[D5 ME] Luck is Destiny by Another Name

[Aphr Ahaya]

"Interesting. So you look for fights?" Aphr nodded "or at least challenges. What drew you to that path?"

[Zeno Deathwright]

"That's always been my way. I was born to a Noble House with a tradition that produces the finest pilots in the empire. We keep our edge because we do not shy from challenge. Always seeking something more difficult to face," he explains.

[Aphr Ahaya]

"And I assume by you being here drinking with me that nothing has bested you to date" Aphr sounded impressed "what has been your hardest challenge?"

[Zeno Deathwright]

"I'm not always successful, but I haven't been killed yet," he says with a chuckle. "The hardest fight to date was an old tuk'ata, alive for centuries and changed by the dark side. A large, powerful creature that could fit my entire torso in it's maw. And it did. But with the aid of a few other Sith it was cut down."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"Wow" Aphr said in awe "that sounded really dangerous! How many of you did it take to slay it?"

[Zeno Deathwright]

"Three. I wiped most of it's pack in an inital volly of blaster rifle fire. It was a bit more dangerous though, and it took a few grenades and an assault of saber strikes to bring it down. It's skull is mounted on the front of my ship if you're ever interested in seeing just how big it was."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"I...kind of do" Aphr said honestly, although there was a mental ew at the idea of keeping a skull on a ship "just to see how big it was."

[Zeno Deathwright]

"Well, come by sometime. You can see the skull clearly from the observation area in the docks near my ship. It's a pretty big skull," he says with a chuckle. "How about you? What adventures and challenges have you face?"

[Aphr Ahaya]

"Sadly, nothing that would even remotely interest someone as adventurous as you" Aphr shook her head "I am responsible for arranging contracts for the Starcross, as well as Cargo. Quite boring really."

[Zeno Deathwright]

"Oh? And the ships never gotten in a spot of trouble?" he asks, not really believing that.

[Aphr Ahaya]

"Depends what you define as trouble" Aphr chuckled "we had a situation where someone demanded payment accusing us of stealing from them when we were doing a job for another. There's been a few attempts to steal from the ship, but we always lose 'em. Nothing compared to killing a creature big enough to eat you in one mouthful."

[Zeno Deathwright]

"I like flying stories. I'm a pilot myself, so they're always fun," he replies.

[Aphr Ahaya]

"I'm...sadly not the main pilot, so I can't give many good stories. I've learnt a little, so I can take over from our pilot in an emergency. Xero though, he's a master astrologian. He can plot out paths that nobody would have even thought of" Aphr chuckled "so many have thought his path insane, but the Starcross is one of the best crew and ships on Nar Shaddaa for a reason, and that reason is mainly the boss."

[Zeno Deathwright]

"I'm sure your contributions are valuable," he says with a smile. "First thing you need to know, now that you have realized your gift... it's probably always been there guiding you and it will only get stronger with study and practice. You should have confidence."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"Without me, they'd have no reason or place to fly to" Aphr said with a grin "so I know what I contribute. I am studying and practicing where I'm able to though, to understand myself and the Force more. It will take quite some time to fully grasp it though."

[Zeno Deathwright]

He nods at her. "And what does this mean for your crew?"

[Aphr Ahaya]

"I have no idea" Aphr said honestly "I assume, as long as Xero agrees to release me, that they'd just replace me."

[Zeno Deathwright]

"So you're going to leave the crew?"

[Aphr Ahaya]

"If I'm allowed, yes" Aphr nodded "I want to see where this goes. What it leads to."

[Zeno Deathwright]

"You're allowed. If someone tries to take your freedom, take it back."

[Aphr Ahaya]

Not quite... Aphr chuckled, lifting her glass "I suppose I can drink to that."

[Zeno Deathwright]

Zeno raises his glass as well. "Freedom."

[Aphr Ahaya]

There was a chink of glasses before Aphr finally took a sip of the drink.

"Huh...that's actually quite nice" she commented, looking at the drink in the glass.

[Zeno Deathwright]

"It is. It's not my favorite but it's a lot of people's favorite," he says with a nod. "And no matter what you drink, it always tastes better with lovely company."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"Company is the most important thing" Aphr agreed with a smile "why are you not drinking your favourite drink though?"
