Day 1-ME: Setting the table part 2/2 (bae's room)

The final bolt was put in place and her workbench was finally done!

''Good job R-5!'' she said removing sweat from her brow

[Nekoinu]

There was a knock on the door frame. "Hey there. I'm O'nera Aeser, Jedi Knight, but I guess you could tell." She stayed outside of the room proper for now. "You're the turncoat, aren't you?" she asked, as an inquiry more than an accusation.

[Baesal Zyn]

Beas was passing a tissu on the work place when the jedi knight came to her door

''Oh! Good evening...please come in'' she looked around ''And please don't look at the mess'' Baes replied at first, happy to have finished her work in so short a time window. The follow of question was more...touchy...

Well, that's a strange line of inquiery

''Herrrr, yeah, your could say that.''

[Nekoinu]

The Mirialan stepped inside and did, in fact, look at the mess. Her expression changed to bewilderment but she did not linger on it long. "Yeah, I heard about a Togruta from the Korriban Academy that came to join the Jedi Order." She lowered her eyes for a moment and then looked back up at Baesal. "I wanted to hear more about you. I think you'll understand why I'm a bit wary of your presence here."

[Baesal Zyn]

Baes sat at her desk chair. The Knight's interest was not an unexpected one...and she knew she would hardly be a model member of the order

''You worry that Korriban did not leave me, that I am a bad influence here...right?''

[Nekoinu]

"Yeah. You might fall back in line with Sith." A pause. "Maybe you already have." She kept her hands on her waist and looked around at the room more.

[Baesal Zyn]

She shrugged.

''Maybe I have...but if you want to get to know me, please take a seat. R5 as learned to make a great herbal tea.''

She inspected the floor around the jedi

''And don't worry about stepping on something. I mostly already used allof the good stuff''

[Nekoinu]

"Well, alright," she remarked with a small smile. She took a seat and looked to the droid and the parts. "So you're a technician. And you seem to be an eccentric one too."

[Baesal Zyn]

''I prefer the word *Genius*'' she replied, spreading the word in the air with her hands with a smile

''Are your concerns with me widely spread among the Jedi here?''

[Nekoinu]

"Genius," she repeated with a scoff, though not one that was too loud. "I'm going to assume that's a lasting effect from the Sith Academy."

The Knight shrugged. "If they were, I don't think you'd be here."

[Baesal Zyn]

Baes's eyebrows were raised at the scoff

''Well, I'm not the only one saying it!'' she grinned semi-seriously

''Hehe, well do you want to ask me some questions or should we get in some small talk first?''

[Nekoinu]

"Who else is calling you a genius then?" she asked with genuine curiosity. "As for questions, I suppose it'd be good to know about your life before the Sith Academy."

[Baesal Zyn]

''A few people in the engineering corp...you'know...for the Ionsaber thing'' she said with a sparkle in her eyes

Things got quiet after she asked about the 'before'. The togruta was trying to remember...

''I was raised on the moon of Mitr, my father worked for the republic navy. The Empire attacked...My familly was killed in the assault or executed afterwards but I was to be kept as a prisonner since I was good with tools. I would have ended up in the slave pens if I had not been strong in the Force.''

[Nekoinu]

"Huh. You have a point there."

The Jedi Knight listened and nodded to the story. "I see. I am sorry for you loss. Well, I suppose you just came back when you had the opportunity then?"

[Baesal Zyn]

''More or less'' she replies honestly

''I was young when I was taken and I had long given up on the hope to return in Republic space.'' she chewed her words ''But I met people who gave me the motivation and I met Master Xen who gave me the opportunity''

[Nekoinu]

"I see. It seems I was wrong to judge you then. I'm sorry." She let out a sigh. "My master told me that redemption is possible. Perhaps she was right."

[Baesal Zyn]

"Strangely enough, I don't like the term 'redemption' "

[Nekoinu]

"To describe yourself or in general?"

[Baesal Zyn]

''In general'' she said with an honest smile ''It comes across as arrogant, if you don't mind me saying.''

[Nekoinu]

The Jedi Knight perked her brow. "What do you mean by that? The Sith are in the wrong. They're invested in the Dark Side of the Force."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Mayhaps but the Jedi aren't perfect either.'' she puts her hand in the air defensively ''Its *is* the best of the two option but not a perfect one.''

She crosses her legs, pondering

[Nekoinu]

"I think I get what you're saying, not that I necessarily like it." She crossed her arms and huffed. "The Jedi Code is pretty hard to live by."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Annnd might not be perfect either'' she teased

''Funny enough I learned a lot about the codes back on Korriban.''

[Nekoinu]

"Alright, I'll bite. What exactly did you learn?"

[Baesal Zyn]

Baes smiled wide

''Did you know that the code we say now is not the original code of the Jedi?''
