Day 10 EA: Oh shit Hoshin!

[Layne Hoshin]

"There are other ways," she said, thinking back to just last night. "My saber could not even penetrate Baras' armor. Like it was made of... something like, that cortosis stuff."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Possible'' she says

''He certainly has the ressources...or it could be imbued''

[Layne Hoshin]

"Im-what?"

[Baesal Zyn]

"Imbued" she repeated

"Infused with the Force might be a better way to put it."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Oh, right. Like that thing I picked up first day on Korriban."

Not that anyone had ever figured that part out about the broken swordhilt she seemingly kept as a souvenir, as far as she could tell.

Come to think of it, she hoped the Jedi weren't going to tell her to stop carrying it.

They were probably totally going to tell her that.

[Baesal Zyn]

"The broken sword hilt?" She thought for a moment

"Yeah something like that"

[Layne Hoshin]

"Spindral led me to it," she said, remembering. "'I'm pretty sure it's managed to help me out on plenty of occasions."

[Baesal Zyn]

She nods

"If so you might have found an artefact...Does it reach into the Dark Side?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"Spindral explained it as having soaked in the dark side for millenia and absorbing some of its power."

[Baesal Zyn]

She raised an eyebrow

"Maybe..." She shrugged "...but perhaps it could be changed"

[Layne Hoshin]

She closed her eyes again. "Does it have to be? The dark side isn't intrinsically evil."

[Baesal Zyn]

"Evil? Maybe not. It is fuelled by hate, anger and fear making it inherently toxic, however."

She says

[Layne Hoshin]

"Everything's toxic," she said. "Drink too much water and you'll die."

[Baesal Zyn]

"Bad analogy." She replied "But we might be seeing the Force in different ways"

[Layne Hoshin]

"And how is it a bad analogy?"

[Baesal Zyn]

''Because that is usually called drowning''

[Layne Hoshin]

"No, I meant, water is literally toxic. It's a thing. I read it on a science holo once. It's just not very toxic so it takes a lot of it. But anyway, the point is that it's about how you use it."

[Baesal Zyn]

She tilted her head from left to right

''I thought so at first...but it might actually wrong to some level.''

She scratched her chin

''But first, what do you define to be the Light Side and the Dark Side?''

[Layne Hoshin]

"I don't," she said. "They are the same thing, just drawn out differently."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Interesting view, more insightful then most. But my observations makes me think its not quite exact.''

[Layne Hoshin]

"Perhaps your observations are mistaken. Or perhaps it is a matter of how you're interpreting them."

[Baesal Zyn]

"If I'm wrong, then the Force is simplistic, black and white, and the delusions and prejudices of simpletons and fanatics on both sides will be correct. The world has already been cruel enough to me for that to be true."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Not really...I think there are far more nuances.''

She shrugs

''But that's me''

[Layne Hoshin]

"What do you believe then," she pressed.
