Breakfast at Sylvain's (D2, MM Sly's Room)

Sylvain had paid a bit more than he needed to in order to get the materials he would need for a fine breakfast that morning. Sylvain stood at his little kitchen preparing a meal for two after waking up. He was dressed in a more casual Sith robe which he had rolled up at the sleeves to make sure he didn't accidentally cook the clothes with the meal.
He smiled just a tad as he recounted the events of last night, chuckling to himself at the exchanges with Kris' mom. There was much on his proverbial plate today with meetings of all sorts throughout the day, but to be able to begin the day with the company of Kristal Serasai... he couldn't ask for a better circumstance.

Waking Kristal set about her day as normal, quickly getting cleaned and dressed as best as the situation allowed her and then giving her instructions to her team. While Biggs, Wedge and Weaver prepared her ship for this mornings little excursion she began the trip off toward the room afforded to Sylvain Torsin. Two parts of her were clashing a bit but inside she was pushing the better side to superior ground while she walked here this morning.
Once she arrived, dressed in standard affair, she buzzed the room.

Sylvain quickly walked to the door and opened it to see Kris.
He smiled warmly, "Good morning beaut--iful day today isn't it Kristal."
He partially caught himself in his excitement. "Come in, come in."

Kristal looked at him and just raised a brow. Here, on Nar Shaddaa. It wasn't the most impressive of saves.
"Good morning, Sylvain," she finally said as she entered into his apartment.

He motioned for a seat at the table which had a plate and eating implements neatly prepared.
"Please, sit. I trust you were able to get some sleep last night?"

"I was," she said, taking a seat at the table which was provided. "Yourself Sylvain?" she asked, hiding the concern on her voice well.

He tilted his head, "A bit I suppose... Hard to try and piece through one's life when it goes all topsy-turvy on you all of a sudden."
He smiled and brought over the food. It was a high quality breakfast from some of the finest breakfast foods on Dromund Kaas. "A bit of a taste of home." He said with a smile as he put it down onto her plate neatly.

"I cannot make sense of it all myself but," she said, accepting the food but not starting on it yet. "change to our histories seems to be of a common occurrence of late." There was a passing to thought of who Shaisha really was, but she had forgotten in time if Sylvain knew, she wasn't sure if he ever knew or if he even still did.
"How were you going to approach your mother?" she asked, letting a light touch of her concern show to properly color her response.

He sat down in the chair next to her and shook his head, "I'll probably just talk with her privately over the communicator first. Perhaps give her a call this afternoon after I meet with my master... I have a feeling she's up to something. Baras' has given me complete access to his spynetworks and all they collect except for the issue with Magpie. And the only chatter available is that he has no idea where she is and is desperately looking for her... I sense some sort of falling out."
He shook his head, "Perhaps she could no longer serve him after father died... I have no idea..."

"My mother was attacked after your Father was killed," she said, a touch hard to drive the fact home but her eyes held concern for him.

He nodded, "That's true... Just throws more confusion on the whole thing."
He took a bite of his food, "The best I can hope for is that she wasn't in a position to stop Baras... much like me when I fought to become his apprentice... I'm assuming she did her duties as his servant until a moment came when she could step away... What that moment was, why she is doing it, and who even she is.... I don't have the slightest idea."
He chewed softly, "And worst case scenario she is still working for Baras and trying to entrap me in a way that benefits him and would be willing to stick a lightsaber through my chest rather than help me to bring him down..."

"What astounds me," she says, picking a few bites of food for herself. "Is the grandness of it all. You mother over the course of your life never betrayed the fact that she was a Sith?" she phrased it like a question but it was really just a comment. Growing up together she had certainly never noticed it herself.
"In any case, if either of them wanted you dead I believe you would be..."
Kristal drifted on that for a moment but resumed her stance. "Regardless, your mother is a potentially, extremely, dangerous woman who has a fair amount of answers we could certainly use."

Sylvain nodded, "I wonder if my father even knew..."
He tilted his head and shook it ever so slightly in exasperation, "What a world Kris... what a world."

"I doubt he did," she said, finding that him not knowing was probably the goal. However, that left it to be questioned if Sylvain was ever part of the plan. Nothing she intended on bringing up now but it was a thought.
"I suppose Baras has you here as part of the delegation proper?" she asked, unsure.

He nodded, "I am to attempt to push for a cease fire in whatever way I can."
He looked up to Kris, "And why does Marr have you here?"

"Hunting someone," she said, "someone who has hurt the Empire but it would be against Marr's wishes for me to say anything more."

He nodded, "Knowing our recent past it's probably the Magpie."
He chuckled, "If there is anything I can help with I would be more than willing to do so. I have my own powerbases now, independent of Baras. I have capable men working for me that I could put to the task if you so desired."

"I have a lead I am working," she said, before breaking from conversation for a moment to eat a bit more of her plate. Finishing that she placed her full attention back onto Sylvain. "Thank you, however, for the offer. I am certain you have your own tasks for them that require attention."

He smiled, "My main priority remains doing what is best for the Empire, your enemies are my enemies. And my next priority will always be to you, just as I told your mother last night. So please..." He looked at her sincerely.
"Don't hesitate to call upon me for anything..."

Her succinct reply brought a smile to Sylvain's lips. He chewed his food a bit with that same expression for a few moments while he watched Kris with bright eyes.
"So how have you been Kris? I've gotten a lot of the highlights from the news... but they unfortunately don't have any insight on that which I have interest."

"I have been well. Fighting the republic for the past while, removed a militia operation from Tatooine some months back," she said, taking the drink she had and setting her plate forward. "I defeated a Jedi Knight by the name of Vell when I was on planet, after his death the entire operation fell to pieces. It was.. a tough fight but he allowed his pride to get the better of him."
Kristal had a slightly amused tone at that last part. After all, Jedi were supposed to be better than letting themselves get carried away by things like that.

He smiled and nodded, "It must be refreshing for you to be out there on the front; building the Empire and making the Republic's hypocrisy evident. Even if you hate the sand. How do you like your new duties?"

"Doing something of which I am not only capable but excel in? Somewhere where my talents can be put to proper use to protect the Empire we both believe in?" she set it up so that her answer, when it came, was obvious. "They are exactly where I need to be."

He smiled brightly, "I couldn't be happier for you, Kris. You are becoming everything and more I ever thought you could be. Your trials have made you stronger, you always have been one to shine admidst adversity."
