At The Break Of Dawn (D5, EA, Shai's)

[Niall Organa]

Niall's eyes narrow, as he thinks back to the recommendation that he received from Shaisha when they'd captured Melv. "On his own." He echoed dryly. "I have strongly recommended that he not do so. Please don't encourage him? The last thing Cole needs right now is someone telling him 'kill him now', or something like that." It sounded a little bit like a joke, but the captain was dry enough that it was hard to tell.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

Shaisha regarded the Captain with a stoic glance.

"Officer Ormont is a smart man and knows what my advice would be. He calls me Devilless, so I assume he thinks twice about anything I say, do or recommend. I'm not going to egg him on to do something as stupid as to kill some Hutt-goon."

[Niall Organa]

"Devilless?" Niall echoed, his eyebrows going up. He was silent for a few moments.

Finally, he smiled. "I rather liked the one you used yesterday, actually. Crimson Witch? At least you got to pick yours, unless one of your fellows chose that for you."

[Jo'ren Rath]

Yeah the galaxy does need me, you're so right Shaisha!

Before I sign off you should watch the news today.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"I think someone used it as an insult to me once. Personally I found it amusing, but I've been called lots of things."

Her datapad beeped over the new message and she read it over quickly. "... Now that's new. Something on the news about or with Jo'ren?" She looked at Niall, wondering if he had caught the news.

[Niall Organa]

"Oh?" Niall leaned forward a little bit, peering at her datapad; obviously not actually attempting to see it, but simply as one often reflexively did in such situations. "I'd heard something about another attack, today. But the report I saw didn't have much; almost nothing, in fact. What did Jo'ren say?"

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Said to watch the news, that it might 'get me in the mood' for the game tonight," she chuckled and shook her head.

"Another attack other than the one on a Dark Lord? Today is shaking up interestingly."
A few taps on the datapad and what had at first seemed to be a painting of Korriban showed it itself to actually be a screen, which now began to show the reports of the attack in the Red Lights District not long ago.

[Niall Organa]

"Oh?" Niall's lips twisted. "Knowing Jo'ren, that does seem rather suggestive. I mean, suggestive of what sort of event occurred. With the Huttball game, I mean." He cleared his throat. "Are you going to be playing? We may be teammates, then."

"Ah, may I?" He rose from his seat, coming to stand next to Shaisha, and look over her shoulder, watching the news report with her.

"Jo'ren asked me, so I'll be there. He's a good friend after all," she smiled, letting Niall's awkward moment pass. "It seems like it will be an interesting team."

She nodded and moved over slightly so he could watch it with her.

Well... this sort of action made Galaxy Commando pale a little in comparison. As she saw Jo'ren began to cut through people like they were nothing, her smile widened visibly.

[Niall Organa]

As they watched, Niall's expression slowly went from seriously bland to blandly serious. It didn't change as he noted the smile on Shaisha's face, either.

"Well." He said. "I would call this in to my people, but I'm sure it's already been seen." Nevertheless, he made a mental note to see about checking up on the two unknown persons who worked with Jo'ren. "I'm new to Nar Shaddaa, but it seems as though we've arrived in interesting times."

He shot Shaisha a quick glance, his lips twisting. "Did you happen to get a count of exactly how many Jo'ren cut down? I didn't manage."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Fifteen, I think..." her eyes had been pretty glued to the action.

"Well... I think I owe him an apology for berating his poor form the other day. He's more than made up for it with this presentation." Her smile was almost disturbingly bright, considering they've just watched a real event where around twenty men were viciously cut apart with a lightsaber and shot. "Is this the first time you have seen a Sith in action?"

[Niall Organa]

There is a long time before Niall responded. "Almost." He said finally. "I did see one another time." He looked back to the Alderaanian portrait. "But unfortunately, I don't remember the details."

Shaking his head, he turned back to the datapad. "Well. What was he doing there, anyway? Did he tell you anything?"

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"He didn't say. But I know he's busy at the moment, so I figure I will have to ask him later today when we all meet up for the game." She shrugged, as it didn't matter that much to her what the reason was. Nar Shaddaa was a place of chaos after all.

