Exhausted, he narrowed his focus, concentrating only on the rescue efforts. Thousands were dead, bodies dragged unceremoniously from the rubble for later identification.
But, there were survivors. His clothes were caked with dust, his hair choked with it, it streaked his face and settled on his respirator, he had to keep wiping the lenses of his spectacles. But it was better than thinking...
