A Kiss From Lady Luck (D11 ME, Closed)

Shaisha just raised an eyebrow and shook her head, letting out an exasperated chuckle. "Always assuming the worst of me..."

Unlike him, the nudity hardly seemed to bother her as she walked out of the bedroom to head downstairs.

Cole followed her downstairs, finding his clothes on the chair where he'd thrown them, pulling on the close-fitting jeans and shaking out his shirt. He finished dressing, and turned towards the pureblood. He wasn't any good at goodbyes. He had no patience for drawing out that final moment.

Idiot, he scolded himself, she's already tired of you, she isn't interested in lingering over this.

Watching him dress, she slipped on a loose robe without really thinking about it, seeing as her mind was otherwise occupied. She wasn't ogling as much as she was looking at someone she was suddenly feeling unsure about, and mentally debating over whether she wanted to take the chance of getting hurt if she let her guard down too much now. I've just been an exotic past-time, right? A curiosity...

She shook her head to clear her thoughts, realising he was finished dressing.

"... Cole, I..." she started, then hesitated, before changing her mind. "... Nevermind... sorry, I'm just a bit at loss for words, I guess."

[Cole Ormont]

Sensing something in her tone, remembering the way she had been as he cradled her just to be close to her, Cole drew the pureblood into his arms. She had resisted his kisses, but, maybe...

He held her firmly against his body, protectively. He thought about the words he'd already said, the promises he'd made in earnest. If they hadn't been the right words, then he doubted he could find the ones that were.

Even if I could explain that this hasn't been just some Nar Shadda diversion for me, would she want to hear it?

The embrace met with no resistance as she let herself be pulled in. At first she was tense, then eased up slowly.

"... just don't make me regret putting my trust in you," she said defensively, at least managing to voice some of her concern.

[Cole Ormont]

"Regret?" Cole lifted her chin so she was looking at him, a frown furrowed his brow. "Shaisha, I don't know what kind of man you take me for. I..." words seemed lame and ineffectual as he struggled to tell her what his kisses had failed to communicate. "I care about you."

He resisted the urge to run a hand through his hair, and the strong fingers holding her chin tightened their grip. "Hell, even right now I'm questioning if I've made the right choice. I don't want to fuck this up."

Her own arms around him tightened their grip.

"I don't trust or make friends easily, but I'm giving that chance now. And I understand that there are things you need to do for yourself first, before you can take chances..." she said sincerely. "The offer will stand until you have figured things out for yourself."

[Cole Ormont]

He released his grip on her chin and wrapped that arm back around her, "I won't make you wait forever," he promised. "I need to do right by you, and running away with you like a character in a holonovel is not the way to do that."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

She chuckled softly at that. "Guess I shouldn't kidnap you either then... probably a niche of that in holo-novels; kidnapped by a Sith."

Shaisha gave him another firm hug. "Being careful out there, and we'll stay in touch, alright?"

[Cole Ormont]

He chuckled despite himself, "niche? There's a whole genre of Thrills & Swoon romance holonovels devoted to the concept," his tone was derisive over the words romance and holonovels, clearly not considering the bodice-rippers to fall in either category.

"I know you can look after yourself, deviless, but I'll be worrying about you all the same."

Perhaps that was why she worried more about him than the others, Shaisha wondered, seeing as how Cole hardly seemed the type who could hold his own in a fight. Even Sylvain could manage himself as he had the Force to aid him.

"Guess you'll have to keep yourself entertained with those for the time being then," she teased with a wink and loosened her hold on him. "And I probably shouldn't keep you any longer..."

[Cole Ormont]

"One last kiss for luck?"

He didn't know how, or how long it would take, but he was determined that this wouldn't be the last time he held Shaisha in his arms. Cole had never been so certain of anything as he was of that.

Shaisha smiled and pulled him closer to kiss him. It wasn't wild or passionate now as it had been earlier this evening, but it was warm and tender, perhaps even a little timid.

[Cole Ormont]

Cole held her firmly. He did not press, but lingered in the sweetness of the pureblood's kiss, savouring it. He let the moment draw out, lips moving gently against hers, fingertips pressing into her toned back.

She held the kiss for a long moment before finally letting go. At least she felt certain that they would meet again, though only time could tell what it might be like then.

"Don't let anyone push you around," she murmured as their lips broke and she readied herself to see him go.

[Cole Ormont]

"Never again," he promised, and heaved a great sigh. He pulled away from her reluctantly and shouldered his kit. Caressing her cheek, Cole smiled lopsidedly, "you'll hear from me soon, okay?"

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"I'll try not to sit around by the holo and wait for it," she chuckled and ruffled his curls. "Though I might be sending you pictures if Jo'ren and I get together again for fun and adventures."

"Maybe the Force make you strong."

[Cole Ormont]

"Yes, pictures, definitely send pictures," he chuckled.

Pointedly avoiding the word goodbye, "until we see each other again, Force be with you." And he turned, walking to the door. From the doorway, he looked back one final time, raising his hand in farewell, and then he was gone.

Shaisha raised her hand to wave as he did, and watched him leave.

And then she was alone, and so much around her seemed superfluous, as the apartement seemed even larger now that there was only her left after the partying... all the luxury, more than too much for just one person alone.

Dressing herself, she began to make the round around the apartement, turning off lights, picking up things she had missed to pack earlier, turning on alarms and security. All the while having a mental debate with herself...

Sylvain would be going away to get back on his feet again, now that he had been cast out by Baras. Kristal would probably go somewhere to the Outer Rim, she figured, or somewhere else remote where Darth Marr would have need of her. And the others... Zeno, Jo'ren, Luth... they would also scatter to the corners of the galaxy it seemed. And now Cole... she truly hoped he could be a friend, and she hadn't merely been an exotic distraction. He had seemed very reassuring that it wasn't the case, but when dealing with a continuing case of being left alone... it was hard to reassure herself about it when solitude became the only company.

Your future will be one of pain and treachery, she heard her father's voice, and she felt the words draw out her rage. Rather than quelling it back under control to fuel her inner fire, she let it out in a powerful burst of emotions with a cry and smashed an empty bottle into the wall. She pressed down her emotions again as she stared at the broken glass on the floor, and the small droid that soon came out from the wall to sweep away the debris swiftly and return back to where it came from.

She wiped her eyes, surprised that she found tears.

"Damnit..."

WIth a great deal of frustration, she tossed in the last items to pack into her bag. It felt heavier than she liked... but on reflection, it was more the emotional and traumatic baggage that was weighing her down, rather than the few things she physically carried with her.

The last light turned off, and she closed the door behind her.