"I do know one of the other defenders who fought alongside him though. Galen Sol - works for the Starcross crew... and I doubt he was there looking for a fight."

[Niall Organa]

"Right." Niall said. He studied the images again. "Galen Sol." He repeated. "Which one is he? The one with the hat?"

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"No, the less stylish one."

She brought up the vid again to freeze the image. "That one. Not really an aggressive type, so I assume they were just in the neighbourhood and got caught in a crossfire."

"Jo'ren might've been looking for trouble though," the female pureblood chuckled, "or he was looking for a way to impress me after I lightly chided him last time we fought together."

[Niall Organa]

"Jo'ren certainly doesn't seem to be the sort to avoid a fight." Niall agreed. "I think that's a big part of why he plays Huttball, in fact."

He gave her a curious glance. "It sounds like you and he go back a ways, then?"

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Spent the last part of our training on Korriban together. He wasn't in the top of the graduates like I was, but very few could compare to his fighting skills then... seems like it's still the case now too," she chuckled warmly. "He's always had the edge over me in terms of brute force, and we've sparred several times."

"Though last time we fought together a few days ago, I was for once doing better than he was... maybe he was having a bad day," Shaisha shrugged, "or I've caught up."

[Niall Organa]

"He is very... large." Niall agreed dryly. "And he's clearly very good at what he does."

"Korriban is where Sith are trained, isn't it? What sort of format is that? I mean..." He frowned. "The Jedi are trained both in classes, and by a single master. I received my military training in an academy." He spread one hand, hoping the question was clear.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

She gave a soft 'mhmm' in response to the large-comment about Jo'ren.

"Korriban is a dog-eat-dog place. Only the strongest and smartest make it out. Some have even called it harsher than military boot camp. It is not a place to coddle students, and the weak are weeded out," she said in a calm fashion. "It is a sacred world - where the power of the Dark Side is supreme. It was never a place for the Jedi to be."

There was some slight irritation in her voice as she spoke of the Jedi. It wasn't that long ago that the Empire reclaimed Korriban from Republic-control in their first surprise attack, after all.

[Niall Organa]

"Mmmm." Niall fell silent. He folded his arms across his chest, frowning thoughtfully.

"So..." He finally began. "I've spoken to a few more Sith since we first spoke. I had a long talk with a Lord Sylvain. It touched on many matters, including his love life, actually." Niall chuckled, but then sighed. "He was of the same mind as you: that a long term peace is impossible."

His lips twisted. "I was rather hoping that we might be able to do a bit better."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"A temporary peace is a start," she noted. Damn, Syl, you're whining about your love-life to Captain Alderaan? Ugh...

"While all the members on the Dark Council have different reasons for wanting war or peace, what unites them for now is that it is the Emperor's will that they will try to make peace with the Republic. But there is many grudges against the Republic, and the memory of the Jedi trying to exterminate my kind is still in our memories - such makes peace difficult."

[Niall Organa]

"Mmm." Niall nodded. There didn't seem to be much to say about a grudge over an act of that magnitude.

"I suppose that a temporary peace is a start." Niall said. "But I hope that is not the end. I have some sympathy for those who have been fighting all their lives, and those who have lived with the specter of the war hanging over them." It didn't sound as though he included himself in either of those categories. "But it's not a problem that I wish to simply pass on to an older Niall; or even worse, any descendants that I might have."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

While her concerns weren't exactly the same in nature of his, it was something she could understand.

"The war is not my concern for the few remaints of family I have, but I understand your sentiment. For myself, an attempt at peace makes things easier... like trying to meet a Jedi Master."

Which is probably a terrible idea, but it's something...

[Niall Organa]

Niall's lips twitched. "I suppose it does, at that."

"Well, then." Niall straightened. "I'm not sure what issue you need Master Shan's assistance with. But regardless, it seems appropriate to wish you luck." He nodded to her. "I hope you find what you need from her."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"... Thank you," she said with a sincere tone, returning the nod. "I should probably let you get back to the Hero-work too. Appriciate you coming by."
