[D10EN] Save the Last Dance

It had been a long day. In fact, it had been a long week. Niall had spoken to many people, and made a lot of promises. This was one that he intended to keep. And he looked forward to doing so.

Just as the other night, he wore his Alderaanian house uniform, the fine blues, with the collar low; how it survived the explosion, he didn't know. The tunic was matched by a half-cape, worn diagonally across his chest. The riding boots had been polished. He wore similar when he was young, at Winter's ball. They'd danced then, too, in front of both their families. And he even managed to find a bouquet of Alderaanian starblossoms.

A robed Jedi glanced at Niall as he walked. Niall ignored them, his boots tapping on the floor of the enclave. He didn't stop until he arrived at the door he was looking for. He reached on, eschewing the chime to wrap at it with his knuckles instead. He straightened, a smile on his lips, bouquet in hand.

The door opened to a smiling blonde wearing a long blue dress. "Hello." She seemed chirpy, though there was some worry in her eye. "Come in, come in. We have some time before leaving, right?"

"Thank you." Niall swept a bow. "You look lovely tonight. I see you do have a dress after all. My my."

At her invitation, he stepped into the room. "I brought you these. It looks like the color was a good choice." Indeed, the blue of the starblossoms matched her dress.

"We do." Niall raised his eyebrows. "Is there something on your mind?"

She smiled happily at the flowers. "Thank you, they're lovely." She frowned a bit at his question. "Just wanted to ask how are you after.... well, everything. Last night was a doozy."

"Oh." Niall's face fell just a little bit, reminded of all the things. "Yes. Well, the mission was largely a success. I'm still trying to process it, I'll admit. Cole was able to reach me on the comms, and warn me what I was coming back to. I'm glad he did. It would have been better than coming back to the compound, only to discover that there wasn't really a compound."

"What about you?" His smile grew again. "I understand some congratulations are in order."
