sith's wound and began to seal it clear. A new heart, more blood, new skin, all made with the power of the Ensign's soul.
To finalize the procedure, the exhausted Lord Haydriss opted to stab a stimpack into the Zabrak. Ralnorrei's eyes shot open and she squirmed. "Oh what the kriff happened?!"
With tears streaming down her face, the human woman forced herself to smile. "I have become one step closer to conquering death."
