[D3 MM] Visiting the Cole Mines

Alysele finally managed to find the right room. She still felt tired... after the adrenaline has left her, she just wanted to crumble. But she couldn't. Jedi don't crumble. They just march on with an increasing number of injuries.

Cole Ormont was a medi. Ashla was a medical hobbyist. Life was weird.

"Jedi Knight Alysele Cortess looking for Cole Ormont."

When the doorchime sounded, Cole instantly woke up. He looked at the time, shit, I should have been up by now.

Cole rolled out of bed, buck naked, and pulled on his pants. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he pulled on clean socks and jammed his feet into his boots. He stood up once more, running both hands through his hair, leaving it looking much like it did at any other time of day, “enter.”

Alysele entered the room, her left arm held preciously close to her body, and she has seen better days obviously.

Half naked Republic Doctor did improve things though.

"Is this a bad time?" She asked, trying to look away and not stare overtly.

Shirtless and unshaven, and not in the least offended by her gaze, oh, skrog, “Jedi Cortess, I’m so sorry.” Cole looked like he’d been put together from knotted pieces of string; all scrappy, corded muscles and knotty joints. Despite his string-bean build, his stomach was rippled with surprisingly well-defined abs; a blonde pleasure trail, slightly darker than his hair, extending down along the sagittal line.

He turned, and there was a large, mottled purple and blue bruise spreading across his right shoulder blade. Snagging a clean t-shirt, he pulled it over his head before slinging his utility belt around his waist and fastening it. When Cole turned back to Alysele, he was scratching one cheek, the thickness of his stubble over his angular jaw and cheek bones seeming to belie his under-developed build and fine bone structure.

Aly frowned. "What happened to your back?" She asked in an even tone. "And it's okay." She looked away, finally.

"It was unprofessional, ma'am." He pulled on his jacket and buttoned it, finally properly attired. "I had a late night call, and I overslept."

By way of answer to her question, "I was learning, first-hand, about the dangers of huttball, after the Valkyries sixth didn't make it to the game in time. But I don't believe you're here over a bruised shoulder." Cole indicates to the chair next to the desk, "please, sit."

"Amateur huttball seems more chaotic than ccombat." She offered as a response, before taking a seat. "I have a few injuries sustained that are not healing as well as they should I was hoping you could help me."

She gestured to her arm. "I have difficulty using my left arm. Which is unfortunate, as that is my dominant one. And I still fee some occasional dizziness from a blow to the head."

"Captain Organa and, uh, Lord Remmington." he wasn't sure of the correct honorific for the sith, "seemed to know what they were doing. If it makes a difference, the injury was sustained in the course of scoring a goal, so I can't say I begrudge the discomfort, exactly." He passed the mediscanner across the Jedi, the two large screens on the desk suddenly flickering to life.

Looking at the information on his handheld diagnostic computer, "right now, I'm most concerned about the dizziness. I'd like to address that with some simple treatment, it should only take a few minutes." Although his expression was unreadable, his tone was reassuring.

"That's fine. While I'd like to get the arm working, it won't do me too good if I fall while fighting." She held her jaw stiff. "Congratulations on the success. And the goal."

Cole waves away the praise. "I'm hoping that if I can address the neurological imbalances, the arm will follow naturally. But, as you say, fully functional limbs are no use to you if they aren't obeying the mind." He carefully places a pair of medical electrodes behind the Jedi's ears.

"I'm going to apply a mild binaural stimulus. If you agree, I'd like to administer a scalp massage while the stimulus does what it needs to do. Personally," his voice drops to a conspiratorial whisper, "I find scalp massage to be very relaxing."

Well.... this was different than what Ashla did.

But then, what did Aly know? She wasn't a medical expert. Or hobbyist.

"Okay?" she agreed tentatively.

"The massage isn't for any medical benefit, it's just nice," he assures her, tapping at his datapad and causing the electrodes hum to life. His hands, by his training, were likely the strongest and most skilled part of his body, and he knew his anatomy better than just well. He carefully massaged Alysele's scalp and neck while the treatment ran its course.

"Mhm." was her only response, as she enjoyed the ministrations. "This feels good... and I feel better already. If my arm doesn't get better, I'll come by again?"

"Shh," he murmurs, "just let the treatment work." His hands move down from her neck to her shoulders; meanwhile, the electrodes are stimulating subtle responses that trigger a delicate tingling sensation in the scalp and spine.

She let out happy murmurs, closing her eyes and relaxing. "That's good."

The electrodes eventually hum to a stop, but Cole isn't in any hurry. His strong fingers move up her neck and to the base of her skull, "I'd like to see you tomorrow, to see how you're progressing."

She let out a sigh. Sigh of contentment, and disappointment.

"Sure, that sounds good. I'll drop by." She said absentmindedly, before turning towards the man. "How are you enjoying Nar Shaddaa so far?"

Though his eyes are guarded, his tone is lightly amused, "I don't think I said you could turn around, ma'am." He cocks an eyebrow, "doctor's orders," and he winks.

"If I were being honest, I think I despise this place."

"I never really liked doctors. Most doctors. I get enough of people telling me what to do already." She smirked.

"Oh? Not exactly surprised. It does seem to attract a certain character, that is not as widespread."

He chuckled, though his eyes remain hard and wary, "my mistake, I thought you were enjoying my treatment."

He grows solemn. "There's a shelter that I've been working at, providing medical assistance. It's... eye opening."

She aised her right hand with index finger up. "Most doctors." She reminded him, her voice teasing.

"Mhm, I'm sure. What area is the shelter in?" She asks curiously.

"It's in the Red Light District. They provide shelter for the homeless, food for the hungry, and," he pauses, "they try to provide care for the sick and wounded, but there isn't a trained medic within spitting distance."

She listened intently. Was hoping it was more Shadowtown. She let out a small sigh.

"That sounds terrible, and it is noble of you to help." We have Sith and Hutt to deal with, and everyone and their master are helping the poor Nar Shaddan citizens... focus people!

"Did you do something like that in the past?"

Vaguely confused, he runs a hand through his blonde curls, "I spent the last seven years serving on Naval Medical Frigates. I've never seen anything like this."

"Oh? Well, that you've taken on a great burden, but you're handling it well, I'm sure." She tried not to frown. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
