Nar Shaddaa

At the entrance of the lobby, Osmodar Aloncot looked to the others gathered. "Try to remember the etiquette, guys. These are mostly silent affairs. We'll walk up, bow to the lady, get the medals, then turn around and smile for the assembled crowd."

He then opened up the hall to show a mass assembly of various Republic troops in organized rows and columns. There was a staircase at the top for the jurisdiction to give the medals. Jedi Master Garrick Lorne stood at attention among those at the top with his 'Forlorn' neatly packed in the crowd. If Arali was present, he'd give her a curt nod of approval. Vera Ordo kept a straight face for the most part as she passed by the Mandalorian Irregulars. Still, she had to at least send the Chiss sniper a smirk.

At the top, instead of a beautiful, smiling princess, was a rather awkward looking SIS operative: Claire. She was promoted to Matthias' position after his demise and it was her responsibility to recognize the group for their efforts. In particular, for Niall, she offered a weak, apologetic smile. For Zanebry, her disgust was clear in her eyes. The medals themselves were bulky and emblazoned with the Republic symbol. At the bottom were the respective owner's names.

Yup... this was perfect. Zanebry tried to hide his smile as he saw Claire at the top of the stairs. He stood idly bye for the moment letting some of the others approach the stage first. I mean he only played a minimal role in this after all.

Baesal gave Z a grimace as she was the first on line after he let them pass. She was dressed in her Jedi robes with her cloak covering her now missing left arm. She followed the direction to a T. Her smile was timid but genuine.

Still, was it over?

This wasn't quite the first time Niall had been honored in the military. On the other hand, last time, he hadn't been able to walk unaided. On the other other hand, as an Organa, he'd been through enough ceremonies to be able to do them in his sleep.

He gave Zane a curious sidelong glance as he passed, careful not to let anyone behind him see the look. But when Zane demurred, he continued on.

Clare got a nod and a smile, although his eyes were serious. Do better next time. He silently willed her.

He took the space next to Baesal, smiling easily, just as he had for so many events in the last week.

It seemed like it was finally Z's turn as it seemed few others had been able to make it to this hastily put together affair. Nodding his head towards Osmodar Zane began to move towards Claire at the other end of the hall. He wasn't unused to these affairs so he moved with a strict military precision, the heels of his shoes creating a sharp tapping on the floor.

As he arrived before Claire he offered her a smile followed by a very formal bow. It was here though, that things changed, a quick step forward as he rose brought Zane's lips in contact with Claire's for a few brief moments.

He skipped away quickly enough to avoid the incoming slap, the medal she had been holding in his hand. "You make a fairly lousy princess Claire, but Captain Organa only got me to come because he promised me a kiss from one." He tipped his hat in her direction, taking one step backwards before turning around. Giving the crowd a brief but polite wave as he headed towards the door.

Niall leaned over as Zane walked away. "I didn't tell him that." He said in an undertone to Claire. "But I probably don't need to tell you that, do I?" He straightened, still smiling.

Baesal chuckled a little and shrugged

Arali attends, in her most formal burlap sack... er, Jedi robes. First round of antivirals is going okay, and a little makeup and caf hides some of the rest of her symptoms until she gets to Zane's for the antidote.

"You throw a Hell of a party, old man," she shoots to Zane.

"Only the best for you Arali my dear." He replied with a warm smile as he walked past. "Best get up there and get your shiny though. It will keep Claire from throwing a unholy fit."

As he walked towards Osmodar, he gave the man a pleasant smile. Zane had preformed up to expectations after all.

Arali has given medals once or twice. Improvised field ceremonies for troopers transferring out before Master Lorne was back on his feet. But she'd never actually gotten one before. She heads up to the dais, lowering her hood just long enough to receive the honor, then raises it once more. Bows all around, and back. Such a strange weight, that.
